"She's my fiancèe," Anthon said proudly.

Sabrina's world crumbled. Her knees suddenly lost their strength that she wobbled. “You. . .what?!”

Anthon smirked, his eyes shimmering as if he was enjoying seeing her in that state. “You’ve heard it right. Nathalia is now my fiancèe. I didn’t lie when I told you I’ll propose to the one I really love as soon as I get promoted,” he said cockily then lifted the woman’s chin, "And I did. I just proposed to her a few minutes before you came in," he stated and unabashedly pressed his lips against hers.

The scene in front of Sabrina shattered her heart. She wanted to look away but it was as if they have a magnet that her eyes couldn't stop watching them.

It was an eyesore and the longer they kissed, the more painful she felt inside her chest.

Sabrina was like a statue, standing there immobile. She didn't even blink and just took all in what she was seeing.

“Do you want to see my ring? Come here, Sis, have a look,” Nathalia extended her right hand when they finally pulled away from each other and showed off the blue diamond ring on her finger.

Seeing it stung her eyes.

Nathalia didn't just steal her boyfriend but also stole her dream engagement ring.

That blue diamond that caught her attention the first time she saw it on the jewelry store was glaring at her. The stone was not huge, but the color which was rare that made her fall for it.

“Don’t you want to see how beautiful my engagement ring is, Sab? This is your dream ring, right? You're obsessed with the color blue and I forgot to tell you that I like that color as well," Nathalia grinned triumphantly. "Why don't you come here, take a closer look and have it try? This might be your only chance to wear one..'" she chuckled.

Sabrina shook her head in utter disbelief.

Nathalia was such a liar as she knew her favorite color was pink and never blue. They used to argue when it comes to choosing a color for their outfit as the woman likes to have a matching clothes with her.

"I know you have always been wanting this one, but Anthon had been saving his salary for three years to buy this for me,” the woman chirped.

Sabrina clutched her chest.

Three years?

Her head snapped at her boyfriend as her gaze was full of questions.

However, there was no guilt in Anthon's eyes. If anything, he looked even proud of what he did as he flashed her a triumphant smile.

“Don't let her touch your ring, love. She might steal and run off with it,” Anthon commented and held Nathalia's hand protectively.

Sabrina’s heart filled with resentment. She couldn't believe such people exist.

She loved and trusted them so much but what did she get from them? Betrayal. They've taken advantage of her kindness.

Looking at them, her eyes were burning as hot tears continuously streamed down her cheeks.

Not even once she suspected that something was going on between them. All those freaking years, she was clueless that Anthon was just pretending to care for her. They made her a fool!

Kneeling down, a loud sob escaped her lips. It hurts too much.

“Now that you know the truth, you can leave my office and start packing your clothes in my apartment,” Anthon stated nonchalantly.

Sabrina’s eyes shot widely at him, "That's my apartment!" she exclaimed.

She was the one paying for it so why would she be the one leaving?!

"From now on, that's my apartment. I already talked with the landlord and she had agreed to change the name on the lease," Anthon smirked.

Contemptuously, she stood up and pointed her index finger on him. But before she could lash out, someone suddenly spoke behind her, making her jump in surprise.

“Mr Fuego, the president is asking to meet you in his office,” A stern voice of a man said. “And you, Ms Smith and Ms Bennette, your break time ended fifteen minutes ago..” Harold, the CEO’s executive assistant, stated coldly.

Anthon nodded, his eyes lit up instantly then helped Nathalia to stand up. “Okay. I'll be there right away,” he said enthusiastically.

Unable to move, Sabrina’s eyes fixated on them. The excruciating pain was unbearable as she realized he never once did that chivalry to her in their five years of being together.

Anthon gave her a pointed look as they walked past her hand-in-hand, “Leave. I don't want any trash lurking here in my office”

Sabrina's fingers curled tightly, nails digging her palms. Her tears wouldn't stop falling until they walked past her. Shutting her eyes tightly, she gritted her teeth and her chest felt heavy.

The betrayal of the two people she cherished was excruciating.

"Miss Bennette, are you okay?" Harold inquired.

Sabrina quickly wiped her tears away and forced a smile, "I'm sorry," she apologized and hastily left the office, leaving the guy without glancing at him.

She kept her head low as she walked past her table. She could feel their curious gaze at her but she paid no heed and just strode directly in the elevator.

And as soon as Sabrina entered the lift, her body slumped on the floor as her knees finally gave in.

“Miss, are you okay?” a guy who was also inside rushed towards her and supported her to stand up.

“Thanks,” Sabrina muttered almost inaudibly and immediately wiped her face without looking at him.

She was not in herself and just stood there, flabbergasted while waiting for the elevator to open.

Sabrina almost ran to the parking area as soon as she stepped out of the elevator. She drove to the nearest bar and immediately asked for the strongest drink to the bartender.

It was her first time in a bar, thus, she had no idea what to order. And it was also the first time that she will drink so she was sure that whatever the bartender gives her will definitely make her drunk immediately after two or three shots.

Sabrina immediately drank the whole glass as soon as the bartender placed it in front of her. “Please keep the drinks coming,” she said.

The bartender's eyes narrowed but still did as he was told anyway.

