Forty Nine

"Good afternoon, Miss," Isabella greeted a waitress who was on duty at a restaurant she just walked into.

"Good afternoon, ma'am. How may I help you?" The redhead answered. She kept walking with the tray in her hand which contained the food the customer it belonged to had requested for.

Isabella kept up with the pace of the young lady. "I wanted to ask if there is a vacancy available at the restaurant? Any sort of vacancy is fine by me." She questioned the redhead.

The redhead served her two customers first before she even bothered to look at Isabella. "Oh, you should have come in earlier. Edna just took the only available job about five minutes ago before you came in." She pointed to a young lady who was busy clearing a table.

"Oh," Isabella muttered. "Thank you." She told the redhead and made her way out of the place.

She checked the time and she sighed when she saw that it was already 11 in the morning. She would have gotten to the restaurant earlier and bagged the job instead of
