Chapter Five

“What do you mean by what he is doing on TV? Do you know him?” Lucy asked, baffled at why she suddenly acted that way.

“He is the one! He is the one who impregnated me.” Savannah pointed her hand at the TV.

“Are you for real? That is Andy Norman. He owns a hotel and he is a billionaire. Oh my goodness! Luck finally shone on you, Savannah. This man is a fu**ing billionaire and he would be able to cater for all you need.” Lucy screamed in joy, but Savannah’s heart was filled with anger and could not reason the way Lucy was.

“Enough! I am not going to that filthy man. So, he was a billionaire who had a hotel and he came to a pub! He is devil-sent. He was sent to destroy my life in the twinkle of an eye, and I would never forgive him.” Savannah screamed, with her face looking red. Then she stormed out of the room.

Lucy had been trying to convince Savannah to accept her suggestion and tell him about the pregnancy, but Savannah kept saying no to it.

“Come on, Savannah. Weren’t you the one who said you are tired of it all, and now, I am giving you a profound solution, but you are adamant on not considering it.” Lucy complained, looking frustrated.

She wanted the best for Savannah, but she didn’t like the way she was being adamant on accepting the offer. She wanted to witness her friend’s suffering come to an end. She wanted to watch her living in affluence and if possible, be married to Andy Norman.

“Do you know how many people who really want this kind of opportunity that you aren’t using well?” Lucy shouted in frustration.

“I do not care. Whenever I look at that man’s face, I feel anger within me and it doesn’t seem to die down. He is rude and just not. That day, he talked like he wasn’t really affected. He didn’t show any sign of concern and that made me even more mad.” Savannah explained, looking furious.

Lucy had never seen Savannah look as furious as that. She had always been calm and understanding. Also, she took her advice well, but she guessed that she was really pained this time around, for her not to listen to her and show pained expressions.

Still, she felt she was blindfolded by anger and wasn’t in the right mind to decide, so she felt she still had to convince her and make her see the bright side of it.

“I understand you, I really do. But…” Lucy was interrupted and her words were cut short.

“You do not understand me! Do not say that! You know what? This discussion is over! Do not bug me with it anymore. I am still able to work for now, so I will work to save for the delivery fee of this baby and take care of it myself. And if you keep bugging me about this, I might as well, just kill myself.” Savannah threatened, with seriousness.

A few days later, Lucy got tired of seeing her best friend work to the bones, all because of her obstinate self. She had stopped bugging her, because she didn’t want to lose her. This made Lucy shout at her in anger and talked sense to her.

“What is wrong with you, Savannah? Why are you acting this way? Aren’t you tired of suffering, because of your stubbornness?” Lucy shouted, with anger clearly seen in her eyes.

“What is it now?” Savannah asked, twitching her mouth.

”Before you commit suicide, allow me to say this again. Don’t you think of your brother? He is in pain right now, because of your inability to pay his surgical fee. The hospital will drive him out soon, because of your stubbornness! And now, you are pregnant and you want to bring the baby into the suffering world too? You are ridiculous.”

“Is all this my fault?” She asked, looking angry and baffled.

“No. But it would be your fault if Jaden dies and your unborn baby comes to the world, regretting being alive, just like you are, too.” Lucy said and left immediately.

Savannah’s heart was pricked and she felt her conscience pricking her as well. She had been selfish all along and didn’t consider both her brother and her unborn baby.

The next day, she apologized to Lucy and accepted to meet with Andy Norman. For days, she tried her best to meet with him, but it was hard, as she didn’t book an appointment with them.

“I am telling you that this is something urgent and it is something he would love to hear. Let me see him.” Savannah said, beginning to get impatient.

“I have told you, ma’am. You can’t see him, if you are without an appointment.” The lady at the reception said, with her smile fading as Savannah had been stressing her for days.

“But if you allow me to see him, you would also find out that he is grateful that I was able to see him. I have such important news and you are being the stumbling block that is preventing him from getting the news.” Savannah said, beginning to express her frustration.

“Yes, I am the stumbling block that prevents people like you from seeing him.”

“What do you mean? Tell me, what did you mean with that statement?” Savannah shouted, losing her impatience. She was thrown out as it seemed she was already causing a nuisance at the company.

Fortunately for her, Andy spotted her when he came out of the elevator. He got out of the company as he was about to go home, but just decided to take a glance at her and scoff, because he thought she was there for more.

But he was attracted by her beauty instead and walked up to her. Savannah was happy to see him, because she had gone through a lot of stress, just to see him.

“I need to see you for something important.” She said, quickly.

“What! You are pregnant?” He exclaimed in shock.

“Yes. I do not need to get married to you, I only need you to accept the baby and take care of it, when I give birth.”

“No. I know people like you. I am not the owner of this baby. Leave at once!” He said, with a frown on his face.
