My daughter had been humiliated at school in every way possible. The other party was impossibly arrogant, and the one backing them up was none other than my daughter's own biological father!

After I confronted him, Derek looked flustered. Then he barked at me impatiently, "What are you talking about!"

The she-wolf seemed to understand something. Her eyes shifted, and she grabbed Derek's arm with a whimpering tone. "Derek, you're finally here."

The girl also put on a look of grievance. "Emma has been sleeping with every boy in the school! She's a complete slut who spreads her legs for anyone. I just wanted to stop her from doing such disgusting things, but she attacked me..."

Ha. Just moments ago, she had been arrogantly admitting to slandering Emma.

Emma panicked when she heard this and rushed to explain. "Dad, no! She's lying. I never—"

Derek's face turned cold. He beckoned to Emma. "Come outside. We need to talk."

I forced myself to calm down temporarily.

I watched as Derek led Emma into the hallway. He must be trying to get to the truth.

Emma's innocence was what mattered most.

As for what relationship Derek had with that she-wolf, I'd confront him about it later.

Soon, Derek returned with Emma, who kept her head down. His expression was grave.

The mother and daughter across from us both looked anxious.

I waited for Derek to clear Emma's name.

But instead, he shouted at Emma harshly, "Apologize to Vivian right now!"

Emma's face flushed red. She looked utterly wronged but refused to submit.

Then I noticed the handprint on her left cheek.

Derek had slapped our daughter.

My daughter was clearly the victim here, yet Derek didn't even try to understand the truth before taking the other side.

Furious and incredulous, I demanded, "Derek, have you lost your mind? Who exactly is your daughter?"

After being promoted to pack executive, Derek had completely transformed from a nobody into someone important.

He'd also become increasingly arrogant.

His attitude toward Emma and me had changed dramatically.

I hadn't wanted to fight at home, so I'd been putting up with him.

But today, he had gone too far.

Derek glanced at the teachers in the office. He probably felt I'd humiliated him in front of them.

His eyes flared as he snarled, "You dare say that? Emma is so shameless, bullying such a well-behaved girl like Vivian. Today I'm standing up for Vivian as her father!"

He then roughly shoved Emma. "Like mother, like daughter. No shame at such a young age. Apologize to her now!"

Emma burst into tears.

I heard Derek comforting the she-wolf, calling her Isabelle in a familiar tone.

I knew that name. Isabelle was his first love.

No wonder.

Derek didn't even try to learn the truth before backing them up.

And he insulted his own daughter like this.

He was trying to please his first love.

Did he still have feelings for her?

I was instantly enraged.

I shoved Derek aside.

"Get away from her. Stop bullying my daughter."

Emma sobbed, still murmuring "Dad" through her tears. She was clearly shocked and disappointed.

I was utterly heartbroken by Derek's behavior.

He didn't deserve to be a mate. He didn't deserve to be a father!

I pulled Emma behind me and took a deep breath.

"Derek, from this moment on, Emma and I are cutting all ties with you. We don't need you anymore."
