Chapter 40

My night shift hasn't ended yet, but I want to return to my room to change into new clothes. I felt like the clothes on my body were disgusting because Dante had touched them.

My mood was low; my mind was confused, and every step became heavy. I felt it was tough to get to my room's front door. I was about to turn the doorknob when Dylan's voice rang out, returning me to my senses. I looked towards the end of the hallway. Arthur and Dylan stepped out of the elevator.

I am still determining where they just returned from. Their shoes were muddy, and their coats were slightly soaked in rainwater.

“How are you, Lucinda? Are you having some trouble?” Dylan panicked when he saw my face. He quickly ran to me.

Arthur was also startled, but he wasn't as hasty as Dylan. He still had a cold attitude, but his steps were faster.
