TYLA’S POV

“I, Tyla Niver, accept your rejection.” I said.

I felt great pain as I accepted his rejection and it felt like the inside of me was about to be ripped apart.

I looked at him and could see the shocked expression on his face and that could only mean that he wasn’t expecting me to accept the rejection.

“Who do you think you are to accept my rejection???!!” he thundered in anger.

“What would you have me do then??? You just insulted and rejected me and the right thing to do is to accept your rejection.” I said softly.

“How dare y…”

“Alpha Thane!!! Alpha Crane has been looking all over for you and he needs your attention as soon as possible.” Someone said as he interrupted my mate or rather my ex mate.

From my guess, the person seemed like his aide or beta because I have never seen such a face in the park before.

“As for you, do not think in that little head of yours that I am done with you….you will regret accepting my rejection.” Alpha Thane said as he walked away with his aide.

The tears I've been holding back since the moment my mate rejected me started slipping down my face as I fell to the ground.

I was all alone and didn’t have anyone to talk to or share my pain with and due to the fact that I wasn’t a shifter, I had no wolf.

“What did I do to deserve this kind of pain moon goddess!!! Who exactly did I offend in my previous life to go through this??? Why did you bring me here only for me to go through this???!!!” I asked as I broke down in tears.

After venting out and crying to my heart’s content, I stood up and walked back to the pack.

As soon as I arrived, I was summoned to the pack house.

At first I was reluctant to go because I had no idea what Alpha Crane wanted from me and the second reason was because I didn’t want to cross paths with Alpha Thane anymore.

“Lyra, you know the consequences of disobeying the Alpha…he has sent for you twice and if he does the third time, it won’t be funny at all.” Ruthie, a fellow senior pack slave said to me.

“I really do not want to go.” I said.

“As if you have a choice…please do not get the rest of us into trouble because of your disobedience!!! If you don’t want to go, it’s fine…I will just go and inform the Alpha that you have refused to come so he won’t punish the rest of us.” she said as she was about to walk away.

“Wait!!! I will go.”

I didn’t really mention the fact that Ruthie, just like her name, was the ruthless one of all the pack slaves.

She had no regard for anyone and she could get everyone in trouble just to save herself alone.

“Good, now get going before he sends for you the third time.” she said as she walked away.

I sighed deeply as I reluctantly walked into the pack house and when I got to the living room, I met Alpha Crane, Alpha Thane, his aide and a few pack elders seated.

As I looked around, fear instantly gripped me because at that moment, it felt like I was summoned for something bad.

“I sent for you twice, where were you???” Alpha Crane asked.

“I…..I…w..wa…was….”

“Speak properly!!!!” Alpha Crane thundered.

“I…I… wasn’t available, Alpha.” I said with my head bowed.

“You weren’t available??? So I have become so small before you that you have the audacity to tell me about your unavailability after I sent for you twice???”

“Not at all Alpha…I swear by the moon goddess that I wasn’t available.”

Suddenly, Christina walked into the living room and after greeting everyone, she went to Alpha Crane and whispered something into his ears and immediately, I had a gut feeling that she was going to get me into trouble.

“Thank you, you may leave my presence.” Alpha Crane said.

Christina bowed her head, looked at me with a smirk on her face and walked away.

“Asides from your dirty act of disobedience, you have now added lying to it??” Alpha Crane asked as he glared at me.

“I don’t understand you Alpha.”

He suddenly stood up from his seat and walked closer to me and because I was extremely scared, I walked backwards slowly.

“If you move an inch backwards again, I will see to it that your head is severed and thrown into the woods.” Alpha Crane threatened as I stood still almost immediately.

While all of these were happening, my mate had a smirk on his face as he watched quietly.

“You dare open your mouth and lie to me in the presence of my visitors and my elders??” he said.

“I…I…”

Before I could even utter a word, Alpha Crane hit me so hard across my face that I fell to the ground.

I could have sworn I heard someone growl deeply but I assumed it was all in my imagination.

“Stand up!!!!” Alpha Crane yelled.

I tried standing up from the ground but I was too weak to stand due to the fact that I hadn’t eaten any proper meals for days.

Hitting me that hard only activated my symptoms and my body already started giving way.

After much struggling, I stood up but before I could regain myself, Alpha Crane hit me again across the face harder this time around as I fell to the ground the second time.

I could suddenly taste my own blood from my lips as my vision became blurry.

My mind was hazy and my body shook violently as I remained on the ground.

“Is she dead???”

“Leave her alone!!”

“Who are you to tell me what to do???”

Those were the faint noises I could hear from around me but I was too weak to figure it out and after a while, I completely welcomed darkness.

