Kade made one more hard thrust deep inside the girl he had grabbed on his way home and groaned with satisfaction. She made a small noise as he rolled off of her.
After such an interesting day he needed a release and it was easy to find a willing partner. The day’s events passed through his mind and he smiled thinking about how he was going to tease Lana some more next time he saw her, which of course would piss off Caleb.
He sat up and the red head with perky tits that had sensitive pink nipples, wrapped an arm around his waist. She tried to snuggle up to him, but Kade just pulled her off him and stood, causing her to make a sound of discontend.
“Tyler will get you a car, uhm, whoever you are so get dressed and he’ll see you out,” he said coldly. She had served her purpose. It was time for her to go.
“But I gave you my virginity, I thought…”
Kade cut off her pouting, “Really? You know you all say you’re virgins but I think you don’t know what that word really means. You want me to testify your virginity?"
The girl, who had been blushing just moments before, shrank back instantly—Kade had seen right through her.
"It doesn’t matter, you came willingly and I never promised more than this. Besides, you know the rule. No one stays the night. Now get the fuck out.” He pulled out his phone, dismissing her with more than just harsh words.
His cruelty made her eyes water, but she held her tears back and kept her mouth shut as she put her clothes on. She didn’t look at him again as she followed Tyler out, who already had a car waiting for her. He was an excellent Beta to Kade and handled all his needs with care and precision.
He came back after she was gone and began stripping down the bed. “You know you could be a little nicer to at least one of these girls. Maybe think of settling down and finding a...”
Kade cut him off. “What the fuck Tyler? You have Maeve yapping in your ear or something?”
Tyler just shrugged as he stuffed the sheets into Kade’s hamper and opened his walk-in closet to get a fresh set.
“I don’t need a mate, Tyler. It’s not like I need to be any more powerful than I am now kick Caleb’s ass,” Kade said as he set his phone on the mantle of his gas fireplace and went for his liquor cabinet.
“Yeah but it’s not just about kicking Caleb’s ass. You know that, right,” Tyler said, shooting a deep blue glance at Kade.
“All it would be is a chain to hold me down,” Kade said while he poured a glass of bourbon.
“It’s not a chain, dude,” Tyler interjected pulling the fitted sheet tight.
Kade took a long pull of his drink and leaned against the mantle, looking down at the fire. “Besides, I enjoy how things are now. I have my time to do with as I wish, with whomever I wish,” Kade said and lifted his glass then took another drink.
“Sure,” Tyler retorted.
Kade sighed “Anyways, you know how I feel about the whole thing. So does my sister.” He finished his drink but mentioning Maeve again reminded him his new roommate was supposed to be there that day.
“Oh shit! I need to shower and dress, man. I gotta meet a new fucking roommate my sister is forcing upon me.”
Lana
My belongings were easy to move. One trip and I got it all. Kinda sad if you asked me. It all fit quite well in the middle of my new room, but I didn’t have the time to unpack.
All I pulled out was some fresh clothes and a towel because I knew I would need them when I got back. It was essential I finished everything that day. After the scene Olivia made I wanted to be sure I had no need to ever go back to that dorm.
It seemed necessary to scrub down my whole side. It might have been overboard, but I didn’t care. Once I was done I took pictures of everything as proof too. Just in case Olivia decided to do some fuckery and trash it all then blame it on me. After that, I headed to the student housing office.
“What do you mean you can’t process it any faster?” My frustration had been growing the longer I stood there smelling like floor cleaner.
The middle-aged woman behind the counter glared at me. “It’s an unusual request to try and move like this. What reason would a omega like you have to move?” she said.
Instead I politely said, “Do I need to provide that information to get a refund?”
She leaned back and started typing on her desk-top computer. “No, but it will take three weeks to get your refund processed. If you paid with a card, you will see the funds there automatically, otherwise you will get a letter at your new address on file informing you to come and pick it up here. Is there anything else?
“No, that’s it. Thank you,” I replied to her as nicely as I could.
She didn’t even bother to say, you’re welcome, she just screamed, “Next,” and motioned me away.
It wasn’t hard to guess why she acted the way did toward me, that was the story of my life. Feeling a hot mess and just wanting to be able to relax, I left the office, not worrying about her crap attitude, which was the least of my concerns. Hopefully Maeve would be cool waiting a little longer than I anticipated for the rent.
I'd texted Maeve earlier to let her know I'd finished moving in, but I hadn't heard back. This time, I just used the key she'd given me and let myself in.
No one seemed to be there and I let out the breath; I really didn’t want her to see me looking all sweaty and smelling like fake pine and chemicals, she might think that’s how I would end up every time I cleaned the place.
Walking past the kitchen, I remembered I was also supposed to cook and sighed to myself. It seemed my work was not done for the day. At least I had set out pajamas before I left, one less thing to do now. Stripping down, I tossed everything by the door and wrapped my towel around me.
My room was the furthest from the bathroom but closest the front of the home, which I liked.
Even though I really liked Maeve so far, given what happened with Olivia, I figured it was smarter to keep things simple between us—just roommates, nothing more. No need to get tangled up in each other’s personal lives.
Turning the bathroom door knob the door was pulled out of my hand and I let out a little yelp. Trying to compose myself I began apologizing to Maeve but as I looked up my words caught in my throat. It was not Maeve.
