Theon
A series of notifications arrived on my cell phone. Samantha had sent me a few messages. I opened them up, there were some pictures of a blood test on Samantha M. Hurst's name, and an ultrasound. It was already possible to see a human form there, despite being small and misshapen, the little being already had arms, legs and a head.
My child.
I locked the phone's screen and put it in my pocket before hurrying home. I needed to resolve this at once.
I need to talk to Samantha. Maybe I should take advantage of Harper's trip to Denver tomorrow.
Harper... What will she think about this story? God, what a mess!
I walked into the house and went to the bathroom, a good shower would help me clear my head. As soon as I got out of the shower, I had managed to come up with an acceptable plan, I threw myself on the bed, taking out my cell phone to call my girlfriend.
"Hi Honey, did you forget something?"
“Harper, hi… I got a problem to take care of over the weekend, so I have to travel tomorrow.” I tried to be vague.
"A trip? Where?" she asked in surprise.
"Vegas. I have to go with Gregor" I thought of some excuse.
"Vegas!? You and Gregor have a problem to solve in Vegas? Are you serious, Theon?" she laughed.
"unfortunately yes" maybe I don't have a girlfriend for so long after all.
"Gregor's up to something, hasn't he?" she deduced.
I took a deep breath thinking of what to say. I didn't want to lie to her, but I also didn't want to tell her what was going on without talking to Samantha first.
“I'll be back Sunday morning.” I dodged the subject.
"Fine, I'll see you for lunch then," she sighed.
I hung up the phone before looking up my cousin's number in the address book. It was time to call in some favors.
" Are you more calm?" Gregor answered on the second ring.
“Pack your bags, we're going to Vegas,” I warned.
Gregor chuckled on the other side, as if I'd told him a good joke.
"Gregor, I'm serious, you're coming with me!"
"What's the fun?" I heard Agatha's voice in the background.
“Gregor, I already told Harper you're coming with me.” I tried another approach.
“Cousin, as much as I adore the city, you now that I have a lovely wife and I'm sure that she wouldn't agree to your plan.
"What plan?" Agatha questioned again.
“Weekend in Vegas,” he explained.
"No way! Have you gone crazy?" she raised her voice.
"You see?" Gregor snapped "there's nothing I can do, my friend."
"Put it on speakerphone." I rolled my eyes.
"Theon has been a month since you left Vegas, you already enjoyed a lot the week you stayed there, don't think that..."
"Agatha, I have a problem and I really need Gregor's help to solve it" I appealed "I swear to you it's not for fun."
"It's exactly because he had too much fun," Gregor chuckled in the background.
"What kind of trouble would you have in Vegas, Theon?"
“It's a big problem,” I dismiss.
"I wouldn't say big, it's still growing," my cousin joked, making me want to hit him in the head.
“Gregor."
“If you want her to release me, you'll have to reveal why, Adamos."
“What did you do?” Agatha asked suspiciously.
"I didn't do anything this time." I heard the smile in my cousin's voice.
“Okay Agatha, I rely on your description on this. Harper still doesn't know" I asked.
“Okay" She agreed.
“I met a girl in Vegas while traveling, we spent some time together.” I rubbed my throat a little uncomfortably.
"They spent the whole time together," Gregor corrected me.
“She called me today."
"Theon, do you really believe I'm going to support this!?" Agatha's voice rose, clearly irritated. "If you want to see this girl, you should at least have the decency to..."
“You misunderstood, Agatha,” Gregor interrupted his wife, “it's not that he wants to see her.
"So what is it?"
“She called me to say she's pregnant.” I sighed.
"And he's the father." Gregor seemed to be enjoying my misfortune.
“It's not that I want to go, but I need to sort this out. And I don't want to tell Harper something like this without being sure,” I explained. “I told her I was going with Gregor to solve a problem, so I need him to come with me.
“I…I don't know what to say, Theon,” she finally blurted out, “I'm shocked…"
"We'll be back Sunday morning," I assured him.
"Okay, I guess," she accepted a little uncertainly.
“I've already booked a flight, cousin,” Gregor warned. “We're leaving in the morning."
"Thanks Agatha, I'll stop by your house tomorrow, Gregor," I sighed in relief.
“Good luck and congratulations, Theon,” Agatha wished.
“Thanks.” I felt myself falter a little, I didn't think I'd hear anyone congratulate me on having a child so soon.
But at least Gregor is going with me, it's one less thing to deal with.
