Chapter 7- We have bad decisions to make

Chapter 7

If there is one thing that Greyson was good at, it was packing as fast as he can to get somewhere. He was always in a rush to get somewhere but this time he was going to an old friend's wedding. He hadn't seen Brendan in a very long time. He didn't know that he was also friends with Cassie while making his way to the airport he asked himself how could he have missed her or if he was so in love with Viv that nothing and no one else matter except for the life that they were building.

As soon as he boarded the plane he was taken to first-class ,yet only ever flown business class even Jenna knew that; he didn't like flying first class not for all the money in the world because he thought that it was a waste of time and it was just rich people showing off. The 12-hour trip was going to be long and he needed to get his wits about him, because he needed to figure out whether or not he had feelings for the girl that he just made yesterday and didn't realize that he had feelings for her until he saw her and the funny thing about this whole situation was that they were hanging out in the same circles but he didn't notice her …either that or his sister was keeping her away from him on purpose. She wasn't just the perfect fit for him; Cassie was the benchmark and standard.

The relationship that he had developed with Jenna was nothing short of a rebound in a way he was getting bored of her and as much as he wanted to believe that he was in a relationship with her, what they were doing was just fooling around and he still hadn't introduced her to the kids as his girlfriend because an indicator that and she wasn't one because he didn't trust her. Cassie on the other hand seemed like the type of person who would balance both sides of the story ,and give you a fair chance to explain yourself but he was still caught up on what he did last night and the last goodbye that happened.

There were no connecting flights to where he was going, he was supposed to take a direct flight which he did and from there he was supposed to take an Uber to go to the hotel where he was going to be staying. Grayson had fallen asleep listening to a couple of albums that he had preloaded for when he was going to travel and since that day came, he decided to listen to music the whole time.

At some point, he forgot to plug in the charger that was provided on the plane and his phone ran out of battery life. Since he wasn't good with making new friends ,and he was in a bad mood from last night and the one person he wanted to see he couldn't get hold of, he decided to go to the lounge. He was seated at a table for two overlooking the whole airport when he heard a familiar voice.

" Is it so hard to do what I asked? You had one job and one job to give me a bottle of whatever I ordered because I don't want to order it time and time again and you're not listening to me…”

With all his senses including his sixth sense he knew who it was before he scanned the room .

" Mam we don't sell it by the bottle. "

Grayson looked up and he couldn't believe his eyes. She was here, Cassie was in the same lounge as he was in. He walked up to her and when he saw the barman breathe a sigh of relief, he nodded and left Cassie hanging.

" Cassandra Hunter. "

Cassie turned around and looked at Greyson.

" Are you following me? You are such a stalker. You are obsessed.”

" No. I'm not .I'm supposed to take an Uber to a hotel for a wedding that I'm going to. You're already causing a scene ."

" Am not!"

" Are too. I don't know why but I care about you , and I am not going to watch you embarrass yourself. You're better than this .”

When Cassie looked up everyone was looking at her. She had never lost self-control or acted out of character, which is what she was doing. She wasn't drunk but she wanted that bottle of whiskey and it was a very expensive bottle of whiskey that the waiter refused to give her, because it wasn't allowed. She took a deep breath and smiled at everyone and a couple of people waved back and looked back at Grayson who was trying so hard not to laugh he stifled his laugh by pressing his lips together. She smiled and waved back.

" I'm not doing okay and I'm in the right frame of mind. I was trying to get drunk but since they will not serve me what I need, I might as well just go to the hotel by myself. "

" Misery loves company and I'm the right kind of company, besides we both found out things that we weren't supposed to find out yesterday and I cannot believe that we're in the same city and we are going to the same wedding, my sister was supposed to go with you but she told me I should go instead. I haven't seen Brandon in a long time."

" Oh. "

" I have a table for two and I'm sitting alone."

Cassie remembered that; Jake was also invited and the last thing she needed was for him to think she was not over him. She stood up with Greyson and followed him to his table and as soon as they sat down one of the waiters brought him the burger he ordered.

" Fine. How did you get here? "

" My sister. Are you hungry? "

She looked at him and nodded. He cut the burger in half and gave it to Cassie. He signaled to the waiter to bring him two glasses of cola too.

" You just shared your food with me, no one's ever done that for me ."

