The rest of the dinner went rather smoothly. I was introduced to some of the wolves whilst before Mikaela could make me acquainted with the rest, James had excused her. I sighed at the sight before me. Their pup had caused some trouble for them and by the looks, James looked quite displeased with his male. I felt pity for the little wolf for his eyes were squinted down with his hands crossed in front as his head hung low.

It was infuriating how I couldn't hear them despite being a wolf. It felt like, the longer my wolf was in hibernation, the more senses I was losing.

Kral sniffed back his tears as James stood with hands over his waist as he scolded the poor soul while Mikaela stood beside her mate with glistening eyes. What had this poor male done to deserve his father's wrath?

"Kral can sometimes get hard to handle."

I jumped startled to look over my shoulder. Augustus stood just behind me, his face close to the side of his face as he looked at the scene in front. His body merely touched mine, but I could feel his scorching heat.

"I feel pity for him. Why must James be so cruel with his son?" Augustus chuckled at my words, his head dipping down against my hairs as he heaved a deep breath.

"You won't understand for you do not have a male of your own." My chest tightened. "But when you do, you'll know how tiresome it may get sometimes."

Male. A pup. Of my own.

"You sound like someone with a great experience." I rolled my eyes. My words had Augustus stiffen behind me. Sensing the density of the situation, I turned around only to crash against his hard chest before he encircled his arms around my waist to steady me. He settled his fiery palms over the covered flesh of my back, evoking goosebumps.

"What if I tell you it's true?" Though his words were supposed to be a joke, the seriousness his oceanic orbs held told me otherwise. We held each other's gaze for an agonizing second, the sincerity, the truth, the seriousness, I could feel it through his body. His lips no longer curled in a teasing grin yet a look of seriousness plastered over his heavenly features.

What did it mean?

"I-I...." I was at loss for words. Nor do I know what to say nor how to process the stillness. Did it mean what I believe it to be?

My heartfelt heavy and with a shaking breath, I untangle myself from his grasp.

"I didn't know that you have a mate. How indecent of me to think otherwise." I muttered under my breath, tears clasping onto the corners as I quickly turned around not letting him see my defenselessness.

"It's not your fault, I'm the one to blame." I clenched my eyes shut. So it was true. Was I being deceived? Why was my heart-shattering? Why was this happening to me? Was I that sinful to even wish for happiness?

I clenched my fists tightly, eyes shut in hopes of this pain to go away. And when I felt his flesh caressing the sides of my waist, I couldn't help but flinch. It wasn't good for I knew how sinful was it to touch someone else in a way you touch your moon blessed and with this thought I pulled away from his reach.

My eyes must be red by now as I swiftly turned towards him only to be greeted by his astonished eyes.

"You can not touch me like this. You have a mate and you should be loyal to her. It's against the law of the moon." My tear-filled eyes narrowed at him. I could not believe that the man I deemed of being a real gentleman could be so unfaithful to his moon blessed?

He sighed, crossing his arms over his muscular chest.

"Me having mate doesn't change the way I feel for you." I scoffed, wiping my cheeks.

"Are you even listening to yourself right now? Feel for me? How can you say nonsense like this?" The aftermath of brokenness now had converted into a rage. I despised men who treat their mates as bodies to only warm their beds. I had seen a lot who escort several women at the same time when they even had a mate to spend their eternity with.

"Do not touch me!" I growled when he took a step in my direction. At that moment it didn't matter if he was an Alpha or someone more powerful than me. No. I just saw a man who was deceiving his moon blessed.

My words took Augustus off guard for his eyes widened for a slight second before he clenched his fists whilst his eyes narrowed. The muscle of his jaw twitched and I felt power radiating off him that almost scared me. Almost.

"Now my touch disgusts you?" I took a step back at his one forward. I maybe was rebellious, but I knew for sure that I wouldn't be able to keep my cool for long for now he was in his Alpha mode.

"I do not want to get myself in trouble, Alpha Augustus. Please move aside, I need to go." K was even relieved that my voice wasn't shaking now. Whilst I couldn't help the tremble of my hands. His oceanic blues held mine in a captivating gaze.

