FORTY THREE

“Enzo, what are you doing here? If you haven't been picked up yet, you'd better wait inside."

Enzo turned his head back and found his teacher looking at him with a worried look. The little boy shook his head slowly and insisted on waiting for his father to come in front of the gate because he didn't want to bother his father who had to go into the school to look for him if he waited inside.

"I will wait for daddy here, soon he will come to pick me up."

"Where is your aunt who usually picks you up?" asked his teacher curiously.

Enzo then recalled his conversation with Carmen yesterday. The long-haired woman yesterday told her that for the next three days she could not accompany Enzo because she had to finish her work outside the city, so that for the time being she would continue to be picked up by her father and would stay at home with her grandmother who happened to be in town.

“Aunt Carmen is having a job out of town. Daddy will be here soon, Ms. Summer you don’t have to worry.
