Aadya - The Queen Of Light
Aadya - The Queen Of Light
Author: Sia

Chapter 1.

Sun.. has always made me wonder why is it so selfless... Giving light of life to all but asking for none in return. The moon, the stars... Everything in the world is selfless... Not like me... I might be the most selfish person alive on this earth. My only weakness is the people of the kingdom.

Wondering who???

Princess Aadya... The daughter of the king and queen of the kingdom of Rajgarh, a small kingdom in India. Well now late. They died.

I have a sibling, an elder one. My brother, Aniket. He loves me true. But his love for the throne suppresses his love for me. He could kill me in an instant to get to the throne.

Result of his obsession I am right now sitting in this state. Wearing a red bridal attire, heavy jewelry, and a long veil, and my palms were decorated with Henna. It was not my wish. I wasn't even asked. Just informed.

Yes, I am getting married to this ruthless and cunning but truly, devilishly handsome Prince of Magadha, the most powerful kingdom in the country.

My brother, right away practically sold me to this prince. And he not even bothered to see who he was marrying, agreed.

I have heard a lot about him. He is known all over the place for his devilish behavior. People call him the most merciless prince. He is known for killing his enemy with zero mercy. But still, I don't know my husband's name. INTERESTING!!!

3 months ago, he attacked our kingdom,/* and my brother, he like a coward hiding in the palace. I demanded to be allowed to fight and let me protect my kingdom, but they stopped me saying "You, my dear.. are a GIRL... Stay in the palace."

I don't care what all had to say about me. Not even my mother. But my father mattered a lot to me. They didn't let me. I didn't protest anymore knowing very well all I attempt to be futile.

We lost. He killed my father and my mother died of trauma. My brother negotiated on terms that he would marry me off to the prince and in return want to be crowned the king.

The throne rightfully should have belonged to me. I was the one who fought with the prince and had him surrender. Yes, I dueled with him. After I came to know I was betrothed without my permission. I stormed off to the arena and picked up my sword.

I am known as the best swordsman, well woman actually, for nobody could defeat me. I am flexible and agile which contributed to my this achievement.

I saw the only man in the arena and fought. I defeated him, but it was a tough match. Later I came to know he was the prince I was to be married off to.

I came back from my thoughts when the priest asked the prince to fill my hairline with pious vermillion. Now I would be bound with him for 7 births. In our culture, the 7 vows, bind the couple for 7 births. And I consider it the most pious thing.

He filled my hairline and a pinch of vermillion fell on my nose. It generally meant that the bride would be dearly loved by her husband. But I of all people very well knew the truth of this world. Here, the king can marry as many times as he desires and I know he too would if he wants to.

I would be used and throw for him.

But what he is unaware of is that I am not someone who could be crushed under the feet and thrown away. I am dearly dangerous. And I can do whatever I want for my happiness.
