Alina’s POV

While we stood there I thought about what the introduction ceremony was going to be like. I couldn’t allow Roy’s life to be at risk at this early stage.

First I hadn’t seen the person behind his adoption and now he might just be another instrument to get to Zach’s pack.

“I just helped you save the boy,” Zach muttered. “Do you think I would want anything to happen to him?”

I didn’t say a word because I wouldn’t have known how to get my son if he wasn’t around. But at the same time, I blamed him for everything that was happening.

“Just get in the car let’s leave,” he said, gesturing towards the car.

I took a deep breath and entered into the car. Zach entered too and without hesitation, the driver turned on the ignition and drove off.

Roy was curled up between us, one hand still clinging tightly to Zach’s. He hadn’t let go since we got into the car.
