He screamed while staring right at me. And then the naked girl who was on top riding him also screamed her lungs out.
I stayed at the window, also screaming from shock, hurt and confusion.
“WHAT THE HELL, TORI!” Christopher shouted at me as he tried to yank the naked girl off him.
She had nothing to fear. Her whole body was out there in full display. She didn’t care that I had seen her and also seen Chris.
“I am coming inside!” I yelled through the other side of the window.
I tried to lunge myself using the wall, but in the process, something stabbed my leg. I looked down to find thorns, probably from the flowers, sticking out from my leg.
“I am coming inside!” I shouted again through the window, still determined to get through. “What the hell is wrong with you, Tori?” he asked as he tried to wrap the bottom half of his body with the bedsheets. “I am coming inside.” I tried to lunge myself again, but that time, the wall brushed my arm.
His little guest in the bed was just lying naked on the bed using her phone, totally not caring about a single thing.
“Let me open the door.” he sighed and walked out of the bedroom.
I stopped trying to ‘break in’ and eventually walked around the house again back to the front door. I heard him jingle keys before finally opening the door.
“ARE YOU STUPID? YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT!” he screamed at me the second he saw my face. “I knew you weren’t going to open the front door, and I had to make a plan.” I sighed “Baby, come back to bed. I want to finish.” the naked girl from his bedroom moaned.“Lana, give me a second!” he shouted a reply back.
I folded my arms as I frowned at him.
“So, that the Lana? The Lana that I should not worry about?” I asked bitterly, with my arms still folded over my chest. “I- I… can…Let…I can explain.” he stammered“So now you don’t know how to talk as well?” I continued to ask bitterly.
He kept quiet and just stared right at me. The whole time in our relationship, I was always the tougher one. I intimidated him more than he intimidated me. Everyone said that I had bigger balls than him in the relationship.
“Okay, Lana and I are just friends.” he finally sighed “Hm?”
My phone started to vibrate from the pocket of my shorts.
“You should probably answer that.” he calmly suggested "You should probably fall off a cliff!” I snapped
I took my phone out of my pocket and saw that my father was calling me. I simply declined the call and slid the phone back into my pocket.
“So, do you do this with all your friends, or are they only the ones that I asked about multiple times for you to say not to worry about?” I questioned him.
My phone vibrated again. I pulled it out of my pocket and saw it was my father calling me again. I declined the call.
“Just answer that. He probably needs something from you.” Chris said“No. I know you’re just looking for ways to get rid of me and trying to avoid my questions, but that’s not happening. You’re going to answer me,” I snapped.
Then, we heard footsteps coming from his bedroom. The naked girl from his bedroom, who is Lana, came walking out with no clothes.
“Do you not like clothes? Are you allergic to them or something!?” I snapped at her when she came out displaying her tiny nude body“HEY!” Chris snapped at me “Don’t speak to Lana like that!” “Yo dude, you have thorns in your leg.” Lana had the nerve to say to me while pointing at my leg“No one is speaking to you, honey.”
My phone vibrated again, but that time, it was Roni.
“WHAT?!” I barked at her“Where are you?”“Out. I went for a drive.” I crafted a lie“Well, you need to come back now,” she responded “Why?”“It’s Mom. Something has happened to her.” she cried on the other end of the phone and then ended the call.
I began to tear up in front of my ex-fiance and his new mistress.
“I totally understand how you feel. I was also this devastated when I walked in on my boyfriend of 5 months sleeping with not one, but two girls and then he told me not to worry.”
Lana pretended to feel my pain when in actuality, I was in pain about hearing Roni say that something had happened to my mother.“I have to go.” I sighed as I quickly walked towards the front door, “WE are not done discussing this. I will come back, and you, over there, will go put on some clothes.”I rushed out of the house and tried to speed my way back home, but I was stuck in a traffic jam. I looked ahead of the road and saw ambulances rushing towards the same direction as me. After hearing Roni say that something had just happened to my mother, I prayed that those ambulances that I was competing with on the road were not rushing to my house. But as unfortunate as I was on that day, they were rushing to my house.
I parked the car at the other end of the road and ran out. I sprinted to my house and found my father standing by the gate. Roni was seated on the pavement, bawling her eyes out. I rushed up to her.
“What’s wrong?” I asked “We don’t know. Dad said they were in the bedroom still talking, and then she had a seizure,” she replied while crying.
Could this day get any worse?
The medical team rushed my mother on a stretcher into the ambulance while my dad climbed into the back with them.
“Where is dad’s car?” Roni asked me“Down by the street. Why?”“We have to go to the hospital too, but there is not enough space in the ambulance. Let’s go,” she answered as she pulled my arm, and we rushed towards the car.

We reached the hospital, and they rushed my mother inside while we sat in the waiting room. My dad had his head in his hands as he teared up, thinking about all the possibilities, while Roni started pacing around the waiting room as she nervously bit her nails. I placed my leg on a chair to pull out the thorns that stabbed me.
“Eli…” an elderly man around my father’s age walked up to my dad and gave him a hug.
I had never seen him before, but he seemed to know my father well enough.
“Russo, thanks for coming.” My dad replied
Russo?
“I had to come the minute I heard about Mary. Where are the girls?” he asked.
My father pointed at us, and then they came walking towards us.
