LOGINTYLA’S POV
“I, Tyla Niver, accept your rejection.” I said. I felt great pain as I accepted his rejection and it felt like the inside of me was about to be ripped apart. I looked at him and could see the shocked expression on his face and that could only mean that he wasn’t expecting me to accept the rejection. “Who do you think you are to accept my rejection???!!” he thundered in anger. “What would you have me do then??? You just insulted and rejected me and the right thing to do is to accept your rejection.” I said softly. “How dare y…” “Alpha Thane!!! Alpha Crane has been looking all over for you and he needs your attention as soon as possible.” Someone said as he interrupted my mate or rather my ex mate. From my guess, the person seemed like his aide or beta because I have never seen such a face in the park before. “As for you, do not think in that little head of yours that I am done with you….you will regret accepting my rejection.” Alpha Thane said as he walked away with his aide. The tears I've been holding back since the moment my mate rejected me started slipping down my face as I fell to the ground. I was all alone and didn’t have anyone to talk to or share my pain with and due to the fact that I wasn’t a shifter, I had no wolf. “What did I do to deserve this kind of pain moon goddess!!! Who exactly did I offend in my previous life to go through this??? Why did you bring me here only for me to go through this???!!!” I asked as I broke down in tears. After venting out and crying to my heart’s content, I stood up and walked back to the pack. As soon as I arrived, I was summoned to the pack house. At first I was reluctant to go because I had no idea what Alpha Crane wanted from me and the second reason was because I didn’t want to cross paths with Alpha Thane anymore. “Lyra, you know the consequences of disobeying the Alpha…he has sent for you twice and if he does the third time, it won’t be funny at all.” Ruthie, a fellow senior pack slave said to me. “I really do not want to go.” I said. “As if you have a choice…please do not get the rest of us into trouble because of your disobedience!!! If you don’t want to go, it’s fine…I will just go and inform the Alpha that you have refused to come so he won’t punish the rest of us.” she said as she was about to walk away. “Wait!!! I will go.” I didn’t really mention the fact that Ruthie, just like her name, was the ruthless one of all the pack slaves. She had no regard for anyone and she could get everyone in trouble just to save herself alone. “Good, now get going before he sends for you the third time.” she said as she walked away. I sighed deeply as I reluctantly walked into the pack house and when I got to the living room, I met Alpha Crane, Alpha Thane, his aide and a few pack elders seated. As I looked around, fear instantly gripped me because at that moment, it felt like I was summoned for something bad. “I sent for you twice, where were you???” Alpha Crane asked. “I…..I…w..wa…was….” “Speak properly!!!!” Alpha Crane thundered. “I…I… wasn’t available, Alpha.” I said with my head bowed. “You weren’t available??? So I have become so small before you that you have the audacity to tell me about your unavailability after I sent for you twice???” “Not at all Alpha…I swear by the moon goddess that I wasn’t available.” Suddenly, Christina walked into the living room and after greeting everyone, she went to Alpha Crane and whispered something into his ears and immediately, I had a gut feeling that she was going to get me into trouble. “Thank you, you may leave my presence.” Alpha Crane said. Christina bowed her head, looked at me with a smirk on her face and walked away. “Asides from your dirty act of disobedience, you have now added lying to it??” Alpha Crane asked as he glared at me. “I don’t understand you Alpha.” He suddenly stood up from his seat and walked closer to me and because I was extremely scared, I walked backwards slowly. “If you move an inch backwards again, I will see to it that your head is severed and thrown into the woods.” Alpha Crane threatened as I stood still almost immediately. While all of these were happening, my mate had a smirk on his face as he watched quietly. “You dare open your mouth and lie to me in the presence of my visitors and my elders??” he said. “I…I…” Before I could even utter a word, Alpha Crane hit me so hard across my face that I fell to the ground. I could have sworn I heard someone growl deeply but I assumed it was all in my imagination. “Stand up!!!!” Alpha Crane yelled. I tried standing up from the ground but I was too weak to stand due to the fact that I hadn’t eaten any proper meals for days. Hitting me that hard only activated my symptoms and my body already started giving way. After much struggling, I stood up but before I could regain myself, Alpha Crane hit me again across the face harder this time around as I fell to the ground the second time. I could suddenly taste my own blood from my lips as my vision became blurry. My mind was hazy and my body shook violently as I remained on the ground. “Is she dead???” “Leave her alone!!” “Who are you to tell me what to do???” Those were the faint noises I could hear from around me but I was too weak to figure it out and after a while, I completely welcomed darkness.THANE'S POVI had seen wolves shift hundreds of times in my life.It was nothing new to me.As Alpha, I had watched warriors transform before battles, watched pups experience their first shifts, and even witnessed brutal shifts fueled by rage. But nothing…absolutely nothing prepared me for what I was seeing now.Tyla,my mate, the woman I once rejected just shifted. My breath caught in my throat.“Moon Goddess…” Rico whispered beside me.I was too shocked to even ask how Rico got to where I was.I couldn't speak and I couldn’t move. This shift was different.Standing before us was the largest wolf I had ever seen in my life.Silver fur shimmered under the moonlight like liquid metal. Her body was powerful, sleek, and intimidating in a way that made even seasoned warriors instinctively step back. But it was her eyes that froze the blood in my veins. They glowed like molten silver.Wild, fierce and Untamed.I stared at her in complete shock.“That… that can’t be possible,” I muttered.T
