Accidental Alpha’s Bride
Chapter Five (A gift) Angel’s POV My eyes squinted from the sun as I let out a tired yawn followed by a stretched out arm, my eyes lazily open to reveal the magnificent room. Yesterday my brain was too busy overthinking Erica’s words that got me crying in the bathroom but Salvatore’s reassurance cleared everything. He patted me to sleep. I couldn’t believe it. His words. His care. He sounded very possessive last night to the point that if I didn’t sign those papers myself I’d think he truly meant it and would mistake his possessiveness for real marriage. Still deep in thought, I didn’t know when a maid came in. “Good morning ma’am you have to make it to breakfast, the entire family is waiting for you at the dining table.” “Sure.” My eyes roamed around the room and found an 18th century designed wooden clock hanging from the wall, another observation how long has his family kept such age long items. The house looked more of an exhibition centre that'll make one scared of touching anything, the walls, floorings, artifacts, wall frame everything in it screamed luxury and with such luxury comes the exorbitant worth of them. Pushing the thoughts to the back of my head my eyes landed back at the clock in shock. “It’s past 10:24 am and I am still in bed! How could Salvatore not wake me?” On my second day at their family house I shouldn’t be found sleeping. It's ridiculous. I pulled the covers off me and quickly went to the bathroom and found everything perfectly laid out and quickly dashed to the dinning room. On reaching the dinning area my hands swung the door open and caught the rest of the family patiently seated waiting. “I’m sorry for coming late, I overslept.” my feet hurried to a chair, panicked and embarrassment eating at my core. Salvatore noticed it, and gave me a reassuring sweet smile and quickly pulled out a chair for me while I thanked him with a smile before sitting. My eyes search for Grandpa but he isn’t here yet. “She just got here in a day and now acts like the Queen of this mansion. The little bird thinks of herself as an eagle.” Erica snorted, casting me a glare. “Of course it’s my husband’s home and whatever he has is mine as well. Are you married or in a relationship? Shouldn’t you be concerned about being autocratic in your husband's home instead of barking up the place? Saying shit isn’t healthy.” My voice boomed back at Erica who wasn't expecting my rebuttal and was pretty shaken as my words burned her like venom. My words stunned Salvatore who looked shocked. “Let’s eat…” Erica was beyond at loss for words and I was glad I put the little spoiled brat in her place and before she comes for me again she’d think properly. ****** “Hahaha…” “This is so funny…” I held hands with my Mother-In-law who is Tricia by name. She came from an affluent family from one of the richest families in England where she lived and schooled. Her and Salvatore’s father were high school sweethearts before getting married and lost him after he got assassinated by a business associate a long time ago. “Your garden is so beautiful it must take so much dedication to keep it this way.” I pointed. Tricia blushes and picks an orchid tending to it carefully with her fingers. “Yes, flowers are delicate, the essence of life and the purity of the mind. True love lies in truth and that’s the essence of these flowers they never tell a lie.” She answered delightedly, her fingers soothing the orchid like it needed a nice nap. “You speak so well I can take you for a poet.” “No my dear I speak from the heart. let’s have a seat over there, the servants have it ready.” she demonstrated towards a nice sitting area in the fantabulous garden. We sat at a little coffee table and took a sip from our cups while my eyes roamed around the lovely vicinity and the fantastic serene garden. I’d love to never wake up from this if it’s a dream. “Russell left and he gave you a gift. Have you opened it?” That reminds me of the paper I left in my purse and haven’t taken the time to check what it is. “You haven’t?” She looked dumbfounded at my reluctance. “No ma’am.” I said softly. “Don’t sound formal, you're my son’s wife and that makes you my daughter in law. You can call me mother. I’d always wanted a big family but sadly…” her voice broke down. “My loving husband was murdered on his way from the airport.” She sobbed lightly, wiping her cheek with her handkerchief. “I lack words to comfort you mother. I can’t fathom losing a husband and the father of your children whom you share so many memories with. You’re indeed a very strong woman, the pain can’t break you.” I’ve not been married for long even though it’s fake the thought of even losing Salvatore isn’t something I’d like to imagine. His care, sleeping in his arms and scaring away the nightmares is something I appreciate this little time with him. The thoughts of someone waking up side by side looking forward to each other's ambitions and dreams is a beautiful feeling. “He was the first man I’ve ever known. I miss him so much.” More tears slipped through her tear ducts and my heart burned as if she was my own mother. The pain was too much to bear. And it made me think if my parents hadn't abandoned me at the orphanage maybe I'd have understood much better the feeling of losing a family. I ran my fingers lovingly on her back to comfort her and a smile stretched out of her lips. “Thank you dear, you got a beautiful ring.” My eyes caught the sparkling ring. How much would it be worth, a couple of millions or more? “Go check up what gift grandpa got you and see me later.” She hurriedly left before my lips could come out with a perfect response but again it seemed necessary to leave as my presence might have reopened old wounds. My legs made it out of the garden to the room and got in to find Savaltore working on his computer as he cast me a jealous glare. He wore a tight fitted white T-shirt, the strong biceps in his arms, he had his hair oiled, moisturized and well groomed to the side that a few strands slipped to the side of his eyebrow making him look dangerously sexy and super handsome. Yummy. He