Bonding…

Jared scanned the house with his eyes to see if an intruder had entered.

“Stay behind me Cordelia.” Jared said as he approached the kitchen shelf to take a knife.

“What are you going to do with that?” Cordelia asked as she held tightly unto his black Calvin Klein button up shirt.

“Just stay behind me.” Jared said is an authoritative voice.

Suddenly, one of Jared’s dogs ran into the kitchen again, colliding into another vase.

“Oh. It was the dog.” Jared stood still with a relieved look on his face.

“Who could have let Bruno out in such a hot weather?”

“Bruno! Come here.” Jared called out to his dog, pulled it by his collar and took it to the cage.

All this while, Cordelia could only stand and be thankful that those unknown men had not found their way to this place again.

“Cordelia? Hope you’re good? What’s the matter?” Jared asked, seeing that Cordelia had rested her head on the white kitchen table.

“No, it’s nothing… I’m doing okay. I was waiting for you.” Cordelia said.
