LOGINAria’s povAdrian drops me the following day at the back entrance of the kitchen for my duties because his house is farther down from what I usually walk. I’m too tired from yesterday’s drama to argue with him about driving me but from the stares and snickers I am getting from the other Omegas I already know I will turn him down next time.Staying with him has been good so far. I’ve got to get Isla on board, though I doubt she would agree to this with the way she is so afraid of the higher ranks and of breaking any rules………and what about me?Why am I so comfortable with breaking rules left and right? I definitely need to confirm with the Dean or someone before I get into serious trouble. Adrian might get off because of his position, but I won’t.“I won’t be coming to the cafeteria for my meals today so I will come directly to pick you after your detention.” Adrian says as he stops the car.“No need for that”, I quickly unhook my seatbelt reaching for the door handle. “I’m sure you hav
Kael’s pov“Morning, Alpha Kael. Early today?”Madam Lisa’s eyebrow arches as I walk into the library just before the sun rises. The scent of paper and candle wax fills the enormous room. The building is the biggest in the academy with walls that rises so high, lined with shelves that seem to touch the ceiling. Several floors circle the open center, their iron railings forming neat rings like a tower built for knowledge rather than comfort. The place is open 24/7 for us students to be able to meet up with our busy schedule after training. It’s usually crowded with students who are probably still asleep or resting from exhaustion before they rise to start their stressful schedule……….Lucky bastards. Sleep feels like a fantasy lately. I have not closed my eyes properly since Misha’s almost attack on Aria. I push the thought down and hand Madam Lisa a folded piece of paper. “Good morning, Madam Lisa. Do you know where I can find books on these subjects?”She takes the list without a wor
Aria’s pov“Was that Lucien?” I turn, startled, my hand almost on my dorm’s door. Adrian leans against the wall at the far end, biting into an apple. He throw it away walking forward towards me. How had I missed him? Damn my human senses. “Uhhhh, yes,” I manage. “What are you doing here?”He came into the light more and I could see his face now. His tie is loose as always, his shirt open at the collar down to the chest showing just enough skin to look sinful, His hair he normally slicks back is loose now, falling in loose waves around his handsome face and baby blue eyes. Now this is the kind of face I should be kissing not a snarling one like Kael’s.“You canceled our dinner yesterday, so I decided to take you out today. Also wanted to make sure you’re still in one piece.” His gaze drifts over me. “No bruises. Good day then.”I stare at him, trying to figure him out. Why is he always so calm and kind to me? Lucien is kind and flirts with me because it’s his nature, I have seen him
Lucien’s pov“Get her to the infirmary. Now!”Professor Mirelda’s voice slices through the confusion like broken glass. My arms tighten around Aria’s trembling body. Her head falls back, her lips pale, her eyes rolling in and out of focus. The sound that comes out of her throat is not a scream anymore, it is like a groan. The smell of burnt herbs fills the room, someone knocks over a cauldron, the purple smoke curls in the air, thick and choking. Isla’s voice breaks through the noise, shaking. “Aria, please, wake up. Come on, please.”I lift her, her body light in my arms as I ran out of the classroom pushing through the students, down the hallway towards the infirmary. Thank God the infirmary is near our potion classroom for occurrences like this. Inside the hallway my boots hit the floor hard.“Hold on, angel. Don’t you dare give up on me?” my voice almost cracked but I cover it up with a grin. “You’re too stubborn to die.”Her friend Isla runs ahead, shouting for help. I look down
Aria's pov“Do you ever feel like the world just hates us?” Isla mutters beside me as we run down the long corridor, clutching our potion textbooks to our chests.“Yes. Every single day,” I breathe out, almost tripping over my shoe. I’m so uncomfortable because my uniform is still damp from the hurried washing last night. We have been up all night arranging and cleaning the room, finding out almost all my properties and uniforms was destroyed by Misha and her clique, in fact the I have on is the one I worn yesterday which I had to wash and dry last night. To make matters worse, our door still isn’t fixed, so we couldn’t sleep, jumping at every little noise. We burst through the potion lab doors, panting…….well mostly me, Isla look normal……damn this humanity. The heavy wooden door slams behind us and rows of students turn to lookat us, their pointed hats and perfect uniforms lined like an army. Even with my current predicament I almost laugh……pointy hats? are they serious?…….thought
Aria's povI didn’t see Misha in the cafeteria the next morning after my duties. I should know because I actually went looking for her. I felt such disappointment that I start to wonder if Kael was indeed right about me. Challenging someone that can break me into two…..…I’m so the problem.I don’t care though, not today. I have been filled with so much emotions, boiling inside my head since last night that the only thing that made me feel better was looking forward to the confrontation. Beating me up in the gym was one thing, but coming to my room, beating up defenseless sweet Isla who can't even hurt a fly, and then destroying my properties was the limit. I had to prompt a cupboard right across my door to keep it shut through the night, so yeah…..I want to kill the bitch.I grab random food, piling them onto my tray as roughly as I can. I knew where the bulk of my anger was coming from though, Kael……that confusing bastard did it again. He kissed me, rummaged my body, and left me rig