“Veronica…” Russo hugged Roni, but she quickly opted for a handshake. “I am going for a walk.” she sighed and walked away“Victoria…” he turned to me for a hug.
How did he know my name? Who was this Russo guy?
I knew I wanted him longer than just those 20 minutes he had planned. I needed more—more of him."20 minutes, only?" I asked, my voice betraying the shock I felt, as I fought to hold back the tear threatening to escape my eye."Yeah, I'm sorry," he replied, his tone apologetic. "My boss is back, and he's been extra strict since he returned."I clenched my fists, trying to hold back the frustration and sadness bubbling inside me. I didn’t want to seem whiny or clingy—especially not when Bash was radiating that infuriating “I don’t care” vibe. The last thing I needed was to seem overly attached, like I was desperate for his attention. He had made it clear that he had boundaries, and I didn’t want to cross them or make things awkward between us. But it was hard—hard not to feel a little disappointed that our time together was being cut short so suddenly.“So, let’s get to it before I have to go. I think 20 minutes should be good,” he said, his tone casual, almost too casual, as he walked
Irritably, I gathered my things, feeling the frustration rising in my chest. I could still hear his voice echoing in my mind, the way he casually mentioned work like it was some unexpected inconvenience. He was the one who suggested we meet up, I thought, gripping my bag tighter. It wasn’t like I had forced him into this. We had made plans—plans he had seemed excited about when we talked earlier. But now, it felt like I was the only one who cared about actually following through.By the time I reached the street,I called for a cab, almost slamming the phone down in my frustration. As the car pulled up, I climbed in without a word.I couldn't stop thinking about how ridiculous it all was. Why bother suggesting we meet up if you didn’t have the time?I headed to the shopping mall and walked into the supermarket, trying to shake off the frustration from earlier. There were a few things I needed, like perfumes and soaps—essentials, really. Since meeting Bash, I found myself wanting to u
She returned with the box and immediately noticed Russo staring at me. Her expression shifted, sharp and questioning, as if she were trying to piece something together. I couldn’t help but think she assumed I’d needed the pill because of… Alessandro Russo—a man twice my age.“Oh no, it’s not with him—” I blurted out, rushing to explain. She nodded, but I could tell my explanation hadn’t helped. She’d clearly seen and heard some of the strangest things, yet me insisting it wasn’t with Russo somehow made it worse. I wanted to melt into the countertop—or vanish among the rows of medicine boxes and containers surrounding me.“Anyway, is this the first time you’re taking this pill?” she asked.I nodded slightly, cheeks burning with embarrassment.“Okay, the instructions are in the leaflet inside the box. Make sure you read and understand them, but everything should be fine,” she said, handing me the box.She printed out the receipt, and my heart nearly stopped when I glimpsed the price.“O
I could not sit there anymore. The laughter between them, the ease, the way she kept throwing little jabs without actually saying what she meant—it was suffocating. My skin felt too tight, and my stomach twisted with something ugly. I was not angry just at her. I was angry at him. At myself. At this whole damn situation.I shot up from my seat abruptly, and I stormed off toward my bedroom. My footsteps were heavy, deliberate, but no matter how far I got, I could still hear Roni’s laughter ringing through the house. Light, carefree, like she belonged there.I clenched my fists. Why was she acting like that? So comfortable, so at ease, as if she had known them forever. Both Bash and Russo were supposed to be mine—to know, to understand, to be close to. But there she was, slipping into my world like it was effortless, stealing the attention that once belonged to me.I shut my door behind me and pressed my back against it, my heart pounding with frustration. The more I thought about it,
She wasted no time grabbing my wrist and tugging me out of the kitchen with a sense of urgency.“What’s happening?” my father asked as he saw her drag my ass to the bedroom“Nothing,” Roni answered quickly, brushing off his concern.I overheard my father sigh as he turned to Bash. “Those two… they’ve always been inseparable.”If only my father knew the real reason she was dragging me away, he’d probably take back that comment in an instant. We reached her bedroom and she closed the door tight. “It was him, wasn’t it?” she asked, in a low voice “Uhm…no.” I tried to go on with a lie. “Tori, I know when you are lying and right now, I can see that you are lying. And not only you’re lying, you are doing a terrible job at it.” she sighed I froze in my spot. I did not know how I was going to tell her. I knew she was going to be gutted. “Okay…” I sighed, ready to tell her the story but she shook her head “So, he is the guy you kissed?” she asked. Wait? Kiss?I nodded quickly. If it mea
What was he doing here? I froze in the kitchen the minute our eyes locked, my heart skipping a beat. “Bash! Hi, how are you?” my father asked, greeting him warmly as they shook hands.“Hello, Mr. Carter,” Bash replied, his smile polite but guarded. My body grew cold, as if someone had splashed ice water down my back. I stood frozen, unsure of how to react or even what to feel in that moment. “Come in, come in,” my father urged, more than happy to let Bash into the house.“Oh no, sir, I’m not here for long,” Bash quickly replied, his tone polite but somewhat hesitant.“Don’t be foolish,” my father smiled, clearly eager to have him stay a bit longer.Clearly against his will, Bash stepped into the house and made his way toward the living room, never once looking in my direction after our eyes had locked at the door. The distance between us seemed to stretch with every step he took.Flashbacks. “Can we get you anything to drink?” My dad offered “Uhm..” “Let me get you juice at leas
