Chapter Sixteen

The plumber came over at almost the same time Cole arrived. Mich had to keep him company downstairs in the living room, while I inspect the plumber's work in the bathroom. Once he finished fixing the shower, I paid him off and he left.

I picked up my purse to go meet them downstairs, I stopped on my track when I saw them chatting and laughing. They looked so beautiful together. Fuck! My imaginations. I was just being jealous for over nothing in particular. Michelle had a fiancee and Cole was still madly in love with his ex-wife, Rachel.

I waved those crazy thoughts out of my head and took a slow and steady step towards them. They turned their heads in my direction, I could see the gleam in Cole's eyes as I approached them.

" wow!" I heard him mutter.

From the corner of my eye, I could see Michelle gaping at us. I was supposed to be acting.

I winked at Cole. He noticed the signal and quickly moved in my direction, he pulled me into his warm embrace which I reciprocated.

He took me unawa
