CHAPTER 2

MIDNIGHT PACK

ALPHA HERCULES

"Neo, would you shut up for at least some seconds so I can think fast? You might get tossed out the window the next minute I hear your disgruntled voice," I growled angrily. 

The silence in the room told me immediately that he had clearly understood what I said. I sighed before staring at the map I had drawn, 

My eyes kept staring at every angle of the wide paper. This was supposed to be some serious meeting to discuss my coming coronation as the next Alpha but Neo seemed to be creating Irrelevant jokes. 

I just couldn't have anyone messing with any of my plans, we needed to become the strongest pack to ally with much greater packs but we couldn't do that if the Moon Star pack still stays at the top. 

"Alpha, they had honored the invitation, and as we speak right now. Alpha Scott of the Moon star pack is on his way," Neo my gamma spoke after a long silence. 

A mischievous smile immediately crept in the moment I heard what was said. My head nodded slightly in understanding while I rolled the paper on the desk, 

"And how is the preparation setting in?" I asked, knowing for sure that I trusted Neo more than my beta Elliot. 

"Why do they have moon star packs as a pack name? Do they perhaps have the luck of the moon Goddess on their side that we do not have?" Neo asked, causing a frown on my face. 

Neo must have noticed the frown on my face as he instantly bowed his head in respect. 

"Forgive me Alpha," he simply said. 

There was no response from me as I slowly looked through the window to notice the prisoners in my pack grab hefty bags of potatoes on their back to the store room. 

"I think you should count yourself lucky that I'm in a good mood," I said before patting his shoulders and walking out of the door. 

"Alpha, he has arrived!" A guard instantly told me and I understood exactly what he meant without asking further.

Yes, Alpha Scott from the Moon star pack has been the most prominent Alpha in the whole world. He was known even before he was born into the world, he was known to be a good luck to his pack and any pack who he had allied with.

I had tried my best to show my father that I could get my pack to the top but he would always belittle me in front of the maids, and guards and even compare me to Scott which I hated. 

Here I was standing in front of the Almighty Scott they talked about. I watched as my pack guards grabbed his bags, Elliot and Neo stood behind me in silence.

I stood there while we observed one another without saying a word. I had only heard about him and never for once met him, I had just taken over duty after my father fell sick. 

He looked reserved, he seemed calm but had that possessive feeling that he was someone who couldn't be stepped on and I hated it too. 

He seemed like somebody who wouldn't make things easy but nothing was obviously stopping me. 

I needed the power he had. 

"Alpha Hercules, what a great pack." He said but I could sense his mocking tone. 

"Alpha Scott, thank you for honoring my invitation and how is your mother doing?" I asked back.

"Very well, I almost mistook you for your father. How is his health?" He asked as a forced smile popped on my face.

"Alpha, Lady Eden is here!" A guard notified me. 

I cracked a small smile, a proud smile at that moment as I watched Eden walk toward where I stood.

I had sent my guards to summon her and she had arrived at the right time. She slowly bowed her head at me as I gently held her by the hands before introducing her to Alpha Scott. 

"This is my mate Eden!" I said as I watched them closely. 

"Hello Alpha Scott, I have heard so many great things about you." Eden had said but I was completely caught off guard when Scott had hugged Eden.

I could feel my wolf jump in my head in happiness. 

"Please forgive me, that is exactly how I genuinely say congrats." I watched Scott say in a stutter. 

I smiled before nodding my head in calmness and composure. "You don't have to apologize, it's not like you have come to steal my Luna right?" I asked with a chuckle. 

I turned and stared at Eden who had a weak and yet confused smile on her face.

"Alright, you must be tired from your journey. I had lunch prepared already but you and your guards would be shown to your own quarters for your stay!" I said with another forced smile. 

At each stare, I would catch Scott stealing glances at the beta's daughter Eliot. 

Yes, Eden was Eliot's only daughter and he was my beta who was way older than me but he still gives me the respect as the Alpha and would do anything I ask him to do. 

Eden was a very beautiful she wolf and a lot of male wolves would kill to have her as their mate but I wasn't driven by her beauty. 

I had never found her attractive but she had become so unlucky when I found out that she was Alpha Scott's mate. 

How unlucky. 

THREE MONTH AGO

FORBIDDEN TOWER

The forbidden tower is a place that had been forbidden by my father the Alpha.

It was a place where the most powerful witch was banished to, it was an old building with different mysterious things. 

My father the Alpha had forbidden anybody from going there but I was going against that today even after Neo had tried to talk me out of it. 

I needed a solution to get my pack to ally with strong packs and get my father's sickness gone but to do that I had to do something. 

I was presently standing in front of Lizzarous, the old witch. 

"What has brought you into my castle?" She asked her voice strangely chilling. 

"I need your help Lizzarous, I need to help my sick father but I can't do that because my pack isn't even a strong one. I need my pack to become known and strong!" I said.

"And what do I get in return?" She asked walking towards me with dirty chocolate-looking teeth and strands of hair on her head. 

"You can tell me, what do you want?" I responded back in question. 

"I want to come back to leaving in the pack and consider everything you have asked for done!" She said leaving me stunned.

My father had no idea that I had come here and it would be bad if he even later finds out am associating with Lizzarous. 

"Make me the strongest and most powerful!" I said in response.