She lost count of how many glasses she drank when she felt her head was starting to spin. But it was not enough as she could still see the faces of her ex and his mistress in her head.

“More, please,” she muttered with a slurry voice.

“I think that’s enough..” someone suddenly said which immediately caught her attention.

"Take them to the authorities," Harold ordered in an icy voice. The security quickly dragged Anthon and Nathalia out. The two were screaming protests as they stepped out of the meeting room. "You can't do this to us! We will get back at you, Mondragon! We're not done yet!" Anthon exclaimed. Gabriel ignored them. He just stared at Harold, waiting for him to tell what was inside the folder. "This is a set up. They badly want you to take this and get your finger prints," his assistant stated before placing the open folder on the table. The creases on Gabriel's forehead deepened. His jaw clenched upon seeing a tiny sachet on top of the paper. "Give that to the authorities along with the CCTV footage. Also, investigate how they were able to get out of jail" Without wasting a second, Harold left the room to do his task leaving Gabriel with his father. "Your mother in law helped them," Hendrix muttered. Immediately, he turned to his father upon hearing it. "How?"

Gabriel's face darkened. Sharply, he stared at the two people arrogantly entering the meeting room as if they were the one who owned the company. "Mr Mondragon, glad to see you again," Nathalia smirked. "How did you get here?" he asked sternly. "We're here as investors, if you're still not aware," Anthon showed off their investor ID that was dangling on his hand. Then, he pulled out the chair across them and made his fiancee sit on it before he sat next to her. Meanwhile, Gabriel looked at his father. As far as he could remember, he said that he already took care of them that's why he didn't bother checking if they were rotting in jail. "I was about to inform you that's why I'm here," Hendrix muttered. "So, we have surprised you, didn't we?" Anthon chuckled. "Great. Then we won't waste any of your time and proceed to the main reason why we are here," he said then threw the folder on the table unceremoniously. Gabriel just stared at it and had no plan to read

"You should explain," Joseph demanded as soon as he entered his office. Gabriel lifted his head from the stash of papers on his table upon hearing it. "Explain what?" he asked. He leaned back on his swivel chair and crossed his arms while his eyes darkened as he watched his friend intently. On the other hand, Joseph was taken aback but cleared his throat and walked casually towards the couch. "Why didn't you tell me that your plan changed? i was waiting for your signal but then I will learn that you already captured my sister? Explain!" Gabriel's eyes squinted. "You didn't know?" "What?" his friend frowned. Shaking his head, he pursed his lips and stared at him for a long time before speaking again. "We didn't expect that she will show up in Sabrina's room. It was like two in the morning.." Joseph nodded. "I know. Mom showed up and frantically told us what happened. Now, she's demanding that we help Eli," he sighed. "Dad said he'll try but he couldn't promise so

"NO!!" Sarah screamed hysterically that all the servants ran to their floor. Meanwhile, Gabriel wrapped his arms around her and buried his face on the crook of her neck. "I'm sorry but I am not going to spare your mother anymore.." he mumbled. Sabrina did not say anything nor did she even move. She just staired at the doorway where her mother got dragged by the cops. 'What had just happened?' Her mind was still trying to process it. "Love?" Gabriel pulled away a little, trying to see her face. "Are you okay?" he queried. His voice was laced of concern which brought Sabrina back from her stance. She then let out a heavy breath before she slowly turned around and looked up at him. "I'm not," she answered in all honesty. There was no reason for her to lie for he could surely see through her. Meanwhile, Gabriel gently pulled her head onto his hard chest. "Don't overthink about it. I won't put the law in my hands," he said reassuringly. Sabrina pressed her lips t

Sabrina's eyes widened upon seeing the person who suddenly burst inside their room. "M-mom?" she stammered. That word felt so hard to mutter. It had been too long since the last time she said it that it sounded so strange in her ears. However, her eyebrows instantly furrowed upon realizing how she got there and why she was there. "What are you doing here?" Gabriel asked coldly, asking the question inside her head. Meanwhile, Sarah's face was all red and looked like a smoke was about to come out from her nose while giving Sabrina a furious look. Then, she pointed her index finger to her. "You!" she gritted her teeth. "How dare you kiss him!" she shouted furiously. Sabrina was stunned. Her lips parted slightly as she stared at her mother in utter disbelief. "W-what's wrong by kissing my husband?" she asked curiously. However, that made her mother look angrier. She could clearly see the smoke coming out of her nose while her whole face, neck and even arms turned co

"Your intuition is very accurate," Harold intervened. "She's already gone through a drug test and the result was positive. Our case has a high chance to win just with that but of course, Gabriel wanted her to be in prison and not in a mental institution.." "Is that possible? Her mental illness has already been medically diagnosed for years," Sabrina frowned. Gabriel grabbed her hand and gently pulled her closer before he guided her to sit on his lap. She was hesitant and seemed awkward at first but fortunately, she didn't stand up. "We just have to prove that the reason for her severe mental illness was because of drugs," he stated. "Is that for real?" Gabriel nodded, "At a very young age she was already exposed. I remember she was really a sweet girl back then that's why my Mom liked her a lot. But she drastically changed when she became a teen," he sighed. "Her mother kept that truth. She did everything to get her in the institution instead of the rehabilitation facility