Just like at the hotel, Kade stood before me exiting the bathroom.
The heat rolling off him was the same. That crisp, mint-like scent was the same. So was the handsome, sharply carved face, the broad shoulders, the perfect lines of muscle.
The only difference was, this time, Kade wasn’t wearing a towel.
He was fully on display.
— Third Person POV —Kade got to class just in time and saw there was a late start student who was bound to make things more interesting. Caleb’s over make-up, too loud new girlfriend was all over him gushing about how her family’s wealth afforded her the ability to join the class.Taking his seat he noticed Lana doing a bang up job of staying focused and ignoring Olivia’s antics. He still couldn’t help making a joke, which was worth it because Lana broke concentration for just a moment.Kade could see Caleb shooting her glances any time Olivia had a break in her show. The dead stare from the teacher every now and again helped to quiet her from time to time. From what he could tell, Lana didn’t notice either Caleb’s obvious inability to get over Lana or the teacher death staring at her ex best friend.Kade only recently found out she was also Lana’s best friend. He had hoped that was due to proximity and not by choice. He also hoped that girl from the coffee shop was better fit for th
His pet name and inability to stop coming at me finally broke my resolve and I punched him in the arm. He reached out and grabbed my hand, his eyes matching his smile. “That’s assault, what should I do? I wonder?”He leaned closer, bringing my arm down to my side as he pressed against me. My pulse sped up. Even if I tried to lie to myself and say it was for Grace’s sake, or for being tired of his crap, the stirring of my wolf in me let me know it wasn’t anger I felt. Stepping back, I turned my head before he could see the influence he had on me, but before I could say anything Grace had returned.“The door was locked. Is everything okay? Looked like a pretty intense conversation for a shared class project.” Grace’s voice had an accusatory tone to it.The way she was looking at me had me feeling awful for lying to her but at that moment I just couldn’t take the fallout. One day I could tell her, just not right then. Shooting a concerned look to Kade he gave me a small wink. It didn’t l
After Olivia lost it on me in the hall and Kade stepped in there was a blurb about it in the school periodical, so I had worried eyes would be on me trying to decide if Kade and I had a connection. It seemed once everyone discovered we happened to be in the same class and partnered that day, assuming the teacher did it and not Kade himself, the incident was forgotten. To say I was happy about that would be an understatement. Between that and him messing with Caleb after my first day on the job I was sure someone would discover we had lived together, but once Kade was back to his playboy self, I was old news. The whole thing would have been perfect if I didn’t have my studies interrupted by his lifestyle choices. The days he did bring girls back I stayed far away until he let me know it was safe. That alone told me I needed my own space, or a new roommate. Kade seemed happy to provide all the food for the house since I was cooking it and that allowed me to save for a move at the end of
After the incident with Caleb and Olivia was over the rest of my shift was pretty uneventful. Running the machines, making the drinks, and preparing the food wasn’t hard at all. It felt like being at home with a fancier coffee maker and fewer choices on what food I could prepare. My shift wasn’t long but with the increase in pay and tip pooling would cover my new costs.Walking through the park between the coffee shop and the campus to catch my class for the day I found Caleb waiting for me by a large tree. “Is this going to be a habit of yours now?”Caleb kept pace with me as he spoke. “Come on Lana, don’t be like that. I was worried about you. You shouldn’t have to work in a place like that. At least at the admissions office you weren’t stuck with a bunch of Omega’s who can’t find any better.”That paused my step a moment. “Maybe I am just an Omega who can’t find any better, Caleb. You ever think of that? Can your one track mind even fathom that maybe I am right where I was always m
Kade had me so flustered had almost forgot I was starting my new job that day and ended up running late. There wasn’t time to grab something to eat, but luckily I now worked at a café and the boss was nice enough to provide a free meal during your shift. Rushing out the door to wait for my taxi that was almost there, I turned to see Kade with his infamous motorcycle out.The sight of him in full black next to the sleek black machine stopped me dead in my tracks. He turned to me with his helmet in his hand and his chocolate gaze lingered a moment. “You want a ride?” he asked. The mere suggestion left me without a word to say. No girl had ever been on the back of that bike, and though I would love to take him up on the offer I wasn’t sure I should risk anyone seeing him with an Omega on his motorcycle. As I mulled over the question, and the issues that may arise from taking his offer, he put his helmet on before speeding off.I stood there frozen, a flicker of irritation rising in my ch
— Third Person POV —Kade waited for Lana’s response as her eyes went round, but she didn’t say a word and instead shoved him away. Her face turned deep red as she told him her sex life with Caleb was none of his business before returning to her room and locking the door he had seen her be so keen on inspecting. Kade felt satisfied. Seeing Lana blush like that was so sweet.Entering the kitchen, he grabbed a banana figuring there would be no breakfast that morning and leaned against to counter to eat it. In all truth he didn’t care one bit about Lana and Caleb’s relationship; he just liked to get her riled up. There was nothing more beyond that to give a shit about, he thought as he took a bite. Caleb was some stuck up brat thinking the world owed him everything and he couldn’t even remember anything about Caleb's mate.Tossing the peel in the trash, he washed his hands then headed back to his room. Thinking on how little he actually did remember of Lana drew up an image of their firs
