Despite having been in Dubai for a few months now, I still have a bit of difficulty adjusting to the time zone difference. It's already past 9 in the morning here, which would be 6 in the morning in London. With a profession that's primarily nocturnal, I've long acquired the habit of staying up late. I remember that in the first few weeks after arriving in Dubai, I had a strong inclination to work late into the night at the bars I had contracts with. When the performances were mainly at bars, alongside the girls who came here around the same time as I did, there was no issue with waking up late. I recall that sometimes we would all leave work together still full of energy, and sometimes we'd go to sleep after 2 in the morning and only wake up past 10. That was the time when we shared an apartment. It was fun. But I needed a place of my own to welcome my mother and later my sister, who is still in medical school.
