LOGINHaven's POV
The sudden pour of a cold bucket of water on my body woke me up. I immediately sat up, only to see Raven standing in front of me with an evil smile on her face and her hands folded. “You don't expect me to make breakfast, do you”? She asked and I immediately stood up and shook my head. I spent the whole night healing and some parts of my body was still aching. I was definitely not ready to get beaten again. At least, not this morning. “I'm sorry, I'll get to it immediately”. I said and was about to walk past her when she grabbed my hair, pulling me back. It hurts like hell, but I couldn't hold her hand or try to free myself as that was only going to annoy her even more. “What is this? Why are you being all bitchy this morning”? She said and I immediately shook my head. “Please, I didn't mean to offend you”. I said and she smiled before throwing me back on the bed. She walked towards me and I moved to the wall, fear evident on my face. Yes, I was weak, yes my spirit was completely broken, yes I've forgotten how to be loved so all I can do is feed off the scrap I got from my father and sister even though it was literally not there. Yes my sister terrified the living shit out of me because she was like the devil but I couldn't help but stay weak. Don't think I haven't tried to fight back. I have, but every time I did, I was reminded of how insignificant I was and just how powerless I was compared to my sister. What about running away you might ask? Ha!! I've tried to do that only twice and I died almost ten times. “You seem to think alpha Urian is actually going to choose you”. She said but of course I knew he wouldn't and to be honest, I actually hoped he wouldn't. I didn't want to think about the kind of torture I would go through in that pack. I shook my head, showing her I wasn't thinking about it at all. She raised her hand, ready to hit me when I heard dad call her. “Raven”! He called out, causing her hand to hang midair as she turned to him. “I know you want to hit her and put some sense into her. Believe me, I do too but you can't slap her”. He said and my heart which was beating so hard calmed down a bit even though I wasn't sure what he was driving at just yet. “We have just a day to prepare for the ball. We can't have her face looking bruised”. He said and moved past her, moving towards me. That face, that cold and heartless face that was once filled with love. I was used to it by now. Before I could think too far, he raised his legs and hit me on my tummy. I held my tummy in pain but he looked at Raven as they both smiled. “You can hit her in places that won't show”. He said and Raven looked like she was just handed a pack full of candy. As soon as he turned back to me, the smile on his face vanished. “Get the fuck up and make me breakfast”. He said and even though it felt like my ribs had broken, I stood up almost immediately and dashed out of the basement to make them breakfast. My father soon left for a council meeting as the union Ball was close now. Raven went out to see her friends, leaving me at home alone. I didn't have much to do as I was done with my chores already but I knew better than to go out. Going back to the basement, I took out a book and began reading. I didn't have a cellphone like my sister, so I took pleasure in reading beautiful romance books even though they were all just a fairytale to me. I was reading when I heard the door slam shut. I knew someone was inside but I didn't want to leave the basement. So I went to my little crack to see who it was and there they were, Raven and my only friend, Andy, kissing and taking clothes off. I knew they weren't mates and last time we spoke, Andy was telling me just how much he couldn't stand Raven. Imagine my shock when Dad said I was trying to take Andy away from Raven. I haven't seen him since then so I haven't even gotten an explanation from him but seeing them like this now, I didn't need any more explanation. Funny of me to have thought Andy would actually like me instead of Raven. Yes, he has been my crush since we were kids and I liked him first but Raven was always more outspoken and likable than me. Plus, Andy isn't just anyone, he's alpha Georges son. Getting down from my stool, I went back to sit on my bed, trying to ignore the sounds that were coming from upstairs. I've never been with a man before but I wasn't so naive that I didn't know what those moans and clapping meant. They were definitely going so hard. After what felt like forever, they finally stopped and I was so relieved. But shortly after, I heard the door to the basement open, causing me to look up very alert. Raven walked in with Andy and even though I hated to admit it, they actually looked good together. “Get it over with and let's go”. Raven said, confusing me. Andy began coming closer and at first, I thought he came to explain to me. Probably give me some sort of excuse but what he said next made my eyes open wide in fright. “I've always wanted to see if you really can't die". He said and my heart began beating so hard. Just because I couldn't die didn't mean I was immune to pain. I shook my head and spoke. “Andy wait please…” He didn't let me speak further before his hand dug into my chest. My eyes opened wide as blood spilled out of my mouth. Suddenly he had a look I had never seen before, he actually looked worse than Raven. I could hear Raven laugh but her laughter immediately seized when Andy pulled out my heart. “The fuck”!! That was the last thing I heard before I passed out. And that was it… my first crush was finally. overHaven barely slept.Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Raven’s smirk. She was constantly revisited with moments of torture and painShe had left the pack, but she was still faced with the same heavy aches in her chest, squeezing her lungs. But now there was something else, something new… determination. She sat on the bed with her knees pulled to her chest, staring at the window as the sky slowly shifted from deep blue to shades of pale gray. It was slowly dawn. Her heart pounded.Six a.m.This wasn’t just training. This wasn’t her trying to be strong because she wanted to be impressive or because she wanted to challenge anyone. This was survival.Because if Raven came here… no, when Raven came here, Haven knew exactly what would happen. Her sister wasn’t going to let her live in peace. She never had.Haven inhaled deeply, pressed her palms to the bed, and stood. She had to be ready.Valerie decided they would train in the fields instead of indoors. The training fields were enor
