I looked down at the papers. Where ‘DIVORCE AGREEMENT’ was written in bold words. My heart tightened. “I will give you $20 million as compensation for taking three years off your life. You played your role as the Luna of the frostwood pack beautifully. Everyone loves you dearly in this pack. You're the apple of their eyes. I didn't expect you to handle the pack so well. You amazed me. Thank you for everything.” “I did all this from my heart. It was my responsibility. And I always see them as my second family. And I don't want anything from you. But I only want to ask you one thing. Give me the answer honestly.” I looked up at him with my tear-filled eyes. He looked stunned but masked it the next moment. “Have you ever, even for a moment felt something for me, in these three years?” I hated it when my voice came out as a creak in the end. He turned his face away from me. And came his cold reply. “No.” I felt my heart shattered. Tears rolled down from my eyes. I wanted to grab him by his collar and ask him if he never felt anything for me then why did show care about me. Why was he so good to me? When we slept together for the first time, even though he was drunk, why was he so gentle with me? He didn't have sex but made love to me. He made me feel so special. Was that all a lie? How funny! “Why were you so good to me Cyrus?” I finally managed to ask him. He turned his head slightly to look at me. “Then did you want me to be harsh on you? I'm not that kind of man who treats women badly. I was just kind to you. And maybe, you misunderstood my kindness to something else. It's not my fault. It's your fault. You clearly knew what our relationship was from the beginning.” His cold words were cutting through my heart. It was useless to ask anything to him. Because the more I discover the more I'll be hurt. It's better to be unknown. The truth is there is no place for me in his life. Since the true Luna is back, I’ve to step down from my place. It was foolish of me to forget our deal. There's no point in blaming him. “You shouldn't be so good to me. I also have emotions like others. The way you treated me, anyone would be fooled by your affection. And you should know people's hearts always yearn for love, a little affection.” I felt my hand shaking as I picked up the pen. I quickly signed my name on it and placed the pen back. “Here. Now you’re free from this marriage. I wish you a happy life with the one you love.” It was so hard to breathe. I felt like I was dying from inside. But still I managed to say those lines to him before I left. “It's late. You can leave tomorrow.” He said in a low tone. “You don't have to bother about it. I can take care of myself. Goodbye, Cyrus.” Saying that I whirled around and stormed out of the study. I flinched at the loud noise coming from the living room. I looked down to see my Mother-in-law threw a plate on the floor. “How dare you bring Mango cake for Athena. She's allergic to mango. Do you want to kill her?” My brows furrowed at her words. So that means she's also allergic to mangoes. Just like me. Huh! How ironic. “I didn't know, Madam. Please have mercy on me. It won't happen again.” I heard the maid say, falling on her knees before my mother-in-law begging for mercy. “Let me tell you clearly this time. I won't allow any mistake again. Next time you mess up, you will be fired.” Pointing her finger at the maid she warned her in her murderous tone. “It's okay, Aunty. Don't scold this poor soul. It's fine. She's new here. She didn't know. It's not her fault. Please forgive her. I'm sure she won't make the same mistakes again.” Athena said softly while helping the maid to stand up, acting like an angel. “Don’t be afraid. It's okay to make mistakes sometimes. I have forgiven you. Remember it from now on, I'm allergic to Mango. And I have stomach issues so I can't have heavy food and spice. Because now I'll be your Luna. If you do your work properly then I might appoint you as my personal maid.” The maid’s eyes went wide at her words. Then she quickly nodded her head. “I’ll remember it. And thank you for your mercy. I’ll be loyal to you.” Athena smiled at her. “Good. Clean the mess please.” The maid hurried back to fetch the cleaning supplies. This scene reminded me of the scene when a maid gave me mango muss to eat but Cyrus threw it to the floor and yelled at the maid. At that time I was shocked how he knew that I was allergic to mango. But now I understood he was habitual of taking care of Athena. He never knew about my allergy. And now I understood why he always used to tell me to have light food to avoid triggering my stomach issues. When I never had any stomach issues. I thought he was concerned about my health. But he wasn't. I was so stupid to think he cared about me so much while it was just his habit. I couldn't take this anymore so I strode back to my room and closed the door behind me with a thud. I walked towards the nightstand and picked up my phone. I dialed one number. The call was received after three rings. “Adriel, come and pick me up from the Frostwood Pack right now.” “Whoa! Girl. What happened to you suddenly? Are you alright!” His voice was filled with concern. “Don't ask anything. Just come and pick me up as soon as possible. I'm not in a condition to explain my situation now. We will talk later.” “Okay, fine. Calm down. I’ll be there in an hour. Give me some time.” He assured me with his soft voice. “Come quickly. I'm waiting for you.” saying that I cut the call and sat on the bed. After some time there was a knock on the door. I got up to open the door. I was taken aback seeing Athena standing in front of my door. ‘What is she doing here now? What does she want from me?’Cyrus couldn't even lift his head. Every word was true.