“Let’s break up,” Anthon said casually.

Sabrina’s world stopped.

Standing by the door of his new office, she stood there frozen as she stared at her boyfriend in disbelief.

She was very excited to see him that day as it was the day that they have been waiting for. His job promotion.

It took him three years to get that promotion, and it was all thanks to her efforts that he finally achieved it.

For years of sacrifices, she never asked for anything in return as she was certain that the two of them would be the end game.

“W-what did you say?” She stammered, eyes brimming with tears.

“Let’s break up, Sabrina,” Anthon repeated nonchalantly.

He was looking at her with a blank expression and his voice was too casual as though he was just talking about the weather and not breaking her heart.

Sabrina's chest thumped so hard that it hurt. Suddenly, she was reminded of his attitude from the first day they met, wherein he never spared her even just a brief glance.

With unshed tears, she shook her head profusely and forced a chuckle, “This is not the right time to joke around, babe. I know what you are planning–”

“I’m serious, Sabrina. I want to break up with you. I’ve been waiting for this day to finally say it. I’m so fed up with you,” Anthon immediately cut her off.

Those words were like a sharp knife that pierced her heart. Her jaw dropped, eyes wide as saucer as she stared at him, incredulous to hear those words came out from his mouth.

“You've been what?” the water broke and fell from her eyes. “Didn’t you promise that you’ll propose to me once you've become a manager?” her voice cracked.

The corner of Anthon's lips lifted whilst his eyes glinted menacingly, “I just said it to shut you up from mentioning marriage all the time. If only you knew how annoyed I was during those times," he shook his head as though he couldn't believe he was able to tolerate it. "I never had any plans with you. I never want to marry you in the first place. I just used you to achieve all these,” he grinned while spreading his hands and looking around his new office.

Tears quickly flow like a waterfall from Sabrina's eyes. Her visions blurred as her chest tightened. 'No,' she thought. Anthon loved her and he was just pranking her, she convinced herself.

“Your purpose is done, I don't need you anymore,” he continued.

Sabrina froze. Her body trembled upon hearing those words. "My purpose?" she mumbled in utter disbelief.

She had sacrificed her own dream to help him achieve his, and that's what she would get as a payment? She only wanted one thing and that's to marry him, which was the very reason she did all of it, but it turned out he was just using her?!

Shaking her head, she walked towards him and held his hands, “Please tell me this is just a prank, babe..” her tone begging, she almost choked up, “Are you taking me to a fancy dinner? You have a surprise for me, right?” She smiled through her tears.

Sabrina knew she looked desperate and pathetic but she didn't care. Her world revolved around her and she didn't believe Anthon could do that to her.

"You love me, right?" she queried, eyes full of hope and desperation.

However, Anthon quickly yanked her hands while throwing her a disgusted look. "I don't love you. I never did," he said harshly.

Sabrina shook her head, not believe him at all, "You're lying! We've been together for five years! You cannot stay that long with me if you don't have feelings for me!" she cried.

The corner lf Anthon's lips curved, his eyes were glinting in menace. "I just did. I just stomach being with you because I know you can help me climb up and reach my goal. And I was right.." he chuckled. His eyes were merciless as he looked straight into her eyes. "You're so naive, Sabrina. It's so easy to deceive you," he grinned slyly.

Shaking her head profusely, Sabrina was still indenial. She refused to believe him and kept convincing herself that it was just a joke. . .a prank. Although Anthon was always serious and never played a prank on her, still she was convinced that he was not serious with what he was telling her and that he cannot hurt her.

She was about to grab his hands again, when Anthon quickly stepped back. The latter then walked off towards his table and slowly turned the swivel chair around. The smile on Sabrina’s face widened, her face lit up in sudden excitement. She thought it was finally the surprise she had been waiting for. The flowers she never failed to mention to him and the engagement ring she had been dreaming of..

"I knew it! You just want to surprise--" However her words got cut off.

Her wide smile instantly disappeared from her lips while her body got frozen as soon as the swivel chair swirled around and faced her.

It was not a bouquet of flowers she was expecting, but a woman. And the ring? It was there. But what made her heart ripped into pieces? Her dream engagement ring that she told him was already on that woman's finger.

“Nathalia, what are you doing here?” she asked with quivering lips.