THANE'S POV I was already angry before Rico opened his mouth. But when he did, it only made it worse.“She was almost Kyron’s mate!” I roared, pacing the length of my room like a trapped animal. My hands were trembling, my wolf restless under my skin. “Do you even understand what that means, Rico? I spent years looking for her. Years! And she was about to bind herself to him?”Rico stood by the window, arms folded across his chest. He didn’t look afraid of me…he rarely did.“She didn’t bind herself to him,” he said calmly. “It was discussed…that’s different.”“Different?” I snapped. “It’s the same thing! She had no right!”Rico’s eyes hardened. “No right? Thane… you rejected her.” He said as I stopped pacing. The words hit like a slap.“I had my reasons,” I muttered.“You sent her into exile,” Rico continued, his voice firm now. “You pushed her away.”My jaw tightened.“That was..”“That was your choice,” he cut in sharply. “Not hers.”I felt my anger spike higher. “I had no
TYLA’S POVI woke up with a sharp gasp with my chest rising and falling like I had been drowning and only just found air.The room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the curtains. My head throbbed painfully, and my heart felt heavy, like something was sitting on it, crushing every breath I took. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. Then the scent hit me…Kyron.I turned my head slowly and saw him sitting beside the bed, his large frame tense, his eyes fixed on my face like he had been watching me the entire time. Relief flickered across his face the moment our eyes met.“You’re awake,” he said quietly. My throat felt dry. “How long…?” I tried to ask, but my voice came out hoarse.“Not long,” Kyron replied. “You suddenly collapsed and the healer said you’d wake soon.”I swallowed and tried to sit up, but dizziness washed over me instantly. Kyron moved fast, placing a firm hand on my shoulder to steady me.“Easy,” he said. “Don’t rush.”I closed
TYLA’S POVThe night shattered…that was the only way to describe it.And him, Thane…standing at the edge of the ceremonial grounds like a curse that had learned how to walk.“Tyla,” he called again, his voice ripping through me. “Come here.”My body suddenly reacted before my mind did as I stepped back but not towards him.The crowd murmured and confusion rippled outward, but Thane’s eyes stayed locked on me, burning with something that made my skin crawl.“I don’t know you.” I bit out.The words tasted strange on my tongue like something foreign, unreal but I forced them out anyway.“I don’t know who you are.”Silence fell so fast it felt violent.Thane blinked repeatedly as he gazed at me strangely.“What?” he asked, his voice lowering. “Tyla… what are you saying?”Kyron moved instantly, stepping in front of me with his broad back like a wall of heat and authority.“She said she doesn’t know you,” Kyron said coldly. “Now leave.”Thane’s gaze snapped to Kyron, with so much fury.“
TYLA'S POV The pack house transformed overnight.Where once the halls had felt cold and watchful, now they buzzed with forced excitement, frantic movement, and a tension so thick it pressed against my skin.Servants hurried past me with bolts of white fabric and silver-threaded cloaks. Warriors stood at attention longer than usual even though the air smelled, different burning sage, crushed moonflowers, and anxiety.Preparations for the Luna ceremony had begun. And I was at the center of it.I stood before the tall mirror in my room while two attendants hovered behind me, whispering in hushed tones as they brushed my hair. My reflection stared back at me, unfamiliar. My face looked calm, but my eyes betrayed me…they were wide, uncertain, shadowed by thoughts I couldn’t silence. Was I really doing this?Every stroke of the brush felt like another step toward something I couldn’t undo.My wolf paced restlessly inside me, claws scraping against my ribs. This feels wrong… and right… an
THANE'S POV The elders’ voices still echoed in my skull long after I left that meeting.“Choose another mate.”“You must give the pack stability.”“Tyla is gone..accept it.”Gone.The word sliced through me like a fresh wound every time.My wolf lay silent in the back of my mind broken, withdrawn, refusing to speak. He had nothing to offer…no opinion and no guidance because as far as he was concerned… our mate no longer existed. For him, for both of us, Tyla was dead or missing but at this point, dead had the upper hand. And you cannot replace the dead.Yet the pack needed a Luna and I, Alpha or not, was drowning.I found myself standing outside my mother’s door without even remembering the walk. I pushed it open gently. She was seated near the fire, spinning wool with calm, steady hands. The flames cast a soft glow on her tired face.“Mother,” I murmured. She looked up with eyes far too perceptive.“Thane.”I sat at her feet like I did when I was younger, when problems seemed eas
TYLA'S POV“Let's just leave it and head back to the pack house Tyla…it's dangerous here anyway.”Lilian said.“Lilian, are you sure you are okay???” I asked.“I am fine or I will be fine.” She said.I could see the sadness in her eyes and it was the same one I had when I was greatly disappointed by
TYLA'S POV“Lilian??” I whispered softly in shock.I had a whole lot of questions on my mind at that moment but I decided to keep mute and observe what happened next.Lilian walked over to where Thane and I stood.“Greetings Alpha.” she said as she bowed her head in courtesy.I looked at her in con
TYLA'S POVI woke up with a shock with my body aching and my mind foggy. As I shifted, I realized something was off. My clothes were gone, replaced by a thin blanket draped over me as my cheeks burned with embarrassment when the memories came flooding back. The heat, the desire and especially Than
THANE'S POV“Alpha Thane!”The sharp voice of one of the elders snapped me back to reality. I blinked repeatedly as I realized I was still standing in the pack house and was surrounded by the elders and their disapproving glares. The confession I had imagined, the one where I told them about Tyla