looked out of the ordinary like some magazine superstar. He must have noticed me staring at him like a fool ready to eat him alive when his voice boomed me out of my day-dream. “Having fun without me?” He smirked. “uhm… Just ladies talk and what’s that on your face are you beginning to sound jealous?” my amour of consolation spurn forth. He shut the laptop, his gaze now mixed with anger and pent up frustration as he cast me a mischievous glance and huddled out of bed and with one long strand he covered where I stood his huge frame towering over me. “I don’t want to share you with anyone. You are Mine!” his breath fanned my face as my nostril took on his masculine scent, woody and smelled like everything a strawberry dipped in dark forest honey would. A rush ran down my lower body pooling in the targeted region of my womanly folds. Gosh just having him this close to me was wrecking my senses putting off every little restraint I've built around my heart, body and soul. This should be a use your head thing, get what you can and bounce but right now my heart is fighting with my head for equal rights and I'm losing focus. “I hear you sir, no need to start a fight.” my hands pushed back his chest creating some safe distance between us so my lungs could function properly while my hands reached onto my handbag retrieved the little paper Grandpa had given and saw a code underneath it. A trip to Greece for a Honeymoon. “That’s the paper Grandpa handed over to you right?” he asked. “Yes he…” “Mmmn..” Mom cleared her throat walking in gracefully. “Yes you’re to leave this evening for an all expense paid honeymoon trip to Greece no need packing anything as anything you want or will need is readily available over there and the code guarantees you using his gold card to get whatever you demand.” My eyes spot Salvatore looking greatly displeased and irritated with the arrangements. “Mom, I told you we are great. We need to focus on our marriage and work. I’d be teaching Angel on the family business so we can have this honey some other time.” He expressed going over to the bed opening his laptop and pinching the keys angrily. “Behave Salvatore Grandpa can’t be refused and besides why are you overthinking everything? My daughter In-law will be taught everything she wishes to know by me. The honeymoon will strengthen your relationship and what’s the big deal having an alone time with your newly wedded bride?” Tricia, which would be better to be referred to as mother, asked, getting pissed of herself by Salvatore's blatant refusal. “But Mom…” She shuts him with her finger to his lips. A light chuckle escaped my lips and to be honest it feels good to see Salvatore not in charge at times. “I’m sure you’re enjoying this.” He hissed at me rolling his eyes. “Greece sounds like fun, who wouldn’t? Mom, your son is a big fat headed stubborn man who doesn't listen to anyone.” my lips form into a cute pout while blinking my eyes at her. “It’s okay dear I’ll have him travel by all means at 6:00 on the dot the plane leaves.” She said with a tone of finality clicking her silver heels to the polished tiles and left us in the room staring at each other before we bursted into a laugh. “Hahaha…” Salvatore shut his laptop back again with a loud thud, stood up from the bed, and took long strides towards where my feet were planted with the paper in my hand. Sighting his incoming long steps aimed at me. My feet dragged backwards as he continued coming forward till my back hit a wall. Ouch! Dead End. He smelled of cedar wood and sweet peach, his arms resting on the side of my shoulders as his fingers started playing with the full length of my hair. My chest felt like it was cut in halves and his eyes were burning right into mine sending strange vibrations through my body things I’ve never felt for anyone. His lips brushed against mine teasingly and his fingers began to knead the small of my back and moved to my neck. “Are you always this much of a bully?” I summoned courage to utter trying to fight back the strange feelings trying to block my senses. I shouldn’t fall for this man. It's just two days and my heart beat has been racing recklessly, beating strangely with its own volition refusing to listen to my head. Falling in love with Salvatore will ruin the contract, our lives and destroy this family. He isn’t a man to love any woman and he stated it initially if I fall for him it’s going to be my undoing. “Bully? You haven’t seen anything yet. Dear wife, you aren’t escaping me. We have a honeymoon to go and a baby to make.” He breathed into my earlobe sending shocking waves running through my body and my womanly folds cream with desire. When I met him I knew he was trouble but never knew to what extent. Salvatore is a baggage of sexy trouble. I nodded like he hypnotized me or something and he sensing my flushed moment pecked my cheek in a feather like kiss and sauntered out of the room leaving me dazed. Goddamnit! my cheeks burned hot I touched the door his lips touched and the desire for him to do it again arose. My mind has grown dirty this past few days rolling my eyes I fell into bed thinking of him.Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Seventy-One Sheila’s POV “What?!” Tabloid fell off my hands as fear threatens to freeze my entire body. “Relax, sip some water.” “He… he…” tears gushing out of my eyes. “Don’t speak and take your time my darling.” She softly rubs my back calming my freaked out nerves, images flashes in my head at the trauma and maltreatment I suffered at Simon’s hands and the little taste of freedom which had been snatched away. “He forced me, kidnapped and hid me away. He's free.” “Who’s he?” I point to the tabloid Elle scrunches to the ground and takes a better look at the image of the villain who had sworn to make my life a living hell. “Is he your child’s father?” “Hell no!” “Come sit here while we talk.” She admonished leading me to the couch while she plopped my back with a soft pillow to balance my growing weight. The minutes that followed we stared at each other soaking up the silence my palm formed a protective shield over my bump.
Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Seventy Erica’s Bonus scene Salvatore drove off in wild fury. His anger erupted in the air so quickly goosebumps spread across my skin in mighty waves I could sense my teeth chattering in fear. The silent attitude my mother gave me, Salvatore won’t speak to me and out rightly denounced me as his only sibling. It hurts. I did what I did to protect him from a gold digger. I had no idea it would turn out this way. I shouldn’t have bothered myself getting in the mud to rid her from his life. Look at where it landed me. Peace eluded my sleep, daytime a mother who wouldn’t speak to me and a brother who openly loathed me and worse if she wasn't found Salvatore would never forgive me. I turned the door knob silently and walked into the room. “Mom.” “Get out of my room.” She yelled. “I’m sorry mummy, I'm truly remorseful.” I walked closer and when she didn’t yell further, used that as leverage and plopped on the vacant space on the
Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Sixty-Nine Salvatore’s POV “Mom,” “My Son.”Her tears spilled down her cheek landing on my shirt as we hugged for close to fifteen minutes. Her sobs broke my heart as I held onto my mother's frail body. Her body shakes frantically. A call from the housekeeper stating my mother fainted and has been placed on bed rest by the doctor. “Bring her back. I want Angel back home, she left our lives and I can’t deal with her absence. Where is she? What’s stopping you from swooping her back here? Bring my daughter in law back.” “That’s the problem, I don't know where she is. I’ve hired private investigators, had my bodyguards searching cities and rural settlements yet I can’t find her.” “That witch Nicole ruined my happiness. I won’t spare her.” I see the anger radiating through her pulse. I wrap an arm around her shoulder, “Mom relax you have to rest and to do so your mind has to be in great shape. Don’t worry about Nicole, she's never coming
Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Sixty-Eight Angel’s POV (Two weeks later)Impatience eats at me partially because I failed to get his number and second I couldn’t leave and embark on that process again. Elle was back home and there was no way I’ll leave without her knowing what’s happening. A sad part I don’t wish to disclose to her yet until this puzzle is cleared. “You’re barely eating anything at all.” “I…” the porridge dish has turned cold and congealed. “What’s on your mind? I have been noticing you tend to slip in thoughts when eating and everything in general.” She palms my shoulder. “You know you can talk to me. Is there anything bothering you?” “No it’s uhm… I’ve been a bad eater recently. I was thinking of the hormones and the recent changes in my body and lifestyle.” “True pregnancy changes the body and makes you feel strange. Sometimes you feel foreign in your body but the crazy part is after all the stress the child makes all these sacrifices
Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Sixty-Seven Angel’s POV The locker. The question burned my tongue as the day went by to demand and be answered to the unending questions but I didn’t find it in me yet to question someone whose intentions since day one were genuine. It could come off as stoking the embers of an old flame. What if the locker was given to her by her late husband and the question ended up traumatizing memories. I kept my composure as I always do hoping a better time would soon be ideal to confront the situation around the locker. Seated on the couch having a bowl of pasta I ran through the channels and settled for a Cartoon Network. With nothing left to do much of the time. I rubbed my hand around the protruding bump in Elle's opinion. It blew up so fast. She’s as excited over the baby as I am. She has banned me from interfering with the business and focusing on the baby which is what I do. Eat, sleep, exercise and mop over the tv screen. It ge
Accidental Alpha’s Bride Chapter Sixty-Six Salvatore’s POV The days became torture. The nights were a worse reminder of the nightmare my life finally descended tragically. But she needed money, clothes and housing to be able to hide perfectly. She had none of that, not the wedding ring I could guess could be sold, nothing at all. She left everything, and fled. Her letter is still on my table. I read it each night with a whiskey in hand to mourn my losses. Nothing smelled like her anymore.
