TYLA’S POV
I squinted my eyes open as a bright reflection flashed in. “She is finally awake.” A voice said. “Am I dead??” I asked as I looked around in confusion, not being able to recognize where I was. “No dear, you aren’t dead.” “Then where am I and who are you??” I asked. “You are currently at the Pack Clinic and you have been unconscious for a few days now.” “Pack Clinic??? Since when did the pack Clinic change??” I asked as I looked around in confusion. I knew our Pack Clinic so well that if I was asked to describe it from a deep slumber, I could but this one was looking completely different. “Oh dear, you aren’t in your previous pack anymore.” The lady said. “What??? How?? I don’t understand what you mean ma’am….Which pack am I in then???” “You are in the Tiger Wood blood pack.” she said. I suddenly burst into laughter as I assumed she must be trying to play pranks on me. How could I be at the pack of the one who rejected me as his mate and how could I also have gotten here. “Why are you laughing dear??? Did I say something funny?? She asked in confusion. “Yes you did ma’am…please tell me where I am so I can go back home to my pack.” I said. “I am serious dear, you really are in the Tiger wood blood pack.” “What??!!! How?? I don’t understand.” “The Alpha brought you in here unconscious and I assumed he brought you from your pack and you have been here for almost a week now.” “No…no….no…noooooo….I want to go back…I want to go back to my pack please….please just let me go back before he realizes I am awake.” “Who dear??” “Alpha Thane.” I said as tears welled up in my eyes. “I am sorry dear, but we can’t let you leave and also the Alpha has been informed of your consciousness.” “Noooo….I have to leave….I have to leave now.” I said as I started removing the syringes on my body and as I stood up from the bed, my head suddenly started spinning. “Please lay down back on the bed as you aren’t fully recovered dear….the absence of your wolf is slowing down your recovery.” “I don't care!!! I just want to leave here and don’t stop me.” I said as I held my head and staggered away. “Please come back!!! The Alpha will be mad at me!!!” she yelled but I ignored and walked away from the clinic. The pack was so big that I got confused on which direction to go and as I looked on, I saw a pathway ahead and so I continued my journey. My head spinned more and I was dehydrated and needed water but leaving the pack was more important than anything I felt or needed at that moment. “Keep going Tyla, just keep going…you can do this.” I said to myself. After walking for a while, I finally came across a wood and something inside of me told me that the woods would lead me out of the pack and so I entered. Due to how I aggressively yanked out the syringes from my hand, it kept on bleeding non stop but I wasn’t focused on that. Suddenly, I heard some rustling noises as I stood and looked around in fear. “Who is there??” I asked. Everywhere became silent again as the rustling noises stopped and so I continued walking deeper into the woods. The same rustling noise started again and it was more intense this time around. Fear gripped me as I stopped in my tracks and looked around again. In a flash second, I found myself on the ground as a strong force hit me. As soon as I regained myself, I looked on and saw a werewolf boring its eyes into mine and as I looked on properly, it didn’t look like just any werewolf. This particular one had intense yellowish piercing eyes, very sharp pointed teeth, had some scars on its body and a very strong feral odor and the only thing that could come to mind was that it was a rogue. It stalked towards me like a predator as I crawled backwards in fear while looking around to see if I could find anything to hold on to as defense. I finally found something that looked like an Iron rod and I picked it up and foolishly threw it at the rogue but it dodged it and snarled at me. Not only did I miss the opportunity of saving myself, I also made the rogue very angry and in a split second, it bit my leg making me scream in pain and agony. It retracted its teeth as it moved back and continued snarling at me. I didn’t know much about rogues but from the little I knew, I was well aware that their bites can be poisonous as it causes paralysis, fever and eventually death. “Mom, Dad, this is it…I am finally coming to join you over there with the moon goddess.” I said as I could feel one part of me getting paralyzed. In a few seconds, I laid still on the ground motionless as I couldn’t move any part of my body and the rogue found it as the perfect opportunity to complete it’s attack. Even if I wanted to call for help at that moment, it was totally impossible as I was completely paralyzed. As the rogue drew Closer to me, I closed my eyes and was ready to welcome whatever came and suddenly I heard a loud growl from behind me. Due to the fact that I couldn’t move any part of my body, it was impossible to see what was behind me. A few seconds later, a wolf larger than the rogue walked in front of me and in a second, it severed the head of the rogue and ripped it’s heart out. The whole event was so shocking and scary to me that I instantly passed out cold but before I did, I heard a voice saying I was his.THANE'S POV “Your precious mate is under my care…if you want to see her and your unborn child again, meet me at the glass hour pack before dawn tomorrow and come alone….your Father, Hyperion.”The once proud Alpha of the Pack now sat in the center of his hollowed-out soul, the weight of a kingdom's fate balanced against the heart that beat only for her as he kept on reading the note Hyperion had sent over and over again.Tyla.Gone.Taken.By the one man whose blood Thane now regretted sharing….Alpha Hyperion.Thane stood before the tall, frosted window of his chamber, his jaw clenched and his knuckles white. The echo of the message haunted him. Thane didn’t tell Rico and he didn’t tell Emmy. He didn’t tell the pack members or anyone as no one could talk him out of it. He wore silence like armor, because anything less would break him apart. He left before dawn. The path leading to the forbidden ruins was littered with shadows. Winds howled through the trees like ancient spirits
