(Leigh’s POV)
As if it was a big deal, I smiled and said proudly, “You must have missed it when he corrected you, Wendell. I go by Mrs. Kayleigh David Hearst now.”
“So, Mrs. Hearst, can you start the cake tasting now because I really want to go home now,” Alex kissed me on the cheeks and placed his hands on my shoulders, pushing me gently to the other table.
“Boss,” George called, causing us to turn to her. “Does that mean I’ll go shopping for-”
Alex groaned. “Yeah, I remember.” He shakes his head. “I won’t miss the joy of shopping with my wife, George. Go home and enjoy with your friends.”
“Thanks, Boss! You’re the best. Bye, Kayleigh!” she waved at Wendell before going to the staff, taking the paper bags of cupcakes.
