Chapter 2

Author: Super Piggy
Harvey Green immediately pulled out a stun baton and slammed it against me. Collapsing onto the floor, I let out an agonized howl.

"You beast! Nat has been nothing but good to you!" Harvey hollered. "It's time someone taught you what real pain feels like. A guy like you who sexually assaulted so many women doesn't deserve to be with Nat!"

I snorted and said nothing. I wasn't going to admit to something I'd never done. I clenched my phone tightly, my sweat dripping onto the floor. Gritting my teeth, I raised my head and looked at them.

Forcing down all of my indignation at the injustice, I took a deep breath and climbed back onto my feet.

I turned to Natalie and asked, "Have you forgotten that I didn't even leave the house last night?"

Fortunately, I kept my wits about me this time. In my previous life, I'd been so caught up in the case that I forgot to give my alibi.

Natalie frowned a little. Disbelief flashed across her eyes. Before she said anything, I continued, "It was our wedding anniversary yesterday. You didn't come home at all last night, did you? If you don't believe me, we can check the security footage!"

However, my words were swiftly met with Natalie's palm crashing against my face. It was such a painful blow that my face went numb.

Her words rang sharply in my ears.

"You weren't home at all, Cameron! You were caught on the security cameras at the hotel yesterday. I waited for you at home, but you never came back!"

My eyes widened in shock. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I clearly remembered staying in the house the entire evening. After getting home from work, I didn't set foot outside again. I'd placed a cake on the living room table and waited for Natalie to come home. It was already midnight when I ended up falling asleep, and I woke up to the news the next morning.

Marching straight to the computer, I checked the security footage—only to see that there was no sign of me anywhere.

I frowned deeply, and my mouth fell open in disbelief.

Harvey grabbed my shoulder from behind and squeezed painfully, bringing his head near mine.

I could hear the taunting provocation in his voice. "Didn't you say you were home, Cameron? Why isn't there a single trace of you in the footage, huh? Meanwhile, check out this footage."

He shoved his phone in my face, showing me a video with a timestamp that indicated it'd been recorded yesterday. Once he tapped the play button, the footage showed me walking into the hotel sometime in the afternoon.

I knew for a fact that I'd been waiting at home for Natalie. Why was I not in any of the footage taken of our house?

My brows furrowed even more.

Natalie's sobs rang out behind me. I turned around just in time to see her taking off her wedding ring and hurling it at my face. It left a gash on my cheek.

"Cameron Stuart!" she shouted through her tears. "How could you do this to me! I could've forgiven you if you'd only cheated on me with one woman, but why did you force every woman in Fenborough to get into bed with you? You're a monster. I want a divorce!"

She sounded adamant.

However, as I recalled everything she'd done in my previous life, I snorted.

I opened one of the drawers nearby and pulled out a divorce agreement. Throwing it down onto the table, I said with an icy sneer, "Sure. Let's get a divorce."

Natalie's eyes stilled. Her brows creased, and she eyed me for a moment before scoffing coldly.

"So you've already been planning for a divorce this whole time. That's why you put on this show for me, didn't you? Fine! Since you're the one who betrayed me first, don't blame me for not going easy on you either!"

Harvey lowered his head and gave a small nod. After finally realizing the whole truth, Natalie began to pound Harvey's chest with her fists, screaming, "You lunatic! Why did you trick me! We wouldn't be getting a divorce if it hadn't been for you! It's all your fault!"She continued to shriek at him like a madwoman until he finally lost all patience and shouted back at her, "You know nothing! Do you really think you'd be happy spending the rest of your life with him? I did it for you!"That made me chuckle. To think he was actually claiming that he did it for her sake. How hilarious! He really was a lunatic.Natalie continued pounding him. "Why did you lie to me? I trusted you so much!"Meanwhile, after hearing the truth, the victims also lunged at Harvey. I turned away, listening as Harvey's anguished screams rang out from behind. He suffered the same fate I did in my previous life. They broke his legs, and blood poured down his head.Perhaps he did end up repenting for what h

