Urian's POV

I jolted up from my sleep just like I have been doing for almost a year now.

It all started in the first week of April. I wasn't sure what it meant just yet, but my dreams were always filled with nightmares of a girl who's face I could not see clearly being killed over and over again.

The dreams kept me up most hours of the night, almost like someone was trying to pass me a message but this time around, it felt worse. I could feel every pain and every anger.

At first, I thought it could be my mate, but it made no sense as I was already destined never to have one.

Plus, even werewolves who have found their mates could not feel their pain this much let alone, I who have never seen her before.

I asked Valerie, my packs witch about it and she said all she knew is it was related to the prophecy but even with all of her powers, she also couldn't find this girl.

I could feel the sweat dripping from my face because of the nightmare I just woke up from. Looking outside the window, I noticed the full moon was still high. I decided to let lose and go into the woods for a bit.

Coming back at the crack of dawn, I went straight to the shower, letting the cold water wash away all of the dirt.

With my eyes closed, I could see her again. Her face was not clear but her pain was hard to ignore. She looked so desperate as she looked back at me.

I opened my eyes, letting the water find it's way down my face.

“Who are you”?

I thought to myself as I still couldn't understand how someone I don't know could have such a hold on me and even disturb my sleep.

After my shower, I went to my study as I had a lot to do and I knew going back to sleep would only leave me with more things to worry about.

I was going through some pack documents when I heard a knock on my door and after a while, Simon, my beta walked in.

“You don't look so good”.

He said and I cleared my throat a bit before resting my back on the chair.

“I don't know what you're talking about”.

I said, looking at him like he was assuming things even though I knew he was right.

“Still having those nightmares”?

Simon asked and I sighed, finally letting my guard down.

Simon is not just my beta, he's also my younger brother and we have been close since he was born so it was pretty difficult to keep anything from each other.

“It keeps getting worse, and it never stops. If I'm not having new nightmares, I'm reliving old ones and I still can't see her face”.

I said as I stood up and walked towards my window with my hands in my pocket.

I hate the feeling I was having. The feeling of helplessness and desperation to meet someone I wasn't sure even exists.

“Which is why we must go for that ball and you must mark someone as your mate. It might help you get rid of all this”.

I suddenly heard Simon speak, causing me to turn to him with a brow raised. I've been trying so hard to avoid this union Ball even though I knew it was almost impossible at this point.

“How is that going to help me”?

I asked as that didn't sound like a solution at all.

I watched him walk towards me and we both turned to the window, looking at the beautiful serenity of the pack.

We stayed silent for a while before he spoke again.

“Valerie said you were linked to this mysterious girl's soul and that's why you can see her pain”.

He said and I just kept looking outside as was he, but he knew I was listening.

“If you mark someone and declare her your mate, your souls will be tied and that way, you could get rid of this nightmares.

I mean, it'll be crazy to have two souls tied to one”.

He said and even though what he was saying kind of made sense, I still didn't want to get a mate for just this reason. Being mated with someone means my soul would be tied with hers.

Since I'm already damned to never have a mate, I'd rather not get any, and just get a breeder to give me an heir.

Simon turned to me and placed one of his hands on my shoulder.

“You still have two days to the ball, take your time and make a decision”.

He said before he walked out, leaving just me in the study.

My mind was in so many places but in all those places, the only common factor was this girl who's face I do not know.

I soon got very preoccupied with work and for hours, no one dared disturb me as I was very focused and I hated distractions.

The work helped me get my mind off of her for a while and even though I could not deny that she was very much still on my mind, I was able to push her to the back of my mind a bit.

Later in the evening, Valerie came over. I had called her earlier and told her to come so when she did, it wasn't unexpected.

Leaving my desk, I joined her on the couch as I knew if anyone could explain, it would be her.

“I had another nightmare, but this time around, it wasn't like the others. I could feel her pain. Every time she was hit, every time she died and came back, every pain that was inflicted on her, I could feel everything but I still couldn't see her”.

I said, leaving not a single detail out. I needed a solution, I needed a vivid explanation. She looked like she was lost in thought so I decided to ask.

“Could… could it be that the moon goddess has decided to give me a mate”?

I asked but I saw her shake her head. Of course, what was I expecting? For a lycan born with the blood of a demon, I was expecting way too much.

“I don't know what this is. I don't know if the moon goddess has decided to bless you with a chance or not, but I think we need to find her… fast”.

