Chapter 4

Helena's POV

I felt like my arm is going to burn. The woman's grip is very painful. What kind of woman is she? Why does she have this kind of power? Her hand is very powerful. If she will keep on holding my arm longer I'm sure that my body will suddenly burn and turns into ashes. And it's Duncan's fault. This woman likes him and she thinks that I seduce him that's why she wants to kill me.

"Let go of my arm!" I shouted at her. I feel like my internal organs are boiling. 

"You must die, bitch! You want to snatch my alpha? Then I will burn your body and turns it into ashes!" the woman said while grinning. She looks happy that I felt pain all over my body.

"Auria! Let her go!" the angry voice of Duncan who finally arrived to save me. He approaches us and snatches my arm from the woman who is called Auria and pushes her with strong energy. The woman get hurt and couldn't believe that Duncan hurts her for me. "What do you think you're doing, Auria? Are you going to kill my luna?" Duncan glared at Auria.

"Who's your luna? I am not your luna, Duncan. Please let me go. Just let this woman be your luna," I pleaded with him. I don't want to put myself in danger because of him.

"Shut up or I will rip your mouth," he gives me a warning and scary look so I shut my mouth. I don't know his attitude so I'm scared that he will really do what he said.

"I couldn't believe that you could hurt me because of that unknown woman, Duncan. Who am I to you? I am your childhood sweetheart but you choose to hurt me to save that wench?" shouted Auria while pointing her finger at me.

"You are wrong, Auria. You are not my childhood sweetheart but only my childhood friend. And this woman that you've hurt is my luna. So stop your evil thoughts about her or else I will forget that you are my friend and might kill you," Duncan warned Auria. 

I thought at this moment that Duncan is very scary and heartless. If he could hurt his childhood friend then it means that he can also hurt me who has no deep connection with him.

"How dare you, Duncan! I dedicated my whole life to becoming your luna but you just suddenly brought an unknown girl and announced to everyone that she will be your luna? I can't accept it and I won't accept it! Never !" Auria shouted furiously at Duncan.  

In one step, Duncan immediately grabbed Auria's neck and tightly strangled the woman. "I'm the alpha of our Silver Wolf Pack so I know who my luna is! And I'm going to tell you straight, Auria. You're not my luna and you will never be the one. Did you hear me? You will never become my luna!" Duncan's eyes were on fire as he answered firmly the woman whose eyes were burning with anger too.

"Auria was right. She is your childhood sweetheart so she should be your luna, Duncan. Let her be your luna and then let me go so everybody will be happy," I interrupted their conversation.  Instead of siding with me because I was on her side, Auria shot me a sharp look. The anger I see in her eyes is terrifying. She was actually willing to kill anyone just to fight for her love for Alpha Duncan. 

"You shut up! I don't need your pretense acting that you don't want to be with Duncan! You hypocrite!" Auria shouted at me. If only her stare could burn me just like her hands I certainly turn to ashes at this moment. "I know that you're just pretending that you don't like his luna but the truth is you are secretly enjoying his attention and that he wants you to be his luna!"

What's wrong with this woman? I keep on telling her that I don't like to be Duncan's luna but she is very stubborn. Why can't she just believe my words and help me escape from here rather than make me her enemy and quarrel with me?

"I told you to shut up," Duncan gives me a warning look and then faces Auria again. "Don't let me know that you hurt her again or else you don't like what I'm going to do with you," he said before letting go of Auria's neck. He grabs my hand and pulls me away from the furious woman.

"Wait, Duncan. Can you please listen to what I'm going to—"

I couldn't finish my words because he suddenly lifted me and puts me on his shoulder. He carried me back to my room as if I were not a human but just a sack of rice. He didn't listen to me no matter how much I beg him to put me down. And when we reach inside my room he carelessly throws me to bed as if he is just throwing a soft pillow.

"Stay here and don't go out. You are not allowed to go out. Understand?" Duncan yelled at me. His fierce eyes glared at me and it makes me chill. He is really scary. "And I will make it clear with you that except you no one could be my luna."

Duncan slam the door when he left me and it makes me speechless. Now I know why he is mad. It's because until now I still didn't accept to be his luna.

I got up from the bed and just sat on the side of it. I removed my sleeve so that I could examine my skin which seemed to be touched earlier by the lava-like heat of Auria's hand. I winced at the sight of my skin being red and swollen but miraculously it didn't look like I got burned my skin when I felt earlier that my whole body was being burned. What kind of world I'm in? Why there are many things in this world that I couldn't understand and that seem impossible to believe?
