Chapter 4: It's Inconvenient for Us to Live Together

In fact, Jonathan Sanders had no intention of getting too entangled with this woman. The reason he remained silent was that he didn't want to explain too much to Isabella Gomez, a stranger.

And clearly, she wasn't just joking around!

"Jonathan?" Isabella Gomez spread her hands, what kind of address was this?

"Can't you tell me your full name? What's your surname and given name? I am, after all, your savior. Even if you don't repay me, at least let me know who I saved."

Jonathan Sanders shook his head, his gaze deep and unfathomable. He slowly opened his mouth, "I have no family."

"How is that possible? You..."

"I said, I have no family!" Jonathan Sanders repeated firmly once more.

Isabella Gomez was stunned. Mrs Carter had separated from her son when he was very young. Maybe he didn't remember Mrs Carter or had a new mother later on.

Seeing how resistant he was, Isabella Gomez couldn't ask any further.

She could only give up for now, "But since you have money, why not find a bigger place to live? My place is too small, and... it's not convenient for us to live together."

As she said this, her face turned slightly red.

That morning, Lucy Murphy had seen them in disarray, and she still felt embarrassed and angry thinking about it.

"I need someone to take care of me." Jonathan Sanders flatly rejected her suggestion of finding a bigger place.

"I'm not your nanny, and I don't want to be one either," Isabella Gomez disagreed with him.

Jonathan Sanders looked at the money, "You need money, don't you?"

He had an expression that suggested if she took care of him, he would pay her with this money as her salary.

"You!" Isabella Gomez was suddenly hit by her own predicament and had nothing to say.

The reason she had been out early and returned late yesterday was because she wanted to find another part-time job.

She was a professional artist, and her next payment wasn't due until mid-next month. She had to find a way to ease the current financial strain of being unable to pay rent.

Jonathan Sanders slightly lifted the corner of his mouth, knowing she was wavering. He fixed his eyes on her, waiting for her answer.

"Alright." Isabella Gomez finally gave in to reality. Nanny or not, she couldn't bring herself to kick him out right now.

"But you must tell me where this money came from. I don't want any dirty money."

Isabella Gomez still doubted the source of the money. When she rescued Jonathan Sanders, even his clothes were torn. How could he have so much money?

"There are 300,000 dollar in total," Jonathan Sanders said, "It's my last savings, legally obtained, no doubt about it."

Last savings?

Isabella Gomez's expression froze. Did that mean Jonathan Sanders had handed over all his assets to her?

Isabella Gomez was flustered by this sudden trust.

"I need a mobile phone and a laptop. Buy them and put them in front of me before dinner," Jonathan Sanders immediately started treating her like a nanny.

Hearing his commanding tone, Isabella Gomez's flustered state vanished.

She pouted and looked at him, "Yes, Jonathan, you have money, so you can buy whatever you want. But this is your last allowance. If it's not necessary, don't waste it. What do you need a phone and a laptop for?"

300,000 dollar wasn't a huge sum for a man with a leg disability and no income. His entire future depended on this amount. Isabella Gomez felt it was necessary to remind him not to squander it.

Jonathan Sanders paused for a moment, then said, "To play games."

"?"

Isabella Gomez was particularly exasperated, "You have no ability to work, and you only have 300,000 dollar for the rest of your life. You need to make this last for decades!"

Was this man planning to spend all the money and then end up on the streets?

But she still denied Lucy Murphy's assumption, "Lucy, stop talking nonsense. He's a disabled man with an unknown identity. I won't have any relationship with him."

Hearing this, Lucy Murphy became serious. She nodded, "Isabella, it's not wrong to be cautious. I always feel like I've seen that man somewhere, but I can't remember where."

"Anyway, be careful. This kind of person with an unknown background, to be blunt, I'm afraid he might be some fraudster who has been in the news!"
