Chapter Forty-Three

Salvatore’s POV

“Honey I’m home…” A bunch of red roses, a basket filled with her favorite chocolates and a box of cinnamon flavored rolls she took interest in. Walking into her bedroom to find it empty. The fireplace was cold and out of use. The curtains closed. I dumped everything on her table and headed towards the swimming pool hoping to catch her sunbathing or relaxing but everywhere was devoid of her.

I can’t stop myself from worrying especially because she was barely recovering and if she went out one of the cars would have been in use but none were used and worse her cellphone was switched off. Something tells me she isn’t okay but I don’t know how.

The maid bows when she sights me, “Where is my wife?”

“I haven’t seen her in hours.” She replied.

“What do you mean you haven’t seen her in hours? You didn’t get her lunch?” My voice barked.