After some time, a few police officers finally arrived, and they brought Harvey with them.Once Natalie saw the handcuffs on his wrists, her eyes immediately turned red. She dashed forward in a frenzy and pulled him into a tight hug."Are you okay? Does it hurt? Did they do anything to you?"Harvey shook his head. His expression was evasive. However, when he looked at me, I saw a flash of hatred in his eyes.I knew he resented me because I was the one who exposed him.I walked up to him and patted his shoulder. "Even now, are you still refusing to tell the truth?"Harvey remained silent and simply continued to scowl at me. However, Natalie shielded him protectively, growling, "You're the one who should go to prison!"I couldn't be bothered to explain anything myself. I simply gestured toward the police, signaling for them to reveal the truth. One officer stepped forward and informed Natalie, "Cameron Stuart is not the culprit behind the serial rape case. The culprit is Harvey G

Harvey visibly panicked. He instinctively let go of me before smiling weakly at the police."What are you talking about? How could it be me? The DNA test results clearly prove that Cameron committed those sexual assaults. Why are you suddenly suspecting me of the crimes? He must be fooling you!"The officers stepped forward again and firmly grabbed Harvey's wrists, with the lead officer saying firmly, "We've already conducted a full investigation. You are definitely implicated in this matter. Kindly come with us. Mr. Stuart has already been proven innocent."The police had only taken a step out of the house with Harvey when Natalie rushed over to them. Her eyes were red."Officers, did you make a mistake? How could it possibly be Harvey? All the evidence clearly points to Cameron. He's the criminal!"That made me laugh. Even now, she still thought I was the guilty one. Did she have so much faith in Harvey? My heart twisted painfully, but I didn't let it show, forcing myself to st

I walked right up to Natalie and stared her down. Before I said anything, she questioned in shock, "Why aren't you in police custody, Cameron? Aren't they sending you to prison? Why have you been released? You must've bribed them, didn't you? You deserve to die for hurting all those women!"In just one week, she had become a completely different person. It wasn't long ago when she said she was going to wait for me. Yet here she was, getting married to another man.I pointed at the renovated house and smirked. "You've really given me quite a surprise, Natalie. So this is your idea of love?"Natalie's eyes flickered evasively, but at the very next moment, Harvey emerged from behind her. He wrapped his arm around her waist affectionately, and she didn't resist at all."Who do you think you are, Cameron? You two have filed for divorce anyway. Nat is my woman now. Scum like you should rot in prison."You wanted to know when we first got together, right? Fine, I'll tell you. I'm Nat's s

In the interrogation room, I met the police officers' gazes head-on. They all shook their heads in exasperation at me."All the evidence points to you, Mr. Stuart. Why are you still refusing to tell us your motive? Must all the victims come in to identify you before you admit it to what you've done?"I remained silent. One of the officers lost his patience and slammed his hand on the table before jabbing a finger at me, roaring, "Many of the women almost died, and some succeeded in taking their own lives! Don't you feel even just one ounce of guilt for what you've done?"As long as you sign the confession admitting to your crimes, this matter can be resolved. I don't want to see this happening in Fenborough ever again!"I looked up at him, but still, I said nothing. Seemingly even more frustrated now, he threw his notebook onto the floor.Hearing the crash, I turned my head away. I was waiting for the right moment. After a four-hour impasse, Natalie came to see me in the afterno

Harvey was captured in the footage walking around the apartment complex. The last footage of him showed him walking out of the front gates. He had to have a hand in why I wasn't caught on camera coming back to the apartment. There was definitely something wrong with this footage. Before I could say another word, Harvey clenched his fist and charged at me, punching me in the face. His furious voice rang out. "Do you need to get your eyes checked, Cameron? You're the one in the security footage!"I frowned hard and turned back toward the monitor. It'd clearly been Harvey's face that showed up just moments ago. Why was it mine now?I looked at the police in confusion and pointed frantically at the screen. "Didn't you see it just now? It was Harvey's face a second ago! Why has it turned into mine now? There's definitely something wrong with this footage!"The officers snorted before huffing in exasperation. They were even eyeing me with anger now."Can you stop wasting our time, Mr.