Greyson looked at Cassie without any warning and kissed her forehead. She felt all warm and fuzzy and for Greyson it felt right for him to do what he just did .

" Have you slept at all since the other night? I feel pretty bad about what I said. I wanted to go see you two days ago, which feels like yesterday ,and my sister told me that you weren't home and then she gave me her plane ticket."

Cassie swallowed the contents in her mouth and washed it down with the glass of cola she was given.

" I see. What about Jenna? "

" I seem to be crushing hard on someone that I'm looking at right now ,and they don't notice it ,so what I have with Jenna isn't the real thing. I think I might have fallen so hard for the person that I'm looking at right now. “

" I have the sudden urge to kiss you regardless of what has happened before and it's something that I need to fight because I have never lost control in public, and I'm not about to do that right now so can we enjoy the meal and discuss your feelings for me a bit later."

" I'm not a bad kisser, I've had practice. I am a good kisser and according to the women that I've slept with, I'm amazing in bed but you know that because we have the urge to do something and you will not act on it so I will respect your boundaries. On the other hand,I'm still reeling from finding out that my son is not my son ,and that I only have a daughter with my wife who cheated on me with her first love because I wasn't enough … so imagine how I'm feeling and you telling me what you're telling me makes me feel a bit more rejected in a way. "

" I'm sorry. "

" No, you're not, what is it that you want to tell me? "

" Get over yourself and stop it with the pity party. I'm knackered. "

" So am I and for some sort of odd reason you're the only one that makes sense. "

"Let's get out of here and get to the hotel. My car is waiting outside. You just saved me from making a bad decision, let me save you from logistical problems. Follow me. "

Greyson paid for the meal and took his phone and luggage with him as soon as they both got inside the car Greyson spoke;

" Cassie, you are aware that we are both going through something hard right ,and that we Shouldn't be making bad choices especially in the state that we are both in.I am thankful that you are around and I hope I can be there for you as much as you were there for me .”

"I understand . "

Greyson held her hand and she placed her head on his shoulder.

" I'm sorry. You didn't deserve to find out what happened , the way you did ."

" I'm sorry too. Look on the bright side at least we didn't crash a wedding. "

She pulled back and looked at him.

" I have an idea. "

" I'm listening. "

" Let's pretend to be guests at different weddings. I've never done that before."

" Not everyone knows who we are. "

" You're a bad influence. "

" We need to get over our pity party. "

" Am I forgiven for the other night? "

" Yes, on the condition that you attend a couple of weddings we aren't invited to with me. "

" Deal … Now I want to kiss you. "

" I have a solution for that. "

"You do? "

Cassie looked at Greyson and he looked at her.

" Yes. Close your eyes and Come closer ."

Greyson did as he was told and closed his eyes. Cassie gave him a peck on the cheek and pulled back.

" Is that it ?"

" Nope. We just arrived at our first wedding. Come on, we have lots of eating to do and drinking. We don't want to be late. "

" You are edging me on purpose. "

" Yes. "

“ How do you know about weddings? “

“ I kinda know this part of town.”

As soon as they both stepped out and he held her hand he pulled her close to him, dipped her, and then kissed her like he meant it. When she finally came down from a high trying to catch her breath,Greyson was on fire in a good way. He was falling in love and so was Cassie but she didn't want to show it.

" I don't like being edged ."

"Wow. "

" Indeed you taste as good as you look. Even though you taste like the burger you just ate mixed with bad mints ."

" You taste the same. "

" A little less smart mouth, we have bad decisions to make ."

" Who's the bad influencer now ?"

The next morning when Cassie woke up she was in bed with Greyson who was fast asleep, and at first, she thought that she was dreaming. If she was dreaming it would have been a perfect dream because she would have been with someone that she can't have. She took a deep breath and sat up, stretched her arms, and yawned. She placed her chin on her knees with her arms wrapped around her shins to try and remember what happened the night before the morning after.

Greyson woke up too and he had the biggest smile on his face. He kissed Cassie on the shoulder and pulled her into his arms.

She looked at Greyson confused.

" Christianson ? "

" Honey? "

" What the hell happened last night and why are you calling me honey? "

" Lift your left hand ."

" Why do I have a ring on? "

" We are married ."

" What? "