  • Accidentally Married To My Ex's Boss   Chapter 144: Accepted

Sabrina froze. It was not what she was expecting to hear from him. What she actually expected was he would either accept her apology or reprimand her. Lifting her gaze, she met Gabriel’s eyes. But then, her heart almost stopped from beating upon seeing his sharp gaze. “Go back to our room,” he repeated. Sabrina did not say anything and quickly turned around. Hastily, she walked out of the office without looking back. She almost ran back to the master bedroom and dove to the bed with her face first.“He’s so cold!” She groaned. Her chest was thumping so loudly. It was not the first time he was treating her coldly but for some reason, it didn’t suit her well. In fact, she was actually disappointed about it. Gabriel could have said it nicely. He could say that he was busy and ask them to talk about it some other time. She knew she had no right to her mad as she was in the wrong, but her feelings were valid. Turning around and resting her back against the mattress, Sabrina then

  • Accidentally Married To My Ex's Boss   Chapter 143: Doubt

Sabrina was being bold to say such, but she did not care at all. That woman needed to provoke so she would stop sprouting lies anymore. Certainly, she would immediately fold once she learns that Gabriel was just on the side, listening to her make up stories about him. ‘I’m just saving you, actually,’ she thought when the woman took long to respond. “I did not steal his phone,” Janette said with conviction. Shrugging her shoulders, Sabrina looked up at her husband to check his reaction. However, she was quite disappointed upon seeing this blank expression as though he was not bothered by it at all. Sabrina wanted to ask him if he was okay with it but decided against it. However, doubt filled her heart and became suspicious that he was just lying to her. Maybe Janette was telling the truth all along or maybe they were conspiring against her. Pressing her lips, she squinted her eyes at Gabriel as she suddenly demanded over the phone, “Then give him the phone”On the other line, Sab

“Hi! Is this Janette?” Sabrina inquired. Gabriel raised his eyebrows as he folded his arms across his chest, watching his wife turn on the speaker so he could hear whatever Janette would say as well. “Yes, it's me. Who's this?” the other line answered. Gabriel's jaw hardened. ‘It's really her, huh,’ he clenched his fist. That woman was indeed fvcking wicked! At this point, he was convinced that Janette will do everything to ruin his marriage with Sabrina. But good luck to her because he won't allow that. She had to ruin him first before he could touch the thing that he had worked hard for a long time. Pursing his lips, he saw Sabrina bit the bottom of her lips as though trying to suppress her laughter. “I’m Sabrina. Is this Mr Mondragon’s number right?” her eyes were glinting in amusement. There was a long pause from the other line. Gabriel thought Janette would not answer out of shame, but he was damn wrong. “Yes, it is,” the woman chortled. Sabrina's eyes lifted on him.

Gabriel's jaw clenched. “My sisters got drunk and I had to accompany one of them in the bathroom because she had to vomit last night. I didn't notice where I put down my phone but as of now, I still couldn't find it,” he elaborated. He let out an exasperated sigh. Now he was certain that his phone might be in Janette's possession. “Lost? Then how did your girlfriend call me using your phone?” Sabrina scowled. Gabriel squinted his eyes on her. “I don’t have a girlfriend,” he said coldly. However, Sabrina rolled her eyes, obviously not believing what he had just said. “She called me using your phone and said she is your girlfriend,” she probed. Gabriel stared at his wife, annoyed. Janette was certainly the one who called her and pretended to be his girlfriend. Was that her original plan? He had been observing the woman the whole time he was in the restaurant and he realized that his sisters were probably conspiring with her. There was no way they suddenly liked Janette when in

Sabrina stepped on the brake and groaned in pain. Her head spinned so fast by the impact, added to the fact that she was already tipsy. Shutting her eyes, she unfastened her seat belt but had a hard time opening the car as the incessant knocking on the window was making her head even more. “I’m okay..” she muttered while flashing a wide smile as soon as she finally opened the car door. “What’s going on here?” Gabriel asked sternly. Upon hearing her husband's voice, Sabrina fluttered her eyes open to see his face. “Are you drunk?” Gabriel's thick eyebrows knitted together. Sabrina shook her head, “No,” she chirped. She then lifted her hand and leveled her index finger and thumb, “Just drink a little,” she giggled. A loud sigh escaped Gabriel's lips before he leaned down and leveled his eyes on her. “Tell me where it hurts..” he said while cupping her face. He checked if there were any bruises on her face, neck and arms then back to her face and stared at her worriedly when she

“He’s really rude,” Anthon shook his head as they watched the car drift away. “Where's the manners? Rich people are really snobs,” he grinned. Sabrina curled her fingers. Her ears perked up but she kept her eyes and waited until Gabriel's car disappeared from her sight. ‘Rude?’ Sabrina pressed her lips tightly. Gabriel was nothing close to rude. If there was a person fit to that description it was Anthon. He was actually even worse to be honest. “Miss Bennette, are you leaving now? Do you need a ride?” Harold suddenly spoke. Sabrina almost forgot that the guy was there. She was a little shocked but didn't show it and just politely declined. “Thanks, but I have a car,” she muttered. “Are you really leaving, Sab? We haven't finished eating. Do you know how expensive the food here?” Anthon interrupted.Annoyed, Sabrina shut her eyes momentarily before turning to Anthon. She then flashed a fake smile, “Split the bill. I'll pay for my plate,” she said calmly. She could see Anthon’s
