MELANIA….

I looked down at the papers. Where ‘DIVORCE AGREEMENT’ was written in bold words. My heart tightened.

“I will give you $20 million as compensation for taking three years off your life. You played your role as the Luna of the frostwood pack beautifully. Everyone loves you dearly in this pack. You're the apple of their eyes. I didn't expect you to handle the pack so well. You amazed me. Thank you for everything.”

“I did all this from my heart. It was my responsibility. And I always see them as my second family. And I don't want anything from you. But I only want to ask you one thing. Give me the answer honestly.”

I looked up at him with my tear-filled eyes. He looked stunned but masked it the next moment. “Have you ever, even for a moment felt something for me, in these three years?” I hated it when my voice came out as a creak in the end.

He turned his face away from me. And came his cold reply. “No.”

I felt my heart shattered. Tears rolled down from my eyes. I wanted to grab him by his collar and ask him if he never felt anything for me then why did show care about me. Why was he so good to me? When we slept together for the first time, even though he was drunk, why was he so gentle with me? He didn't have sex but made love to me. He made me feel so special. Was that all a lie?

How funny!

“Why were you so good to me Cyrus?” I finally managed to ask him.

He turned his head slightly to look at me. “Then did you want me to be harsh on you? I'm not that kind of man who treats women badly. I was just kind to you. And maybe, you misunderstood my kindness to something else. It's not my fault. It's your fault. You clearly knew what our relationship was from the beginning.” His cold words were cutting through my heart. It was useless to ask anything to him. Because the more I discover the more I'll be hurt. It's better to be unknown.

The truth is there is no place for me in his life. Since the true Luna is back, I’ve to step down from my place. It was foolish of me to forget our deal. There's no point in blaming him.

“You shouldn't be so good to me. I also have emotions like others. The way you treated me, anyone would be fooled by your affection. And you should know people's hearts always yearn for love, a little affection.” I felt my hand shaking as I picked up the pen. I quickly signed my name on it and placed the pen back.

“Here. Now you’re free from this marriage. I wish you a happy life with the one you love.” It was so hard to breathe. I felt like I was dying from inside. But still I managed to say those lines to him before I left.

“It's late. You can leave tomorrow.” He said in a low tone.

“You don't have to bother about it. I can take care of myself. Goodbye, Cyrus.” Saying that I whirled around and stormed out of the study.

I flinched at the loud noise coming from the living room. I looked down to see my Mother-in-law threw a plate on the floor. “How dare you bring Mango cake for Athena. She's allergic to mango. Do you want to kill her?”

My brows furrowed at her words. So that means she's also allergic to mangoes. Just like me.

Huh!

How ironic.

“I didn't know, Madam. Please have mercy on me. It won't happen again.” I heard the maid say, falling on her knees before my mother-in-law begging for mercy.

“Let me tell you clearly this time. I won't allow any mistake again. Next time you mess up, you will be fired.” Pointing her finger at the maid she warned her in her murderous tone.

“It's okay, Aunty. Don't scold this poor soul. It's fine. She's new here. She didn't know. It's not her fault. Please forgive her. I'm sure she won't make the same mistakes again.” Athena said softly while helping the maid to stand up, acting like an angel.

“Don’t be afraid. It's okay to make mistakes sometimes. I have forgiven you. Remember it from now on, I'm allergic to Mango. And I have stomach issues so I can't have heavy food and spice. Because now I'll be your Luna. If you do your work properly then I might appoint you as my personal maid.” The maid’s eyes went wide at her words.

Then she quickly nodded her head. “I’ll remember it. And thank you for your mercy. I’ll be loyal to you.”

Athena smiled at her. “Good. Clean the mess please.” The maid hurried back to fetch the cleaning supplies.

This scene reminded me of the scene when a maid gave me mango muss to eat but Cyrus threw it to the floor and yelled at the maid. At that time I was shocked how he knew that I was allergic to mango. But now I understood he was habitual of taking care of Athena.

He never knew about my allergy. And now I understood why he always used to tell me to have light food to avoid triggering my stomach issues. When I never had any stomach issues. I thought he was concerned about my health. But he wasn't. I was so stupid to think he cared about me so much while it was just his habit.

I couldn't take this anymore so I strode back to my room and closed the door behind me with a thud. I walked towards the nightstand and picked up my phone. I dialed one number. The call was received after three rings.

“Adriel, come and pick me up from the Frostwood Pack right now.”

“Whoa! Girl. What happened to you suddenly? Are you alright!” His voice was filled with concern.

“Don't ask anything. Just come and pick me up as soon as possible. I'm not in a condition to explain my situation now. We will talk later.”

“Okay, fine. Calm down. I’ll be there in an hour. Give me some time.” He assured me with his soft voice.

“Come quickly. I'm waiting for you.” saying that I cut the call and sat on the bed.

After some time there was a knock on the door. I got up to open the door. I was taken aback seeing Athena standing in front of my door.

‘What is she doing here now? What does she want from me?’

