As he lay on the ground, Richard regained consciousness a while later and heard noises around him as well as his phone ringing. He recalled everything that had happened so far and his eyes instantly shot open. He saw a few people surrounding him. When they saw him open his eyes, two of the men helped him up from the ground and wanted to take him to the hospital.Richard shook his head, "thank you very much. I'm grateful to you all but I'm fine."He wasn't fine actually. His head was in a lot of pain and so was his body but he kept thinking about Ava and her situation. She was counting on him to save her and he could not let her down.He got up and staggered toward the road, much to the surprise of the people around him. Ignoring the blood which was dripping at the back of his head, he stopped a taxi and got in after telling the driver where he was heading to.He took out his phone which kept ringing inside his pocket and realized that the screen had been badly broken. Richard finally met up with Damon and the latter was shocked to see his appearance. "What happened to you?" Damon asked.Richard sighed, "I was cornered by two cars and pushed off the road. They were gangsters so I suspect that they work for Red Blaze. I got into a terrible accident and almost didn't make it out alive. The explosion of the car made me pass out and that's why I could not take your calls.Since you said Red Blaze did not show up here, it means he is already onto us. Richard and Damon came back to their hotel room with frustration clearly written on their faces. They had spent the past two days going around the city of Bangkok in disguise trying to find out which of Ace's houses he was actually hiding at. Richard stared at all the places he had crossed off his list and realized that only one of Ace's houses was left. However, this building which was built like a palace was situated in a quieter part of the city.He felt worried because it was their headquarters and would mostly be crawling with gangsters. Of course, since Ace's father wasn't in the country, half of their men were with him, ensuring that he was well protected but this did not change the fact that Ace still had a lot of men.Going to this place was very risky so Richard knew that he needed to plan carefully. Ava opened her eyes the next morning when she felt someone's hand on her back. She saw a pair of familiar eyes staring at her and was surprised. She quickly sat upright and stared at him. He seemed stressed out that she could not help but wonder what had been keeping him busy. She could not keep her curiosity to herself and asked, "where have you been all this time, Ace," Ace ignored her question and said, "get ready, princess. We are moving to one of my beach houses. I need you to pack up the few belongings you have here before it gets dark because we leave in the evening. Some important members of the Black Scorpion Mafia gang are coming over here and I don't feel comfortable having you under the same roof with them."Ava had no idea about what Ace was talking about and the fact that he ignored her question annoyed her. Richard began to wonder if Ava and Ace were going somewhere. He hoped that was not the case because it was going to ruin all his plans. He pulled his eyes away from Ava with great difficulty because he did not want it to seem as though he was falling in love with the boss's girl.But the fact was that he did love Ava. Richard could not understand what had just happened. The moment Ace and his underlings drove out of the compound, he snatched the Van keys from one of the workers who had driven them there. He hurried out of the gate and got into the van, leaving behind the surprised workers.He went after Ace because when he came out and did not see Damon or his bike, he suspected that he had run away with Ava and that was why Ace and his men had left in a frenzy. He wanted to be sure about this because he had earlier discussed his plans with Damon and they had an understanding. Why would Damon do something contrary when he knew that there was very little chance of it being successful? After driving for a few minutes, Richard dialed Damon's number to confirm his suspicions while hoping that he was wrong.
