Chapter 4: Deal

"Again it was nice to meet you both, enjoy your night," Aaliyah said with a smile, the couple waved as they entered the car.

When they drove out of the parking lot, Aaliyah lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding.

"Good job, Ms Davis." She turned to Antonio her gaze sharp.

"Shouldn't you call me Mrs Parker?" He sighs.

"I apologise, I needed that deal, it wasn't my intention to bring you into this." She refrained from rolling her eyes, reminding herself he was still her boss.

"I'm not coming to another meeting." She told him, walking to the car.

"Remember who gives to your cheque at the end of the month." She turned back to him.

"Well, then I want a raise if I'm going to continue lying to them." He nods.

"Fine."

"I was joking."

"I'm not, I'll pay you if you pretend to be married to me for a while. We need our marriage to look more believable, we will go to parties together and other gatherings." She looked at him like he had gone mad.

"Aren't you already married to Samantha?"

"It's an open marriage." It now made sense why he told Samantha that he slept with another woman.

"Why am I not surprised?" She opened the car going inside he followed behind her.

"So do you agree?"

"I have to think about it, and how much are you going to pay me to do this?"

"20,000 a month." She wasn't shocked the man was made out of money, so she knew she could up the price.

"35."

"Ok." She smiled.

"45."

"Alright." Just as she was about to speak up he stopped her.

"Are you trying to see how far I'll go?" She nods, he laughs softly. "Fine, I'll give you 50,000 a month."

"And all I have to do is pretend to be your wife?" He nods.

"Or like nothing like her." Aaliyah chuckles, he smiled.

"Don't the paparazzi know Samantha's your wife?" He shook his head.

"We never announced our marriage it's private only a few people knew about it, we only married each other because of our parents, they wanted to join companies, she doesn't even have my last name."

"Sad."

"It's not, even though I'm married I live my life like I'm single, that's the best part of my marriage." He told her as the car came to a stop. "So what do you think about my offer?"

"'Give me a few days." He nods.

"Here's my personal number in case you have any questions." He took up a book writing it down on the blank paper before tearing out the page giving it to her.

"Goodnight Mr Parker."

"Goodnight Ms Davis." She opened the car door, stepping out before going inside her apartment.

When she entered, Tia was around the stove cooking.

"So how was your date with the boss?" Tia asked as she mixed the rice.

"Good." Tia frozen, putting the cover on the rice pot.

"Wait, you didn't correct me, spill."

"Well, he asked me to marry him."

"Damn best friend, one date and he proposed."

"It's nothing romantic, it's for business." Tia rolled her eyes.

"Explain to me how this proposal is for business." And Aaliyah did.

"50,000 dollars a month, girl give me that phone I'll call him myself, finna get this ring for you." Aaliyah shook her head.

"I don't think I should, it would be too much unnecessary drama if his wife found out."

"Didn't you hear him? It's an arranged marriage, not to mention it's an open marriage."

"You really think I should call him?" Tia nods.

"Yes and ask for a raise too." Aaliyah laughs watching her best friend walked into the kitchen to check on the food.

Aaliyah took her phone out of her purse deciding to call him.

After the first ring, he answered. "Hello?"

"Mr Parker, it's Aaliyah." Tia jumped from the kitchen to the couch, motioning for Aaliyah to put the phone on speaker and she did.

"Calling so soon."

"Yes, I have a few questions."

"Go on."

"Well, for one why didn't you just reschedule the meeting instead of lying about our relationship?"

"They're only here for a few days and Samantha has to stay abroad for a little while before she can travel back here."

"Why not video call and why would she leave if she knew the meeting was very important."

"That's confidential." The reason why Samantha left knowing they had a meeting was that she wanted to spite him because of his recklessness, but he didn't want to tell Aaliyah that.

"Ok, that's all, I wanted to know, do you have any questions for me?"

"Yes, but I'll ask them tomorrow I have somewhere to be right now, Goodnight Ms Davis."

"Goodnight." She hung up or so she believed.

"That was damn, it was like his voice was fucking me," Tia states Aaliyah laughs.

"Ms Davis?" They froze as they heard his voice, Tia quickly hung up.

"Oh my god." Aaliyah laughs, getting up.

"I'm going to take a shower, you think about what just happened."

After Aaliyah came out of the shower, she ate dinner.

"I can't believe I said that," Tia said she covered her face groaning.

"Well I have to see him tomorrow, he's going to ask questions."

"You know what, he may have liked that comment." Aaliyah laughs as Tia washed her dish, Aaliyah placed her dish in the sink, ready to go to her room.

"Ali I'm not washing this, know you have two hands." Aaliyah groans, quickly washing the plate as Tia went into her room, to take a shower.

Aaliyah went into her room, picking up her computer to finish up the paperwork from earlier.

After an hour she was finished, she sent it to Antonio's email, checking the time it was 1 am, and as if planned she yawned, turning off her laptop, laying on her bed.

Suddenly her phone buzzed, she picked it up, someone had texted her it was from an unknown number, that said.

I'm impressed.

She laughs softly knowing who it was, and what he meant by it as she remembered what he said.

"To impress me you shouldn't have to try."

She quickly responds.

I'm flattered.

She turned off her phone, going to sleep with a smile on her face.
