TURNS OF EVENT

Daisy’s POV

“What do you mean?” I faced them but none were willing to give me a response to my question, they could only stare at the ground not saying anything.

“None of you should fucking play dumb with me or I won’t stay still right now.” I said firmly, mom slowly faced me but looked away almost immediately. “Dad!”

“Okay fine. The thing is Brian married you because…” He was interrupted by Brian who coughed out.

“The deal.” He said, dad slowly sigh and looked at me again, what was the deal? Mom took over when dad wouldn’t say anything.

“It’s still the same, you are not divorcing Brian, we know we are wrong about not contacting you all these years and for Selena, she has nothing to do with Brian, please, just let’s make it up to you.”

I couldn’t believe the words coming out of the same people that I called my family but one thing was for sure, there was more to Selena and to Brian.

There had to be a connection between all of them and why they were not telling me anything was making me more curious, I knew I needed to go back to Brian’s house if I wanted to find out what was going on.

“I will…” I paused, even if I’m going back, I wouldn’t let them restrict my freedom like they did before, “But on one condition.”

I faced Brian, “You have no right to restrict my freedom, even if you don’t want me to be in public with you, it’s fine, I’m not fighting on that but you can’t keep me from going out, and I wouldn’t be quitting my job either.”

Mom tried to argue with me but was stopped by Brian, “Fine I agree, on one condition also.” He said.

“What is?” Each words coming out from each of us mouth speaks our fate, even though I don’t know why Brian insisted on staying with me when he clearly does not love me or want me but I would find a way out for myself.

“You must lay a low profile, and watch out for yourself first.” He said, that was a simple thing to do so I agreed to his request.

After staying for a bit more while, we both left, he offered to follow me to pack up my stuffs at the house but I declined even though I couldn’t decliej him taking me back to my house.

When I dropped, I watched him leave before starting to walk to my house door, I felt like someone was following me from behind, I turned back sharply but didn’t find anyone. Maybe I was overthinking it.

I moved forward, proceeding to press my passkey but I saw a phone reflection from the back which made me turn bumping into someone.

“Ouch.” We both winced at the same time, she stood up, turned out to be Lily. “Lily.” I called surprised, she looked up and was surprised to see me also.

“Hey, Daisy, what are you looking for here?” She asked, it was weird that when I turned back it was her I saw.

“This is my house.” I answered softly trying to calm down.

“Ohh nice, that makes us neighbors.”

“I’m living just at the next door.” She pointed at the locked door beside my house which made me breathe in relief.

What was I thinking? I must have been too stressed out by everything happeneing. “Ohh really?”

“Yes, I saw Brian’s car earlier while I was coming from buying soemthing at the store, do you know him?” Hee question threw me off guard.

“Huh?”

“What do you mean?”

“Maybe I mistook his car then but it look so identical.” She smiled, I returned back the smile to her.

“That must be so.” I said agreeing to her thought.

“When did you move in though?” I asked, I was using one eye to look at the person spying on me but I got none.

“I packed in last night. I didnt expect to meet you here. I smiled.

”Yes, welcome. I added before unlocking my door, I stopped a bit watching her retreating figure going to her door.

I went inside my house before she could look back to catch me staring at her. I was so sure someone was spying on me and I could have caught the person if Lily hadn’t bumped into me.

My phone beeped as I sat down on the seat beside my dressing table, I took it and read the message, “I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.” I scoffed out seeing his message.

Does he really think I’ll go back to him if it wasn’t because of what I’m trying to find out.

I turned off my phone and went to take a shower, after that, I dressed into my pyjamas before jumping on my bed.

What a long day!

I yawned turning over as I stretched my arms lazily, “Is it morning already?” I mumbled under my breath as I stood up.

I checked the time and realized it was already few minutes past 7. Wrong time to wake up.

I took my phone and went into the kitchen to make some sandwiches, after I was done, I placed it on my dressing table before to take a shower.

I slid down my nightwear walking inside the bathroom naked. I switched on the shower letting it fall on me.

The coldness run down my spine as I closed my eyes enjoying the feeling, it made me forget my worries for a while.

After I was done showering, I turned it off and washed my hair, I turned to take my towel to realize it wasn’t there.

Jezz! Where was my brain at? I forgot I took it all out for dry cleaning and haven’t had time to arrange my belongings since I was planning to move back in.

I decided to go out not minding my nakedness since I was the only one in the house, I stared at my reflection in the mirror before letting out a short smile going outside.

I thought I saw someone’s reflection but decided to let go of the thought, it wasn’t possible got anyone to enter into my house.

“Daisy, are you ready? I’m here to pick you up.” I heard Brian’s voice as my eyes went wide in shock, the door opened and he entered.