SamanthaI heard the front door open before Charlie turned on the light, finding me shrunken on the couch."Sam, you're still awake! " she exclaimed with concern.I took my phone, noting it was after 2:00 in the morning. I lay here waiting for Theon to return the call and I didn't even notice the passage of time."I think I got some sleep," I sat down."What happened? Why are you here?”"I called him ," I explained, feeling my face warm." Oh, I understand," she sat next to me.I've been running away from that connection ever since I found out about the pregnancy. The girls were trying to convince me to call Theon since my appointment last week, but I always lost my nerve at the last moment, and today, reviewing the ultrasound photos, I decided to try.“How did he react? " she held my hand."The way you expected, I think," I shrugged, looked away," first he thought I was joking, then he said he needed some time, and he'd call me later, and he didn't call me anymore."Do you think tha
SamanthaWe both ate in silence for a few minutes, and little by little I became better. He was there with me after all. That's a good sign, right? I'm not alone."I got the pictures you sent yesterday, are you already doing prenatal care? " Theon broke his silence after a few minutes, watching me with fun as I alternated between fish and meat."Yes, I started last week, Elle got an emergency appointment with her doctor—I forced myself to swallow what was in my mouth."And how was everything? — he seemed interested."I'm nine weeks now, she gave me some vitamins and I did other tests. It's okay, it's okay."And when are you born? " he asked."In early March," I recounted, siluting the glass of juice, the same month as my birthday."Really? Do you have your birthday in March? " he smiled. That question affected me, I don't know anything about the man I'm going to have a child with!"God, we know nothing about each other," I moaned disgusted.Theon seemed bland with that comment."I don
Theon A relief came over me as I heard Sam's answer, it gave me a light at the end of the whole situation. It wouldn't be easy, but we could make it work. For the sake of that child, we would make it work. " Thank you so much," I sighed, hugging her. " It was nothing," she assured me, looking a little embarrassed. " Come on, you better get out of this sun," I stood up, helping her out. Samantha smiled, walking beside me with a calmer expression. I let my mind wander for a moment to the day before, when I didn't know everything that awaited me. I had been happy with Harper, And now I don't even know what awaits me from this point on. Will she take it well? How can I tell her something like this? And my family, what will they think of all this? " Well, how will all this work out? " Samantha's voice brought me back from my reverie, as we approached her apartment. " What do you mean?” " What is your city like? When can I move, where will I live? " she explained. " Ahh yes," I fr
Theon Gregor and I left Vegas in the morning, but it was almost lunchtime when we arrived in Aspen. I dropped him off at his house before heading back to mine, letting Harper know that I had arrived before I got into the shower. My only desire at that moment was to sleep for the rest of the afternoon, but I was aware that if I delayed my conversation with my girlfriend any longer, I would lose the courage to tell her what I had discovered. As soon as I was out of the shower, I went to the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge for something for lunch while planning to visit Harper soon after. The sound of the front door being unlocked caught my attention, I closed the fridge and walked to the living room, almost bumping into Harper on the way. " Theon! Hi," she smiled as she saw me. She was wearing a blue plaid shirt and a scarf around her neck. Her hair was tied up simply, but she still managed to look beautiful with that easy smile on her lips. A smile that I would be taking off s
Theon I left the house determined to get that matter over with. My mother's house was not too far away, so I arrived within ten minutes. The first thing I heard as I passed through the front door was the sound of the loud crying of Daphne, Lara's daughter. Right away Evangeline, my younger sister, came towards me with an exasperated expression on her face. " For the sake of your sanity, you better get out of here now," she raised her voice, "this girl hasn't stopped yelling for at least an hour!” I didn't have time to answer her, she simply ran towards the stairs, disappearing upstairs, while my niece's screams, if possible, became even louder. " She's hungry! " my mother's voice sounded muffled from the living room. " I told you, it's not time," my sister whined, "she just had a feed!” I walked over to where they were standing, watching my sister standing near the large glass door that led to the back yard, cradling her daughter in an attempt to somehow comfort her. My mother s
" You've got us curious," Lara smiled encouragingly. " Well, I got a call on Friday," I scratched my throat. " What kind of call? Business? " Liny questioned, concentrating on her food. " I'm going to be a father," I revealed bluntly, causing them all to freeze at the news. Liny had stopped her fork halfway to her mouth, staring at me in shock, while the others seemed to have a similar reaction. " What did you say? " my mother stammered. " I found out on Friday and am still trying to assimilate," I explained. " My God, Theon," Lara smiled, “How long has Harper been expecting?” "That's all the more reason for you to propose to her! " my grandmother pointed out cheerfully. " Harper is not pregnant," I corrected that misunderstanding. " Now I don't get it," Liny frowned. " I met a girl in Las Vegas during Gregor's bachelor party," I looked away to my almost untouched plate, "on Friday she called me to tell me that she is pregnant and that I am the father.” " You got a stranger
Samantha The ringing of the doorbell caught my attention as I folded the last of my clothes into my suitcase. " Sam, are you ready?" Elle's voice sounded in the hallway next to the bedroom a few moments later. " Almost," I crooned. She opened the door, rolling her eyes to find me wearing only panties and a bra and a towel wrapped around my hair. " You're not even dressed yet! That's typical," she sighed, "hurry up your little bit of pregnancy, or you won't look presentable in time. Soon the girls will be here!” " Do you realize how crazy this is? " I let out, looking for an outfit that fit me. “Besides, it's not my fault, I spent the last few minutes kneeling on the bathroom floor next to the toilet. I didn't have much of a choice.” When they found out about my pregnancy and my move to Aspen, the girls from work decided to have an early baby shower as a goodbye. Although I said I thought it was crazy, I was only three months pregnant, but I felt grateful for this gesture. They w
Samantha The flight was smooth, and two hours after boarding, I arrived in Denver with my heart pounding hard in my chest. That was it, it was done. I move for an unknown city, to unknown people, to complete the greatest madness of my life. But now I have no way back.I looked around as I left the airport arrivals area pushing a cart with all my luggage, which was not much, in search of Theon. I frowned as I passed a gargoyle that "adorned" the environment, it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. Did anyone really think it would be a good decoration? I sat down in one of the vacant seats, waiting for the father of my son to show up. After a few minutes without any sign of him, I decided to call, but before the call could be completed, he appeared panting in my field of vision. And to my utter surprise, he was accompanied. The woman next to him was shorter than him, with shoulder length dark hair and delicate features. Is this his girlfriend? " Samantha, I am sorry! " He apolog
