C H A P T E R - [ 6 ]

I stare at the girl in the mirror,who is me to ensure I look presentable and fit for a high social class party.I wear a bottle green colored dress with sparkles,it is a descent dress covering my body till knees and puffed full sleeves to hide the old scars on my forearms,a result of last week's beating.

I bought this dress years ago with my savings but never got a chance to wear it so having nothing to wear for a big party,I thought it will work.

"You look pretty my baby."Mom's happy squal brings me back in the present.I check my side profile to convince my low confidence about dressing like a real lady.

"Do you really think so?"I arch my right brow at her for more clearance.

She walks upto to me holding a box in her hands.I never saw it before in her handful personal stuffs so I look down at it suspiciously.

"This is for you.I want you to wear it tonight Clar."She placed the square brass box with beautiful carving on the dressing table and open it.She picks out a pair of emerald earrings and a thin white gold necklace with a heart-shaped emerald pendant.

"Mom where did you get this?"I gasp in surprise,my eyes blinked ferociously to believe on my eyes,"I mean they look so expensive and we are hardly keeping our head under the sheets."I look at her for explanation.

Rather than replying to my questions,she picks the necklace and tied it around my neck,the cold metal on my warm skin send a shiver all over my skin but indeed it goes well with my green dress.

"I have kept it safely from the eyes of Willie all these years because I wanted to gift it to you on your wedding but since you still not find your mate,I thought tonight you'd need it.It belongs to my great grandmother.You know she was the daughter of an Alpha of Bloodstone Pack.My great grandfather gifted it to her on their marking ceremony since then its passed to us."She explained me.

"This is the most beautiful piece of jewelry Mom."I hugged her tightly,"Thanks for passing it over to me.I promise you that I'll try my best to keep it safe."I kiss her cheeks.

"Hey girl now get ready fast.Your lover boy is waiting for you impatiently down the building."Mom grins mischievously,she thinks as I still don't find my mate,I can have a chance with Derek,who is only a friend  to me.

Her words shot through my already wounded heart.Someone else must be yearning for me but he pretends that I don't even exist.

Alas!We hardly shared a word with each other.

I didn't tell her either about my mate,who indirectly rejected me.I can't tell her that,it's too much for her weak heart to bear because no one better than her knows the pain of loosing a mate.

"He is just a friend Mom so don't rock your hopes high and he is a human so we have no chance."I give her a duh look.

Meanwhile my phone rang flashing Derek's number on the screen.

"I should get going now Mom.Take care of yourself hmm.I'll try to come back before eleven okay."I give her a loose hug before dashing out of our apartment.

"Sorry Derek I took more time."I apologize to Derek who has been waiting in his car tapping his fingers on the steering wheel while I seated on the passenger's seat.

His face turned to me and I can't miss the stunned look on his tanned face.

"You're looking stunning girl.Where was this Cinderella before?"He examins causing my cheeks blush.

"C'mon Derek we know you're just exaggerating.I am no Cinderella,in fact you would definitely find a Cindrella in the party."I laugh.

"Well I am actually looking forward to it,perhaps I find my soul mate there."He ignite the engine of the car and begin driving to our destination.

To say,it was like dreaming,fits my imagination as soon as I step down from the car.The new seven star hotel of Elliot Group stood magnificently in front of my eyes,bathed in lights.The wide compound,with trimmed grass and flowers in the artificial lights looks like I jumped into one of those parties,I've seen in the movies or T.V.

Suddenly I feel out of the place,all the men and women,mostly belong to rich high class in their expensive limited edition clothes are talking in sophisticated manner,not sparing a glance to a person standing a step away from them.And the second reason,instense multiple stares on me by other wolves present in the party,definately they are filled with disgust,one chance,if only one chance id given to them,I'd be laid in my bones and skins but I am glad that its a party full of mundanes.The pack wolves won't do anything stupid in a public place.