“When I found out I was pregnant, I was terrified. I kept wondering how I should tell you..I decided I'd tell you after you returned from your business trip.”A hollow laugh escaped her lips. “But you came back with Athena. And before I could tell you anything. You threw divorce papers at my face.”She looked straight into his eyes. “So tell me, Cyrus. When exactly was I supposed to tell you? The moment you told me you were leaving me? Or after you chose another woman over your own wife?”Cyrus remained speechless. There wasn't a single word he could use to defend himself.“You have no right to blame me for keeping Isla's existence a secret. You made that choice yourself the day you walked away from our marriage.”Her voice softened, but the pain remained. “I'll never stop you from being their father. They deserve to know you. But don't expect me to forget what happened. Some wounds heal. But they never disappear.”With that, Mel
“I know a single 'sorry' can never make things right.” Cyrus's voice was hoarse. His head remained lowered, unable to meet Melania's eyes. “I'm deeply sorry for everything you had to endure over these past six years. If I hadn't believed Athena... if I hadn't brought her back into my life... if I hadn't divorced you... none of this would have happened.” His fingers curled into fists at his sides. “I can't undo the past. I can't erase your pain. But I'll do anything within my power to make amends. Just tell me... what do you want from me?” Before this conversation, Cyrus had asked to speak with Melania alone. Raymond had been reluctant to let his wife meet her ex-husband in private. However, after Melania assured him it was only to discuss Kenji, he reluctantly agreed. Now, silence stretched between the former mates. Melania looked at the broken man standing before her. The proud Alpha who had once shattered her heart now couldn't even lift his head. “I don't blame you for everyt
Cyrus stood outside Kenji's bedroom for a long moment. His trembling hand slowly reached for the doorknob. With a soft click, the door opened. The room was dimly lit by the moonlight streaming through the window.Kenji lay asleep on his little bed, his tiny body curled beneath the blanket. His peaceful face was a sharp contrast to the storm raging inside Cyrus's heart. For several seconds, Cyrus simply stood there. He couldn't bring himself to move. This was the same room. The same room where he had once found his son unconscious after Athena had locked him inside as punishment. That memory stabbed his heart mercilessly.Slowly, he walked over and knelt beside the bed. His eyes never left the little boy sleeping peacefully. How many nights had Kenji cried himself to sleep? How many times had he silently begged for help? And where had he been?Working.Trusting the wrong woman.Failing as a father. With trembling fingers, Cyrus gently held Kenji's tiny hand. It was so small and fragile
"Isla, sweetheart." Melania called softly as the little girl happily ate her breakfast.Isla looked up and smiled. "Yes, Mama?"Melania exchanged a brief glance with Raymond before turning her attention back to her daughter."Tell me something. You've always missed your twin brother, haven't you?"Isla nodded without hesitation. "I miss him every day."Melania reached across the table and gently held her daughter's little hand. "What if. What if your brother never died? What if he has been alive all this time? What would you do?"Isla blinked in confusion. She tilted her head innocently. "Then we would bring him home, Mama."She smiled brightly before asking, "But why are you asking me this?"Melania's eyes became misty. She gently stroked Isla's hair. "Because your brother didn't die. He was taken away from us. He was stolen."For a few seconds, Isla simply stared at her mother. She didn't even blink. Then excitement suddenly lit up her face."My brother is alive?"Melania nodded wit
"Melania, I have something to show you."When Melania stepped out of the shower that night, she stood before the vanity, gently applying her night cream. Raymond's voice made her look at him through the mirror."What is it?" she asked curiously."You finish first," Raymond replied, forcing a small smile. "Then I'll show you."Melania frowned slightly. Something was wrong.Ever since Raymond had entered their bedroom, he had been acting unusually quiet. His eyes seemed troubled, as though he were carrying a burden too heavy to bear. Still, she chose not to question him. If he was ready to tell her, he would."Okay."After finishing her skincare routine, she turned around only to find the bedroom empty. She stepped onto the balcony.Raymond stood there with both hands resting on the railing, staring silently into the darkness. The cool night breeze ruffled his hair, but he didn't seem to notice. She quietly walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist."What happened? You
"What did you say? You really found out who helped Athena that night?" Raymond rose abruptly from his chair, unable to hide his shock.Gamma Aaron nodded. "Yes, Alpha. Livia sought Adriel's help. It was Adriel who tracked down the daughter of the nurse who assisted Athena in stealing the baby."Raymond's expression turned grim. "Where is the nurse now?"Aaron lowered his gaze. "She's dead. She was murdered five years ago. We still don't know who killed her, but judging by the timing, there's a high possibility she was silenced to keep the truth buried."Raymond clenched his fists. "As expected. They've been cleaning up loose ends for years."Aaron continued, "Fortunately, before she died, the nurse had confessed everything to her daughter. Her daughter secretly recorded the confession and kept it hidden all these years, fearing she would be killed as well. She finally handed the recording over to Adriel."Aaron placed a flash drive on Raymond's desk. "It contains the full confession."
