Chapter Twenty Five

I declared my agreement with Clayton broken.

I needed to get the evidence to implicate him.

He is so careful; in covering his tracks, he is sneaky. I will give him that.

He can't be too careful forever; he will slip one day, and then I will trap him.

I am not so happy that he wants his mate to come back here; since she came here, there has never been peace at all.

I wish she could stay there; I don't like that her presence upsets my mate, but since I promised to take care of my little brother and lay down my life for him when necessary, I have to do this for him.

Hours passed since my friend asked me if everything was alright.

I froze; I couldn't say anything to her.

I have to properly construct a lie so that I won't expose myself unintentionally.
