Aria stood frozen, The child, Luma tilted her head, silver eyes gleaming with something far too ancient for her body “You don’t remember the whole bargain yet,” she said softly. “But I do. I was there when you whispered your price.”

Altheya entered seconds later, drawn by the surge in air pressure,She opened her mouth to speak, then stopped Because the child was levitating Just slightly, Barely an inch above the ground, But enough to prove she was no longer entirely mortal.

Aria backed away “You’re not Luma.”

The child smiled “No. But she let me in. Because you left a door open.”

Liora was summoned When she arrived, the room was ice-cold despite the burning hearth, Luma turned toward her “Hello, daughter of the fire that should’ve died.”

Sera unsheathed her dagger in an instant, But Liora raised her hand “Don’t. She’s not the enemy.”

Aria’s voice cracked “She is my consequence.”

Everyone turned to her And Aria, queen, warrior, legend, bowed her head “I made a deal,” she said. “Long ag

The stars dimmed for seven heartbeats, Just long enough for every seer in the realm to drop their bowls, weep blood… and whisper the same word: “Equinox.”Far below Nightwind, deeper than root or ruin, the Vault of the Equinox stirred, Not with thunder But with invitation.Liora stood in the Temple of Threads, her hands aglow, Altheya trembled as she read the rune-scry “It’s calling only one name,” she whispered.Liora already knew. “Mine.”Sera’s jaw clenched. “Then I go with you.”“You can’t. The Vault is balance incarnate, it only opens for those born at the axis.”That night, Liora prepared, Not with armor. But with memory, She braided a thread from Aria’s robe into her hair, Tied a crescent ring of Auren’s around her neck, And placed Sera’s blood-sigil over her heart, Then she walked into the dark Alone. The Vault of the Equinox did not sit still in time It moved But to Liora, it revealed itself as a doorway of crystal and molten gold beneath the Crescent Stones It opened without

Liora stood on the high balcony of Nightwind, the horizon bleeding red into violet, The sunrise brought no warmth Only memory, And in her bones, something stirred. Not grief, Not fear, But a truth she had never dared speak aloud.Sera stepped behind her “You’ve barely slept,” she said gently.“How could I?” Liora murmured. “I was never supposed to exist.”Sera frowned. “Don’t start that.”Liora turned to face her “I wasn’t born. I was bargained for.”Aria entered moments later, pale and quiet, Her voice shook. “The entity that answered my plea… wasn’t Null.”Sera crossed her arms. “Then what was it?”Aria’s eyes glistened. “It was the Flame That Waits. The one that burns beneath time.”Flashback – Aria’s Memory: The night of Liora’s birth, after she begged the darkness, a second voice arrived, This one warm, Soothing, Kind, It whispered: “She will be fire. But she must burn alone first.” And then, it vanished. Moments later, Liora took her first breath.Back in the present, Altheya tr

In truth, Aria hadn’t been the same since the ritual, Her memory flickered like a candle in wind. Sometimes she stared into space for hours. Other times, she whispered words in languages long dead. But worst of all? She began to dream in triplicate. That night, Aria’s dreams came with fire, She saw a stone altar. A knife. And her own hands offering something wrapped in shadows. A voice echoed: “You promised us a daughter. And we kept our end.”She woke screaming, And for the first time since her return, She didn’t know if she was truly Aria Back in Nightwind’s command chamber, Liora stared at the strange sigil again. A spiral, made of eyes.Altheya said softly, “It’s called the Crownless Mark. A myth among myths. Some say it belonged to the first-born of the Void.”Sera whispered, “But the Void had no children.”Altheya looked sick. “Then someone… lied.”At dawn, Liora stood on the walls, Below her, hundreds of warriors prepared for the eastern march. But her eyes were on the horizon.

The Null didn’t move, But the world around them shivered. And suddenly, Liora was alone. Auren was gone. The realm stretched into endless mirrors. Each one reflecting a different version of her. In one, she was Queen of Ruin. In another, still Caelen’s mate bitter, lifeless, In the darkest one, she was nothing. The Null whispered: “Choose one. And you may leave with the boy.”Liora stared at the versions. Touched each reflection. Felt their pain. Their losses. Their rage. Then she stepped away from them. “I don’t choose lies.”She lifted her hand, And shattered the mirrors. Each one screamed. The realm cracked. And at the center, Auren fell. Liora caught him mid-air. He was crying. “I couldn’t find you,” he sobbed.“I never left,” she whispered. “Not really.”The Null’s presence loomed again. “You think this is over?”Liora turned. “No. I think this is only beginning.”She raised her pendant. Let it burn. And the soul-thread she’d brought, Snapped the realm in two. Light erupted And s

But that night, in the silent heart of the Moonhall The betrayal began. Auren was gone. The guards at his chamber were found unconscious no wounds, no signs of spellwork.Only a symbol drawn on the wall in their blood: The Triangle of Null. The mark of Unmaking.Liora led the search herself. “Myra lock down the entire East Wing. Sera trace any ripples in the weave.”Altheya whispered, “The Triangle of Null isn’t just a threat. It’s a promise. Someone’s calling him back to the void.”Hours later, they found his pendant cracked, glowing faintly outside the broken crypt beneath the castle. And standing just outside it Was not Auren. But something wearing his shape. It looked up at them with glassy, silver eyes. Voice flat. Familiar. “He’s safe. But he belongs to the dark now. And the Queen must make a choice. Come alone, or he dies forgotten.” Then it vanished.Liora stared at the space where it had been. The void still echoed with its presence. Her son was being pulled back into the aby
