Chapter Fifty-One

A week later, I got a call from Miles that Cole was finally awake. My heart leaped in excitement on hearing such wonderful news.

I left everything I was doing and took off to the hospital, and while I ran through the halls it felt like I wasn't speeding up enough, that I needed to fly if possible teleport to his room. I just couldn't wait to see him, to hear his beautiful voice again.

But when I opened the door, I was met with a sad face, Miles seemed not quite excited as I speculated he would be, rather he was glum and his eyes appeared red as if he had been crying.

" Gabby! Hey, you. You are here." He forced a smile as he walked up to me and gave me a quick hug.

I didn't think anything could be wrong on such a joyous day so I never cared to ask.

" He has been asking for you ever since he opened his eyes," Miles muttered.

" Really?"

" Yeah, why don't you go ahead and see him? I will wait outside." he left the room immediately before I could say a word.