"Let's congratulate Mr. Elliot first,then we'll enioy ourselves Clarissa.I don't want to stay here for long.This is not my type of party,what do you say?"Derek pulled me in the direction in a certain corner where swarm of media can be seen which means Mr. Elliot is interacting with them.

"I think we should wait till he is done with media."I said to Derek feeling uncomfortable by the weird sensation inside me.Mia is becoming restless,pacing anxiously in my head but  what is the reason of her unexpected activeness.

"I can smell him,our mate.He is near us Clar."Mia becomes excited when I finally hear her voiced thoughts.

"I don't care Mia.He must be sucking the life out of that bimbo."I said bitterly to shut her mouth,it pains me everytime I imagine him with another women.

"Hey Cotton Candy I have been observing you since we entered in the party,you seem lost.Are you feeling okay?"Derek asks me with concern.

"No I am alright it just I want to use washroom."I wave my hand in the air to assure him but the reality is far from it.I am feeling vulnerable and pathetic.

"Okay let me escort you there,come with me."He placed his empty glass on the nearby table and gesture me to follow him.

"I can manage on my own Derek trust me.You should enjoy the party hmm."I stop him before he join me to the washroom area as my mate is here and I do not want to give him a wrong idea of hanging with another man like he does.

"You sure?"He asks again to confirm.

"Yup,don't worry I'll be back before you realise I am missing."I smile at him and made my way inside the hotel to find washroom which isn't very hard as there are guards in each corner.

Somewhere in my heart I have a faint hope,may be he realise his mistake and come to me,his mate,his true mate.

But I know its like crying for the moon.I enter in the ground floor and luckily I find female staff in their blacl uniform.I approach one of them.

"Umm excuse me,would you tell me where are the toilet located?"I ask a young woman who stand by a large hallaway instructing the guests who perhaps come inside to rest or use washrooms.

She glanced upon me,by her smell,I recognized that she is a wolf but by the neutral expressions on her face,I can say she doesn't want to kill me right there.

"Please come with me,"She nods her head and signal me to follow her lead,I silently pray the Goddess moon to spare my life if she is taking me somewhere out of anyone's reach to kill me.

"The toilet at ground floor are for human's use so I thought its better to take you upstairs where we rest.Its a safe place for werewolves."She says.

"But I could have used the toilet downstairs.I mean I don't intend to stay here for long."I reply.

"No Miss its not safe for you to wander around when everyone knows here who you are specially our Alpha.Our beta's mate strictly ordered us to protect you."She reveals and I feel thankful to Thea who is very thoughtful of my safety and also feel guilty of doubting her.

I must apologize to her once I get back in the party.She showed me the desserted toilets and I wasted no time in finishing my business.Though,Thea ensured mh safety,yet an angry or outraged wolf doesn't care about orders so its better if I leave as soon as possible.

I hardly took five minutes to finish my business and hurry my way back in the garden when strong scent of pine and mint tantalize my mind and Mia becomes alert.

"Our mate is here and I can also smell his arousal.Lets find him and mark him before he think of rejecting us Clarissa."Mia begin taking over my human self.Her crave for our mate is slowly unleashing and before I can register anything,she drag us to the second floor,where there are set of manu rooms,his cologne becomes more stronger means he is inside of these rooms,I quicken my pace oh its Mia not me.

At the end of the corridor,there is a large wooden door,means a special room for vip guests.His smell is coming from the same room so I,without thinking or stopping Mia,begin striding towards the room.In his arousal,a male wolf can't hold back his needs around his mate.There are high chances that he would claim me as his mate.

"We are almost near our mate."Mia howled in happiness.

Just when I was about to push the door opens,I hear a female scream.

"Oh my God!Move faster baby yes I love your beast side.Oh yes move fast."

"Fucking you is the best experience Charlotte."Trevor's heavy pants along with her moans feels like someone poured molten lava into my ears.

I keep rooted on my spot.
