Chapter 3: Dinner

Chapter 3: Dinner

-

Just like Antonio had promised, food was on Aaliyah's desk, she smiled opening it, sighing at the sweet smell, the sound of her door opening, made her look up, it was Antonio with forks in his hands.

"Thank you but I don't need two forks and who the hell eats with forks?"

"I do and you didn't think I bought this for you only did you?" He chuckles as she nods.

"A girl can dream." She took out the box of food, giving him one taking one herself.

"So what did you think about the presentation Jessica gave?" He asked taking out the bottles of water, giving her one, before placing the bag in the bin.

"Well the plan was plain, I've seen it before." He nods agreeing as she opened her box food, she smiled as she saw what was inside the box.

"I thought the same, I'm going to give her one more day to make it better or I fire her. "

"You love firing people don't you, it's harsh." He smiles.

"Sometimes being harsh is the only way to get results."

"Now you sound like an asshole." She covered her mouth, he chuckles.

"It's ok, you're honesty is refreshing. So is this what the whole company thinks of me or just you?"

"Maybe a few of them." He gave her a look. "Ok all of them, but you can't make history by liked." She said.

"Now where did you hear that quote?" She laughs, she was surprised he was so nice, he wasn't as cold as she had thought, his personality was amazing.

His phone rang, he answered it excusing himself.

Aaliyah had eaten all her food, and read the email he had sent her by the time he came back.

"I have to go, I'll see you tonight at."

"You will."

Aaliyah went home at 6 to get ready for dinner.

As soon as she got home she saw Tia in her usual spot doing homework.

"You're back early," Tia stated.

"I have dinner with my boss, Antonio." She told Tia asked she took off her shoes.

"Dinner with the boss? Someone trying to find a sugar daddy?" Aaliyah laughed.

"No, it's a business meeting, we're meeting clients and he's married."

"That's how it starts, dinners then parties next thing you know you're at his house or his desk and so if he's married the best men are." She rolled her eyes.

"I need to get ready." Aaliyah took a shower, before doing her hair, she looked in her closet, she had pants, skirts and shirts but no dress.

"Tia! Where is my dress?!" She asked from her bedroom, Aaliyah had worn all her dresses to events and forgot to wash them because of her laziness and memory.

"Drycleaners. Look in my closet for a dress." And Aaliyah did, she found a black dress, that was knee-length, it had long sleeves, the front part showed her cleavage but not a lot.

She placed some black heels on her feet, before doing her makeup, she only used eyeliner and a red lip, she took up a black purse that had a strap, she placed her phone inside.

As she exited Tia's room she went into the kitchen.

"Business meeting my ass." Tia said as she saw the dress she chose to wear, Aaliyah rolled her eyes, "And I said you could wear my dress, not my entire closet," Tia said referring to the heels, purse and makeup she was wearing.

"Well--" Aaliyah started but her phone rang. "Hello?"

"We're not finished here," Tia told her as she walked out the door going outside in the hall.

"Are you ready?" Aaliyah immediately recognised the voice as Antonio.

"Yes, I'm leaving my apartment right now, I'm going to take a cab." She told him as she went waved at Tia, before closing her apartment door.

"You don't have to take a cab." She walked down her apartment stairs wishing she was wearing sneakers instead of heels.

"Yes I do, I don't have a car like you do, Mr Parker." She told him as she stepped outside her apartment, looking around the streets were empty, she cursed.

"You can't take a cab because I'm already here." She heard his voice both from the phone and behind her she jumped back.

"Jesus Christ! You don't just sneak up on people like that Mr Parker. You could have given me a heart attack."

"Sorry, you look--presentable." She smiled as he led her to the car.

"Is that suppose to be a compliment?" This time he smiled.

"Just trying to keep it professional, how am I doing?" He opened her car door.

"Doing good so far, thank you." She entered the car, he closes the door, going to the other side, entering the car, he signals to the drive to go and he did.

"So, how's Mrs Parker?" He chuckles.

"Wow, what a great conversation started." He said, sarcasm laced in his voice.

"I know right."

"Answering sarcasm with sarcasm? I think I you just gained a little respect from me." She laughs softly, just as her phone rang it as Tia, she immediately answered it.

"T?"

"So how's it going?" Aaliyah rolled her eyes.

"We aren't even at the restaurant yet." She whispered into her phone. "And for the last time it's not a date, it's a business meeting."

"Sure, make sure it's to bring some food back."

"Aren't you suppose to be studying?"

"So?" Aaliyah hung up, putting her phone back into her purse or rather Tia's purse.

Suddenly the car stopped, they stepped out the car, Aaliyah looked at the restaurant, it was magnificent.

"Come." They walked towards the long line, Aaliyah moved to stand in it, but, he held her waist leading her to the front desk, where a man was, he smiled as he saw Antonio.

"Mr Parker, the usual?" Antonio nods, one of the waiters led them to the table, that was out on the balcony, with four seats, they took a seat, the waiter gave them their menu's.

"I'll be back in a few minutes, to take your orders." Aaliyah opened the menu not really shocked at the prices.

"So what are you going to order?" She shrugs, looking over to Antonio.

"What are you going to order?" He shrugs, making her chuckle.

"It seems like you've been here multiple times, what do you suggest?"

"Well they have excellent steak and the white wine here is divine, but of course it's up to you." She nods.

"Then I guess I'll have that."

"You sure?"

"I'm sure." She told him just as the waiter came back with a man and woman, around 40 or 50.

"Antonio, this must be your wife, Samantha right, you look more beautiful in person dear." Mrs Green greeted.

"No this isn't Samantha, this is Aaliyah."

"We agreed that Samantha would be here, you know how we feel about marriage if we're going to give you our company we need to see if you're marriage is strong enough to keep our company going for another 100 years." Mr Green stated.

"I'm sorry, I meant my wife's name isn't Samantha it's Aaliyah." The couple smiled, Aaliyah was now confused she wasn't his wife.

"Sorry about that dear it's nice to meet you." She looked at Antonio, he gave a look that said play along, so she did with a forced smile.

"Nice to meet you both, Mrs Green where did you get your necklace it's absolutely beautiful." Mrs Green smiled.

"Well--" And the night went on.