Haven's eyes opened wide like they were going to fall off. She didn't want to believe it, she didn't want to jump into conclusions but her curiosity got the best of her. “Your mate… is Raven”?She asked and he placed his hand in his pocket as he sucked in a bit of air. “That's her name huh”?He asked and Haven's heart began beating heavily. “Just out of curiosity, do you two not get along"?Haven stayed silent for a while. How was she going to answer that question without annoying him?She was very sure he was going to bring her to this pack. There was absolutely no man Raven had attracted that didn't do their best to get her and seeing he was already attracted to her through the mate bond, she was sure he was going to bring her. If she was honest with him, she could end up suffering later. They could take turns to hurt her and she didn't want that. With a very fake smile, she shook her head. “We had a normal sibling relationship”.She said and he smiled as he nodded. “That's
The dinning table was a pretty big and long one so Haven waited for him to sit down before getting a sit for herself. She went and sat on the chair at the extreme end of the table, creating a generous amount of distance between them. He looked at her with his brows creased before he asked. “Why are you sitting so far away”?She blinked countless times. It was already enough that he allowed her sit with him on the table she couldn't have asked for more. Without asking any further, he stood up from his chair and for a split second, Haven though he had gotten angry. But to her surprise, he moved closer and sat next to her. Haven's eyes opened wide. It was common sense that the head of the household was to sit on the head chair and this was no ordinary head, he was the supreme alpha. Without thinking twice, she immediately stood up and moved away from the chair. “Forgive my ignorance, please… sit”.She said, causing him to look at the chair before looking back at her. “You don't h
Valerie opened the door and walked in. She flashed Simon a faint smile but he raised a brow and shook his head. Simon already knew Valerie was a seductress, getting any man she wants but he wasn't interested in her especially since she was working directly with his older brother. “Your mate seems to have mistaken my intentions, she thought we have some sort of intimate relationship”.Urian looked at her with his brow raised in caution. “What are you talking about? Has she met you before”?He asked but Valarie shook her head as she dragged her finger on the couch gently, reaching Simon, she dragged her finger around his shoulder, causing him to shudder a bit but he didn't move. Valerie smiled seeing she had some sort of effect on him. “She saw me hugging you outside your room”.Simon immediately raised his head to his brother before he turned to look at Valerie. “You were hugging”?He asked, giving a face of complete disbelief. “She was only congratulating for finding her. I di
Third person POV.Haven stood stiff on the spot as she kept looking at the beautiful woman who looked like she had just fallen from the sky. The lady had leather pants and a crop top on which showed just how curvy she was. She was the type who had the face and the body. She slowly moved back into the room, her heart pounding as she leaned against the door, hoping they didn't see her. She didn't know anyone here yet, and even though the scars weren't so deep anymore, she was still in pain and wasn't fully healed yet, she wasn't ready to be tortured just yet.She decided to take care of herself as she went into the bathroom. The bathrooms vibe was similar to the room as it also had dark walls but unlike the bedroom, every other thing in the bathroom was white. She looked around, wondering what she could use that wouldn't get her into trouble but as she was new to all of this, she decided to just use whatever she needed but use them properly and return them neatly. After having a
Haven's POV I watched as my dad kept tearing me open. I couldn't understand why I wasn't dead yet. The pain was out of this world. I could feel my skin falling off of my body and the plain hate in his eyes made me stop yelling. I was weak, I was tired. I couldn't beg anymore, I couldn't move anymore. I just remained there, looking at him as tears kept pouring out of my eyes. 'why couldn't I hate you all this while? Why… why did I keep giving excuses for your actions'?I thought to myself as I watched the man who saw me as nothing but his regret keep tearing me up. I finally closed my eyes as I could feel death slipping in. By now, it was safe to say I and death had built a very close relationship. Whenever it was close, I could feel it clearly. I heard Raven's voice, I heard her call out dad but that was it. I was gone, letting the darkness swallow me whole. I knew I would come back. Just as I had gotten used to death, I was used to life as well and I could feel her holding my h