THANE'S POV I sat down in my study as the sun Shone brightly into it.I was restless and I didn't know what to do or how to calm myself. I stared at the map laid out before me..borders, routes, possible enemy territories and all of it blurred in my vision as a storm brewed in my chest. None of it mattered if the root of all this madness, Hyperion was still breathing.I suddenly mind linked Rico.“Alpha?? Is there a problem??" Rico asked.“Come to my study now." I said."I will be there right away.” He said as I ended the mind link.A few minutes later, I heard the door swing open, and Rico walked in, stiff and unreadable as usual.“You sent for me?” he asked.I nodded, motioning for him to sit, though I remained standing as my mind was too restless.“I’m thinking of going to see Hyperion,” I said plainly.Rico blinked and then he laughed. “Good one, Alpha…you almost got me.”“I’m not joking.” I said as the room fell deathly still. Rico sat up straighter, the smile vanishing from
WRITER'S POV Celeste's heart had been troubled since Bridget's visit. She couldn't understand the reason why Bridget's heart burned with so much hatred for Emmy and Tyla and especially the pack. She knew that If Bridget was ready to ask her, a new member of the pack to join her in her quest, then she must have done worse things. She hadn’t slept well in days. Too much was happening, and none of it felt safe.Celeste stood by the tall window of her chambers, watching the sky darken with gathering storm clouds. A storm was coming…in more ways than one.The door creaked open without a knock. She didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.The air shifted when he entered…Sharp…. Controlled….Cold.Aurelius, Her mate whom they haven't shared any physical or emotional contact with.“What do you want?” she asked flatly, eyes still fixed on the clouds. He didn’t answer immediately. She heard the door click shut behind him, then his footsteps moved closer. He stopped halfway across the r
TYLA'S POV The walls of the clinic room felt colder than ever. Not because the temperature dropped, but because my heart had. Everything inside me was numb, like someone had ripped out the air and replaced it with grief, confusion, and fear. I sat up slowly, hugging my knees to my chest, careful not to press too hard on my belly. Even the thought of it…a pup…made my stomach twist in a knot. Why now? Why in the middle of chaos? Why with so many enemies still out there?I buried my face into my knees and let the tears fall. I didn’t try to stop them…there was no one here to pretend for. No one to hide the truth from.“You’re being too hard on yourself,” came a soft voice in my head.I blinked in confusion. “Lyra?” I whispered. It was on rare occasions Lyra spoke to me without me speaking to her first and so I was shocked that she said something to me.“Yes, it’s me.” my wolf replied gently.“I’ve been quiet, giving you time to feel but now, I think it’s time to talk.”I wiped my
THANE'S POV The sterile scent of the pack clinic clung to my nose like smoke.I paced back and forth beside Tyla’s bed with a worried look on my face. Her face, pale against the white pillow, looked so fragile it twisted my insides.Emmy had excused himself earlier…he said he had some things to handle. I didn’t ask questions because my focus was entirely on her.My mate.My Luna.My Tyla. And now… the mother of my child.A sentence I still couldn’t wrap my head around.Pregnant.The word echoed in my head over and over. It should have made me happy, excited even but with everything going on, Hyperion breathing down our necks, Bridget scheming in the shadows, traitors hiding in plain sight, this felt more like a curse than a blessing.A soft knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts.“Come in.” I said, my voice low and tight.Rico walked in, shutting the door behind him. He looked around briefly, his gaze settling on Tyla before turning to me.“You sent for me?”I nodded, rubbi
THANE'S POV My hand connected with soft skin before I even realized what was happening. The shock of it hit me the same time Tyla’s body did, falling to the floor like a delicate leaf cut from its branch.“Tyla!” I dropped to my knees beside her, the anger draining out of me like a tide leaving the shore. Blood was trickling from a cut near her forehead as her eyes were slowly closing and the worst part was that she wasn’t moving.“Damn it!” I shouted, my voice cracking. “Why did you get in the way?!”“She tried to stop you from hitting me.” Emmy said quietly behind me.I turned on him with rage still burning behind my eyes. “Don’t touch her!” I growled when he reached forward. “This is all your fault!”Emmy’s jaw clenched, but he didn’t say anything. I scooped Tyla into my arms gently, bridal style, feeling her body limp and warm against me.“Move!” I barked at Emmy, pushing past him.The hallway blurred as I rushed her to the pack clinic. I didn’t care that people were stari