TYLA'S POVI didn't need a seer to tell me that staying at this strange pack depended solely on smartness and survival skills and I planned on staying for the time being and so I found myself at the place where I was initially assigned a duty, the kitchen.I wiped my hands on the apron and stepped back from the sink. It felt strange being back in a pack’s kitchen, surrounded by the smells of onions, herbs, and burnt toast. The laughter and clatter of pans from the other cooks filled the room, but none of it truly reached me…It was only noise, to cover the chaos in my head. The words of the seer still echoed in my mind. The bond... not broken... the full moon...and the safety of my unborn pup.I couldn’t think about it now and I couldn’t allow myself to drown in it again and so I focused on the task in front of me. I stirred the stew on the stove and glanced over my shoulder at the group of women gossiping near the pantry."...they say he hasn’t smiled since she died." one of them w

  • ALPHA THANE'S TWISTED REJECTION    CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY TWO

THANE'S POV I honestly didn't have the time to think through my decision before implementing it.I just wanted to do everything within my power to get my mate back and although I know it would be difficult because at that point, I had no idea if Tyla would want to even accept me back but it was worth trying. The next person I knew I needed to speak to was my mother.I stood outside my mother’s chamber, the heavy oak door closed between us like a barrier forged from my own guilt. It had been days since she woke from that induced sleep or should I call it coma…days since I made that decision…the one that cost me Tyla.I clenched my fists as I took a sharp deep breath. I had to face her.I knocked lightly."Enter." She said with her voice calm but stern.I stepped inside. The room still smelled like the herbs the healer used to treat her, but it was brighter now. She sat by the window, sunlight casting lines across her aging yet regal face. Her eyes lifted to meet mine."Mother." I

TYLA'S POV After leaving the prison cell, I couldn’t stop thinking about the seer’s words. His voice echoed in my mind like a haunting lullaby I couldn’t silence."Your child is not dead, Tyla…Merely asleep."How could that be? I had heard it from the healer herself. I had felt the cold void in my womb but something inside me, something small and desperate clung to the possibility that he was right and that my baby still breathed within me, waiting for something… someone.I paced back and forth in my room, trying to make sense of it all. My thoughts tangled like vines in the forest. Thane’s rejection, the pain of the loss, the fear of the unknown and now, this spark of hope from a man locked away and forgotten.A soft knock at the door interrupted the storm in my head."Tyla?" Maren’s voice came through the wooden door. "Can I come in?"I hesitated before answering. "Yes."She stepped in, her wild curls tied back today, and her green eyes soft with concern."You’ve been quiet s

BRIDGET'S POV As Emmy held my arm and pulled me out of Thane's study, I got more angry."You should have stayed out of it, Emmy!" I hissed as he continued pulling me out of Thane’s study, his grip firm but not painful. Still, it made my skin crawl."You were going to get yourself killed in there!" Emmy growled, slamming the door behind us."So what?! At least I wouldn’t be dragged around like some helpless fool! You always think you can swoop in and fix everything like some noble savior….Newsflash, Emmy, I don't need saving!"He turned to face me, eyes blazing. Emmy was beginning to piss me off and I had to do something about it."You don't need saving? Bridget, you're on the edge of a cliff and you're too damn blind to see it! Thane’s this close to snapping and you're poking him like he’s a sleeping bear…What the hell were you thinking?!""I was thinking that someone needed to remind him who he is! That this pack isn't about him and his sob stories!""You have done enough," he sa

  • ALPHA THANE'S TWISTED REJECTION    CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE

THANE'S POV Ever since my mother awoke from the antidote's effects, she hadn't spoken much to me. Her silence carried weight…a sharp, cold disapproval that pierced deeper than any words could. Every time she looked at me, I could see it in her eye disappointment, Disgust and perhaps most painful of all, heartbreak.I sat in my study, my hands clenched into fists on the table. The room was quiet except for the faint rustling of paper and the murmurs outside. The news had spread throughout the pack…They all knew. They knew I had rejected Tyla. They knew she had been pregnant. They knew she'd vanished, possibly hurt or worse.I could feel their eyes on me when I walked through the pack lands. Eyes that once looked to me with pride and loyalty now brimmed with judgment and suspicion. Whispers followed me like shadows."The Alpha rejected his pregnant mate.""Can you imagine the disgrace?""How could he do that to her?"I didn’t blame them as it was all my fault and I deserved whate

  • ALPHA THANE'S TWISTED REJECTION    CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT

TYLA'S POV "There’s something... someone... you need to see.”I tried to find out more information of who it was that wanted to see me but all I got was silence. The silence in the corridor was thick as the guard led me through dimly lit stone hallways. My fingers were numb, and though my feet moved, my thoughts remain frozen on the words the Beta had spoken: "There’s someone you need to see."The guard didn’t say a word as we walked away. I tried asking him questions again but he remained tight-lipped, only gesturing with his chin for me to follow.Eventually, we reached a thick iron door guarded by two men. One of them gave me a curious look before unlocking the door. The hinges groaned as it opened, revealing a small cell lit by a single torch mounted on the wall.Inside sat a man…old, with a scruffy gray beard and deep lines etched into his dark skin. His eyes, however, were anything but old. They sparkled like twin moons, alive and knowing. He looked up the moment I steppe