CYRUS…..I was rooted to the spot as my eyes landed on her.Melania.Six years.Six long years had passed since the last time I saw her, yet the sight of her still managed to steal the air from my lungs. She had changed. So much that for a moment I wondered if this was truly the same woman I once knew. The light in her eyes was gone. There was a time when her eyes used to sparkle with life, mischievous, warm, full of fire. Looking at them had always felt like standing under the warmth of the sun.Now there was nothing like that. Those same eyes held only coldness.Sharp.Distant.Untouchable.She used to look like sunshine itself, bright, lively, impossible to ignore. An angel who filled every room with her presence. But the woman standing in front of me now was different. She looked powerful.Composed.Untouchable.Like a queen carved from ice.And somehow…That change hurt far more than I expected. Because I knew, deep down, that the girl she used to be had disappeared long ago. An

MELANIA…..“Mama, I want to play with the kids. Can I?” Elisa asked, her bright eyes already scanning the garden where laughter and excited shouts echoed from the other children.“Sure,” I replied, smoothing down the front of her little dress. “But I will take you there.” Elisa nodded obediently and slipped her small hand into mine. The palace garden was beautifully decorated for the celebration. Soft lights hung from the trees, and the air carried the sweet scent of blooming roses. In one corner, several children were running around and playing games while a few attendants kept an eye on them from a distance. As soon as we approached, Elisa’s grip loosened. “Go on,” I said with a small smile. She didn’t need to be told twice. My little whirlwind ran toward the children with her usual boundless energy.I stood a few steps away, watching her.But the peaceful moment didn’t last long.Suddenly, Elisa stopped running. Her small brows knitted together as she looked toward the far side of

CYRUS…..I adjusted my tie for the tenth time. The mirror reflected a powerful Alpha. But tonight, I felt like a coward.“I don’t know why Athena is taking so long,” I muttered under my breath, glancing at the clock again. Two hours. She had been getting ready in her room for two hours. She said she would join me once she was dressed for the party. I have no desire to attend this anniversary party. But I have no choice since it's Alpha King's thirty-five years anniversary party. He threw a huge party to celebrate their big day. However, it wasn't the event that was bothering me. It's that I didn't know how to face Melania at the party. She will be there with her new family. And it hurts to see her with another man. When she was mine, I never cherished her. But when she's not longer in my life, now I realised what I have lost. I didn't realise how important she was in my life. I didn't realize when she made place in my heart. I thought I still loved Athena only to realise later that

MELANIA….✦ SIX YEARS LATER ✦“Elisa, stop running!” I called out, lifting the small bowl in my hand as I chased after her across the living room. “You need to eat. If you don’t eat, you’ll grow weak and you won’t be able to run like this anymore.”My five-year-old daughter only laughed, that mischievous, musical laugh that always reminded me of sunshine after a storm.“Mommy, I don’t like veggies!” she protested dramatically, ducking behind the couch. “I want meat. Give me meat and I’ll eat. You should know meat has protein, and protein makes me strong.”She pointed a tiny finger at me as if she had just won a court case. “And you always say strong wolves survive.” I narrowed my eyes on her. This little devil. She remembers everything I say, only to use it against me.“Don’t twist my words, Elisa Vittoria,” I warned, though I was already losing the battle. Before I could grab her, a deep voice echoed through the living room.“What’s happening here?”Elisa gasped dramatically as if sh

MELANIA…..The first gunshot tore through the silence.I woke up with a violent jolt, my hands flying instinctively to my stomach. The baby kicked hard, as if sensing my fear. My heart pounded so fiercely it made me dizzy.Another blast echoed through the packhouse.“Easy… easy…” I whispered to myself, breathing through the sudden tightness in my belly. At eight months pregnant, even getting out of bed felt like a task but adrenaline pushed me forward.I forced myself up, gripping the bed for balance before shuffling toward the door. Every step felt heavy, my swollen stomach pulling at my spine. When I opened the door, my knees nearly gave out as I found Fabio lying there. Blood spread beneath him, soaking into the marble floor. His body was twisted unnaturally, his eyes open, lifeless. The man who never left my side, who promised to protect me and my child.“Fabio…” My voice came out broken as I clutched my stomach, panic flaring when another sharp movement rippled inside me.Then I

MELANIA….Four Months Later…..Four months passed in the blink of an eye. Time did not slow down for grief, danger, or even joy. It moved forward relentlessly, carrying me with it. I was eight months pregnant now.My body had transformed in ways I never imagined. My belly was round and prominent, a constant reminder that two lives were growing inside me. Some days, I felt like a warrior carrying the future within her; other days, I felt fragile, exhausted, and overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility pressing down on my shoulders. The pack had adjusted quickly. They watched me with a mixture of reverence and concern, as if I were both their Alpha and something precious that could shatter if handled wrong. No one questioned my authority anymore. If anything, they obeyed faster, sharper because they knew I was not just leading for myself, but for the future heirs of Silver Crest.Raymond rarely left my side. If I was in the study, he stood near the door.If I walked through the gar
