Sienna's POV

The automatic doors slid open and the smell of antiseptic hit me instantly.

I could hear my heart pounding in my ears.

“Excuse me.” I said to the nearest nurse at the front desk. “My husband, Eric Macmillan was brought in here after a car accident.”

The nurse looked up quickly. “One moment, ma’am.”

I bounced slightly on my feet, hugging myself tightly, trying to calm my nerves.

Thirty minutes after Eric texted that he was on his way to meet me at the TV station, I got a call from t

Eric's POVThe roar of thousands of fans echoed through the massive stadium as people continued filing into their seats.I leaned back slightly in my chair and looked around. Blue and white flags waved proudly from one section while red and gold banners dominated the other.Westbridge United versus Kingsford Athletic. One of the biggest matches of the season. And somehow, I was sitting here instead of buried under reports, board meetings, and acquisition proposals. And it's all because of my wife.I glanced at Sienna beside me. She was looking around the stadium with obvious amusement, taking in the excitement of the crowd. When she noticed me staring, she smiled."What?"I shook my head."Nothing."Her eyes narrowed suspiciously."You're thinking something."I laughed."I'm always thinking something."She bumped her shoulder lightly against mine.A week ago, she surprised me with the tickets. I'd come home after a particularly exhausting day only for her to place an envelope in front

Sienna's POVTWO YEARS LATER"Ethan, sweetheart, don't put that in your mouth."My son immediately looked at me then slowly removed the toy car from his mouth.I nodded approvingly."Good choice."He grinned, the exact same grin his father has. And just like that, my heart melted for the millionth time.Ethan Donald Macmillan. The absolute love of my life. Well...one of them actually. His tiny curls were dark brown like mine but everything else about him screamed Eric Macmillan. The blue eyes, smile, stubbornness, charm, and confidence. Even his little dramatic sighs were identical to Eric's.Sometimes I genuinely felt like I gave birth to a miniature version of my husband. Not that I minded anyway, I love them both more than words could ever explain.Ethan looked up from his toys."Mama.""Yes?""Daddy football?"I smiled. The boy was obsessed, completely obsessed with football. Mostly because Eric has spent the last two years convincing him that football is the greatest invention in

Eric's POVMy wife has been in labor for eight hours and somehow, I was the one who looked like I was about to pass out. For the past eight hours, I've watched Sienna endure pain I couldn't fix and I hated it.The nurses moved around the delivery room adjusting equipment, checking monitors, and preparing for the arrival of our baby. The room smelled faintly of antiseptic and fresh linen. The rhythmic beeping of monitors filled the space while rain tapped softly against the hospital windows.I looked at the digital clock on the wall that showed 9:45 pm. I sat beside Sienna's bed, holding her hand while she was crushing mine with a strong grip. Her entire body became tense and a sharp gasp rushed out of her mouth."Oh God," she whimpered. It was another contraction.I immediately leaned forward. "I'm here," I said softly. She gave me a pointed look."I know you're here."I blinked, confused. Then she pointed at me."You did this to me."The nurse beside us laughed and I tried not to."I

Sienna's POV TWO WEEKS LATER"Jessica Maya Jones."The name echoed through the auditorium, followed by a burst of applause. My heart swelled instantly with pride."There she is!" Mom exclaimed beside me, already halfway to standing from her seat.I laughed softly as Jessica confidently walked across the stage in her graduation gown, her dark brown curls bouncing with every step. She looked so proud of herself, which was completely expected. If there's one thing Jessica excelled at, it's making sure everyone knew when she had accomplished something. The hall erupted into louder cheers when she accepted her diploma. I was certain half of them came from us, especially Mom.I glanced sideways and saw tears gathering in her eyes. For a moment, my chest tightened. Dad should have been here too. He should have been sitting beside her, shouting embarrassingly loud while Jessica rolled her eyes and pretended not to know him.His absence still hurts, even months later. Some losses really learn

Eric's POVI sat still as Julian continued talking.“When I joined Macmillan Holdings six years ago, and later became Head of Strategic Expansion in Emerging Market,” he continued.“I thought maybe people would finally see me differently for the first time in my life,” he added and leaned forward slightly.“I worked for months on an expansion strategy into Southeast Asia.”His voice sharpened slightly.“I barely slept. I researched everything, built projections, carried out risk assessments, and growth structures.”There was small pride in the way he spoke about this.“But when I presented it to the executive board…”His expression darkened again.“They rejected it.”I remember that meeting clearly now that he mentioned it.The board had considered his proposal too aggressive and risky.Julian laughed bitterly.“And then,” he said slowly, “you spoke.”My brows furrowed in confusion.Julian’s gaze was piercing now as he looked directly into my eyes.“You looked me dead in the eye and

Eric's POV FIVE MONTHS LATERThe judge’s final sentence had echoed through every major news outlet in the country. The law finally caught up with Julian and he was sentenced to life imprisonment for assault, financial crimes, gang-related crimes, conspiracy to commit murder, and murder.Hearing the charges listed aloud still felt unreal because despite everything he did, he's still family. His associates were all identified and punished accordingly too. But Derrick Brown—the inmate who murdered Jason in prison—received a lesser sentence after claiming he acted out of fear because Julian threatened to harm his family if he refused to obey. He was sentenced for manslaughter. What disturbed me more was the fact that Julian could orchestrate murder so casually and that people feared him enough to obey.I saw the relief in Sienna’s eyes when news headlines carried details of his sentencing. There was no more fear that Julian would somehow escape the consequences of all his actions.Even M

Sienna's POV “A transplant?” I repeated with raised brows.“Yes,” Dr. Hayes said gently. “His heart is no longer capable of sustaining long-term function. Eric's POV “What?” I asked gently, moving towards her. “When? What happened?”“I…I don’t know.” Her voice cracked. “Jessica just texted me. She and my Mom called me several times too.”Her breathing quickened, she was panicking.I placed both hands on her shoulders immediately. “Hey,” I said softl