He sneered at my words.

"The fact that I have a mate wasn't more of a problem a few minutes ago. What changed?" His monotonic words caused embarrassment to reside inside me and I averted my gaze.

"Things were different then. I did not know you had a mate-"

"And I have a pup also. Does that makes you more disgusted?" I closed my eyes, my fists clenched and more tears cascaded down.

"Alpha-"

"Augustus. I never allowed you to address me with such title."

This was sick. I couldn't stand this anymore for I knew I wouldn't be able to stand my guard longer.

"You're being absurd right now. Please excuse me, I need to rest." To leave, I tried to move past him when a scream left my throat. Augustus had circled his arm around my waist before I felt myself being caged between the railing and his bulky arms.

My breathing shortened at this proximity and my eyes widened with fear of what he might do to me. Now that I have come to desensitize to the ways Alphas play, fear started invading my tense body. Too much had happened in the past few minutes. No. Not only minutes but days, months, and years, I was already accustomed to Xerxes ways that I feared every other man who lay his hands on me without my permission. I was going from clutches on one man to another, all while chasing a dream of freedom.

Before the fear could grow, spread, and convert into a panic attack, Augustus caressed the side of my neck. His hovering fingers barely touched yet I felt them igniting sensations of desire, leaving me whining for more. My breathing slowed and I found his sense of comforting me delusional.

"I never lied to you, cupcake. My intentions were never to hurt you. I admit I shouldn't have kept something this vital from you, but it seemed trivial to me." I found myself closing my eyes and leaning into his warmth of my own accord, a fact that I was sure would haunt me. My horrible deed of trusting undeserving people had become my downfall in a way that I now couldn't even trust myself.

"How can it be irrelevant when it involved feelings of three souls?" My voice was soft against the wind that caressed his ears and his arm moved to wrap around my torso and helped pull me further against him. I caught glimpse of his hair when he rested his head on my shoulder, nuzzling my neck with a groan before inhaling deeply.

"Fuck." He cursed quietly but his tone was tense. His arm tightened as the emotion in the single word send a shiver down my spine.

"I crave you in the most indecent form, Katarina. I do not know why I feel this way for I never experienced it, but you make it harder for me to keep myself in control. I want you, cupcake and this makes me crazy." By this time I couldn't understand why his words make me feel butterflies all over. Even though I knew how wrong it was, it didn't feel that way. With Xerxes, there were never butterflies, only fire. But Augustus, he's making me feel something Xerxes never could.

I want to push him away for keeping things from me. He needed to stop. But my body was submitting to him. I couldn't understand why I was being like this, but I was becoming dependent on him. A shameless moan escaped my lewd mouth as his fingers were replaced with his warm lips, soft just like a cloud and sinful like commendable sins. My hands found their way to his chest and his body visibly tensed against mine. His lips devoured my neck whilst I threw my head back in immense pleasure.

"Fuck! I can not wait."

A gasp left my mouth as my eyes looked over his shoulder to a younger version of him.

Shit.

  • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   New beginning

“Xerina! Stop right there! It’s dangerous!” Luca’s shouts filled the air as he chased after me. His voice was irritated and concerned as I laughed and ran through the forest. Jumping over the lodges of wood and hay, I was covered in mud and dirt. Everyone in the pack loved how energetic and relaxed I was even though I was going to get a better earful of scolds from my father later. But now he had gotten quite used to my tactics. “Hurry up, Luca!” I screeched dashing down the muddy road that led to the cave just between the forest. I stopped when my breathing become haggard and I could no longer hear Luca behind me. Where was he? Did I lose him? A grin managed to creep on my face at the thought. Now I would be able to enjoy myself-“Ah!” A scream left my mouth when Luca suddenly jumped in front of me. Faking a startled gasp I narrowed my eyes at him. “You scared me.”“It’s enough, let’s go back.” He panted as he grabbed my wrist and I jerked my hand back. Placing both of my hands on my