She said, looking a lot more serious than I had expected.

“If she turns out to be a mate who is not even supposed to exist, then this might be the only chance you'll ever get. We need to find her before those people actually end up killing her”.

Third person POV Luckily for Haven, the preparations for the ball kept her dad busy till it was finally the day for the ball. She stood at a distance as she looked at Raven get dressed. Raven was heartless and cold, but she was a very beautiful girl, one who could sweep anyone off their feet, even ladies were attracted to her. She was still looking when her dad pulled her hair from behind, startling her.“You bitch you think you can slack away just because I haven't had your time”?He spoke and Haven shook her head. “I'm… I'm sorry”.She said. All of the commotion drew Raven's attention, causing her to walk towards them. “What's going on, why are you both by my door”?She asked and Haven's heart began to beat so heavily. She could tell that she was in a lot of trouble just by the smile on Raven's face. “I found this rat stealing glances at you”.Her dad said and looked at Raven with a smile. “It's been a while, what do you say we have a little bit of fun before the ball”?He as

Haven's POV I could feel the veins from my eye, head, and every part of my body pull back as my heart began to form again and blood began to circulate again. I could hear Raven yelling but I was too weak to say anything. “Why the fuck would you do that? You could have just squeezed her heart. Did you have to pull it out”?She asked, yelling at him but he looked so calm. “I thought you guys were friends”?She said and for the first time, I saw Raven looking confused. I could hear Andy chuckle but I couldn't see his face. “Please, I could never be friends with such a weakling. Someone who has never met her wolf? That's ridiculous”.He said and tears began to fall from my eyes. I wasn't supposed to cry, not for an asshole like him, but I couldn't stop it. “I only hung out with her to get closer to you”.He said but Raven didn't look too impressed. Of course she wouldn't be, not because she cared about me, but because she felt played. She probably felt she was playing him and pus

Haven's POVThe sudden pour of a cold bucket of water on my body woke me up. I immediately sat up, only to see Raven standing in front of me with an evil smile on her face and her hands folded. “You don't expect me to make breakfast, do you”?She asked and I immediately stood up and shook my head. I spent the whole night healing and some parts of my body was still aching. I was definitely not ready to get beaten again. At least, not this morning. “I'm sorry, I'll get to it immediately”.I said and was about to walk past her when she grabbed my hair, pulling me back. It hurts like hell, but I couldn't hold her hand or try to free myself as that was only going to annoy her even more. “What is this? Why are you being all bitchy this morning”?She said and I immediately shook my head. “Please, I didn't mean to offend you”.I said and she smiled before throwing me back on the bed. She walked towards me and I moved to the wall, fear evident on my face. Yes, I was weak, yes my spirit

  • A fate unplanned    the union ball

Haven's POV I needed to know what was going on because most of the time, it would result to me getting more punishments. Going to my usual spot that had a bit of an opening so I could see and hear a bit, I remained as silent as I could as I tried to see what was going on through the woods on the floor. “What brings you here alpha George”?Dad asked and I finally understood why dad quickly hid me. Alpha George was a pretty peaceful alpha and if there was no need for it, he didn't allow violence within the pack especially not within families. Since Dad was one of his trusted elders, of course he couldn't let alpha George see me like this as it would get him in crazy trouble. “I'm sorry to bother you when you should be out having fun and hunting with your daughters”.He said and I swallowed as the word hunting was very traumatizing. My dad smiled and shook his head. “My girls are pretty tired tonight. Haven is already asleep”.He said and I couldn't help but admire how he lied so

  • A fate unplanned    what it feels like to die over and over again

Haven's POV I knew better than anyone that it would be better to fall off a cliff than get caught by the two wolves that were chasing after me. But even with how scared I was, I already knew how it was going to end. My dad and Raven, my twin always enjoyed using me as a hunt tool. Since I couldn't shift, and they knew I was gifted the power of immortality, they'd chase me every full moon and tear me apart knowing I wouldn't die. Every full moon, I go through the same kind of torture but my everyday life wasn't any better. As I ran through the woods, breathing ever so loudly, I hoped with all of me that they would not get me but as usual, it was all in vain. I was still running when Raven jumped at me from behind, falling me to the ground. Soon, I saw my dad come up to me and as I closed me eyes for the inevitable pain, I heard Raven speak. “Slitting your throat would be too easy tonight”.I opened my eyes and noticed she and my dad had shifted back to their human form. My hear
