Chapter 8 Exposed

Author: Perfect Timing
"No… No way…" Lucas' voice came out dry and hoarse, trembling despite his effort to hold it together. "This is absolutely impossible! You're just a real estate salesman!"

I ignored his hysteria and calmly kept my eyes on the screen.

The image switched again.

Lucas' personal computer desktop was mirrored on the screen. His WhatsApp chat history was projected clearly for everyone to see. It was a conversation between him and one of the group's vice presidents.

'Mr. Blake, rest assured—this system is incredibly effective. The lazy bunch in the sales department are completely under control now. Just from fines alone, the company will rake in hundreds of thousands this month!

'Especially that troublemaker named Nathan. Top performance means nothing if he won't obey orders. I can still kick him out whenever I want!

'I've already docked his entire bonus for this month. Let's see how he pays his mom's hospital bills next month. Hahaha!'

The chat ended with a large cash transfer he had s

I didn't answer immediately.I looked at Daniel and asked the last question on my mind."Mr. Prescott, will everyone get back the wages and bonuses that Lucas unfairly withheld?"My gaze swept across every colleague in the office. Some had been docked a few hundred, others a few thousand. For the company, it might have been pocket change, but for each household, it was a significant sum.Daniel froze for a moment, then burst into laughter."Of course! Not only will we return it, but we'll also double it!" He turned to the whole office, his voice booming. "Starting today, this ridiculous AI monitoring system is permanently shut down! Every camera—gone by the end of the day!"The office fell silent for a heartbeat, then erupted in thunderous applause and cheers.Employees who had been suffocating under pressure finally let go.People hugged and screamed. Claire even cried from excitement."Nathan! You're a total AI hero! Can I transfer to your department? I promise I won't slac

  • AI Sees All   Chapter 9 The Truth Can't Be Buried

The company's top boss—the chairman, Daniel Prescott—nearly kicked the door in as he stormed into the office.Several senior executives followed close behind him. Every one of them looked grim.It was obvious that someone had sent the livestream from this office straight into the executive group chat.Daniel's eyes locked at once on the obscene records displayed on the giant screen—and on Lucas, collapsed at his feet like a boneless heap."What… What is going on?" Daniel demanded. His chest heaved violently. He was barely holding back his fury.Lucas seized the moment like a drowning man grabbing the last piece of driftwood. He scrambled forward and threw himself at Daniel's feet."Mr. Prescott! It was Nathan! He hacked the company system and fabricated all of this to frame me! It was him!"Daniel's sharp gaze snapped toward me.I met his eyes without flinching. "Mr. Prescott, I didn't fabricate anything."I walked to my computer and tapped a few keys. The image on the large

  • AI Sees All   Chapter 7 The Knife That Answered to Me

Lucas lost his mind.He summoned the entire IT department and ordered them to fix the "deranged" AI immediately. The head of IT was drenched in sweat, pounding away at the keyboard for ages before finally looking up in despair. "Mr. Reed, we can't do it. We… We don't have top-level access. We can't even get into the core program.""What do you mean you don't have top-level access?" Lucas grabbed him by the collar. "Didn't our company buy this system?"The head of IT looked like he was about to cry. "We did buy it, but the core code is encrypted! The vendor said that for security reasons, only the original system architect has the master access key!"Lucas' expression shifted again and again. He had spent a fortune on what he thought was the ultimate weapon, only to realize he didn't even have the key to use it. Because the system had a back door—one that only the architect knew about. They thought they were the masters. They had no idea that I was the highest authority this syst

Lucas arrived, fashionably late, at 9:30 a.m.The moment he stepped into the office, he sensed something was off.Everyone was barely holding back laughter, shoulders trembling, but no one dared meet his gaze. His brows furrowed, a flash of anger igniting inside him. "What are you all doing? Dead quiet this early? Don't feel like working?"His voice boomed through the office. The next instant, the AI's voice echoed, crisp and mechanical. "Warning! Manager Lucas Reed detected. Volume exceeded 90 decibels. Noise pollution penalty: 500."Lucas froze. He couldn't believe his ears and spun to look at the big screen.Next to his avatar, in glaring red letters, appeared "-500.""What the hell?" he roared. "This system's glitched! Where's IT? Where are they hiding?"The AI chimed in again, unrelenting. "Warning! Manager Lucas Reed detected. Abusive language, loss of emotional control, extreme negative energy. Additional penalty: 1,000."Lucas' eyes turned red in an instant. He storme

  • AI Sees All   Chapter 5 The Morning the Rules Changed

I went home and dug out an old friend that had been gathering dust—a modified laptop. There was no operating system interface. When it was powered on, the screen opened straight into a pitch-black command line.I had built it with my own hands. Every component, every line of low-level code, bore my mark.I connected it to the network, and my fingers flew across the keyboard. Lines of green text poured down the dark screen like a waterfall.Did Lucas really think the company's flimsy firewall could stop me? He was hopelessly naive. That AI system he relied on was wide open to me. After all, the blueprints of the house were already in my head.I didn't hack it outright. That would have been letting Lucas off too easily. I wanted him to taste what it felt like to be betrayed by the very thing he trusted most.I located the AI's learning module and its logic core. After the system was brought in, its new owners had chased what they called "absolute control," crippling most of its a