In that captivating moment, as he lifted one of his legs gracefully in the air, a surge of anticipation pulsed through me. It was as if time had momentarily stood still, allowing us to surrender to the intensity of our connection. His fervent kiss upon my ankle ignited a fiery passion that resonated with the same depth as his kisses upon my lips. With each deliberate movement, he embarked on a seductive journey along the contours of my leg, his tongue tracing a tantalizing path. A tender pause at my knee ensued, where his lips delicately danced, leaving an imprint of affection that sent shivers of pleasure cascading through my entire being. The sheer intimacy of his touch captured my senses, causing me to succumb to an all-encompassing desire that left me vulnerable and yearning. As he descended upon my thigh, his tongue became an instrument of pure ecstasy. • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   wedding night

There weren’t too many people, but I was so nervous all of sudden. I was mucous since morning, even Aurora had scolded me once in between that I was being paranoid for no reason. Well, damn her. It was not like I was getting married everyday. We had completed our rituals for the ceremony, and now I wa awaiting for my mate to come and take me to our shared chambers to consummate the marriage. I was fidgeting with my fingers when I looked myself in the mirror. Wearing a white wedding dress that reached my ankles and a deep cut over the neck that was decorated with lace. The door opened and I gasped as Xerxes stepped inside wearing his black tuxedo. I blushed. He looked so handsome and beautiful that it was almost unrealistic. I averted my gaze from his with embarrassment as he smirked and stepped forward. “You ready?” He asked in his masculine voice and I shyly nodded. Leaning down to my face, he brushed his lips against my cheek. “I can not wait anymore.” I could senses his arousal. P

  • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   Epilogue

“Papa! Papa!” I peered through the kitchen door at my three-year-old running through the lobby and rushing to her father. An unpleased frown on her face as she immediately looked at her father with a pout on her lips. “Luca scolded me.”Faking a frown, my husband scooped the little bundle of joy in his arms and cradled her in his lap. “Why?” He asked wiping the remnants of chocolate on the corner of her lips. Xerina was fond of sweets and probably Luca found her chocolate hiding spot, that’s why he scolded her. Xerina’s eyes visibly narrowed while she glared at her father. “He stole my choci-chose.” She complained and I chuckled knowing I was right. Xerxes’s laugh filled the air and my chest squeezed–as it did every time I saw him with our family. Joy. Unrestrained joy and happiness. I would never tire of seeing him like this. “He did? Where did you get those from?” Xerxes asked shifting her and caressing her stuffed cheeks. She immediately looked away. “I-I…from mama.” My eyes wi

  • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   Remember

Her life these past years or more had been akin to sprinting through fog. When she often feel to the core of her soul that life was sacred, when she conclude that the natural world was woven into her heart–illusions and diabolical, that their love was all part of this great tapestry of creation, then she would finally be home. Then her Mother Moon would feel that she had returned. Finally in her arms. She loves her children equally. “We haven’t seen Alpha, there’s no sign of either of them,” one of the wolves said through the door. “But wolves are searching for them, the borders are seized.” Marcus bobbed his head and then his eyes moved to the bed. Aurora had gained consciousness a few hours back and on James’s instructions, she had been resting since then. Daniella was traumatised and he suggested she go back, but the little girl was too stubborn, she insisted on being here with her injured brother and Katarina. Katraina. Marcus was worried for her. She had lost so much blood and

  • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   Love is death

“Hold them down!” Marcus growled as he ducked through the hoard of rouges coming his way. He snarled with anger as several of them tried to hold him down. The battlegrounds were bloodied, but it didn’t stop him from shedding more as he tore them limb by limb. Some were in their wolf forms while others were inhuman, Marcus shifted into his wolf form and roared like a wild beast before running through the pile and making his way to the house where he last left Aurora. Aurora. Her name should bring him anger, malice and betrayal, but right now he couldn’t think that way. He should be angry at her that sleeping with another man before him, she gave birth to a pup who didn’t carry his blood, and she spiked their mate bond. But strangely, right now all he cared was about her. Nothing mattered. Nothing. He realised he had been hating her for nothing. He loved her, even knowing she had betrayed him. Their relationship was not that was built upon trust and love, but he could change that. He
