Jovie’s POV
I was shocked when we entered the dining room to see the whole gang there. Dallas, Scotty, and Dewey.
“Jo!” They chorused.
I was buried in a hug from the three boys. I laughed happily. I really had missed them.
“Alright enough!” I laughed.
I surveyed the three guys in front of me. They hadn’t changed one bit.
Dallas had a goofy grin on his tan face. The freckles decorated across his nose were more prominent than ever. His dark blue eyes were crinkled in joy and happiness. He was always such a positive force.
Scotty flipped his long brown hair out of his face. His snake bite piercings gleamed in the light as he grinned. His large brown eyes looked me up and down, taking me in. It was like he forgot what I looked like and now he needed a full on reminder.
Dewey was the tallest of the boys. Standing at six five he seemed like an intimidating dude, but he was a
Reno's POV “Fuck!” Jovie screamed as Tommy fell to the floor. “Oh fuck, fuck, fuck! Reno I fucking shot him!” “Um...he-he shot you first baby.” “Like a week and a half ago, I don’t think this counts as self defense!” “We gotta get out of here. People probably heard the shot, come on!” I pulled her arm. “Do I take the gun?” Jovie cried. “Definitely!” “Wait!” She said. “What baby?” I asked. “The donuts.” Right, of course. I quickly picked up the box and we hauled ass out of that alley. We hopped into Xavier’s car and I drove off quickly. “Holy fuck. I shot someone!” Jovie laughed. “I actually shot someone! I know I should feel bad, but I feel like kind of a badass!” “You were a badass.” I glanced at her. “Did you see yourself back there? Holding the gun and giving that ultimatum. That was so fucking hot, babe.” “Yeah? I
Jovie’s POV “So...Jo. When we meet this guy about the diamond, I need an appearance from Olive Atkins.” Xavier informed me. “Wait who?” Reno asked. “Olive Atkins is my alias. She’s done a lot of bad shit.” I stated. “Well do I need an alias too?” “Um, actually, Reno. My man.” Xavier winced. “It’s gonna have to just be me and Jovie for this. Can’t have too many people there, it might scare my guy off. Dallas said he’s real suspicious.” Reno frowned. “Oh,” “That’s okay, right baby?” I asked. “Um, sure, of course. Getting it sold is all that really matters to me anyways.” “Okay. You can stay with Hobbs. You guys haven’t had alone time in ages.” Reno couldn’t help but smile. “You’re right about that.” “I’ll come back and we’ll have the money and then we can go to Greece and fuck on the beach.” I smiled. Hobbs cleared his throat. “Yeah, you’ll get over it.” “Sounds perf
Reno’s POV “You scheming motherfucker!” I exclaimed. “This was your plan all along! This is why you agreed to help sell the diamond. So that you could get rid of me and try to get her back.” “Look, man, that was not my initial thought.” Xavier put his hands up. “It’s just being around her again made all the memories come back. I miss her and what we had isn’t done.” “Yes, it is! It’s been years. She’s in love with me now.” “And where has that gotten her? Beaten up by the rich prick! Shot! Chased across the country!” “And where did your love get her? Getting involved with armed robbery? You know, you’re the reason she even got back with Jasper to begin with? She had to go back to him because you fucked everything up here and she had to go back to that house where her parents didn’t care about her and allowed her to be hurt! At least I’m trying to get her away from that!” “By putting her in more danger?” Xavier asked. “Has her life been
Jovie’s POV“Reno?” I called, running into the bathroom. He wasn’t there.Oh no, he left. He went to a casino! He’s losing all the money we just got. He was going to be dead because there would be no more money to pay Vigo with. He was going to be killed! I was actually going to lose him!I’d have to go back to New York. Or maybe I could go stay with Mom while being depressed for the rest of my natural born life because the one man I loved even more than myself was gone. My world would be crushed. I’d have nothing to live for. My one true love would be gone.I would never get married or have kids or grow old with someone I loved. My life was over.“Jovie?” I turned and saw Reno standing there.“Reno!” I ran over and jumped on him.He lost his balance and luckily fell on the bed with me on top of him. “Hey, babe. What’s wrong?”I kissed him
Reno’s POVI groaned.“Yeah. I was gonna go out and get a ring later today before the deal and then after everything was done I was gonna ask y-”I was shocked when Jovie ran over to me and kissed me. “Yes! Yes, a million times yes!”“Well look at that,” I smiled. “You got proposed to and you didn’t faint!”“I don’t know, I still might,” She giggled.I gently touched her head. “I’m sorry baby. You know I would never want to hurt you.”“It’s okay. I know. Just no more violence, please Reno. I’m yours, you don&rsq
Jovie’s POVMy head felt foggy and disoriented. My vision blurred as I opened my eyes and tried to focus. I was in a dimly lit room, on a mattress. I tried to get up, but found out that I was handcuffed to bar on the wall. I tugged at it, but nothing happened.“Hello?” I called out. “Reno! Reno, help me!”The door opened and in walked Tommy. He looked positively thrilled to see me.“The great Jovie Wimberley seems afraid,”“You think I’m great?” I whispered.“Is anything serious for you?” Tommy asked.
“Jovie!” Jasper ran over to me. “Baby, I’ve been worried sick about you!”“How did you find me?” I whispered.“Your parents told me you were kidnapped. I-I came as soon as I could. I had to save you!” He hugged me tightly. “Did they hurt you?”“No. I’m okay, I just…I feel disgusting. I wanna go home.” Tears filled my eyes.Strangely enough, at that moment I wasn’t scared of Jasper. He was being so gentle with me and he had come to rescue me.“The jet is waiting for us, I’ll take you home.”“Jovie?!” I looked up and saw Hobbs.
Wedding planning is kind of fun! I can’t believe the last time I was engaged I was uninterested in all of this. There’s so much to do! Catering, place settings, decorations, venues, it was all so much! And to pull it all together in a month? Absolute madness. It was the perfect distraction to not think about a certain gambler who had broken my heart. Instead I was focused on a certain handsome, rich man who would take care of me for the rest of my life. “Jovie, I have to say I’ve never been more proud of you,” Mom smiled. Since I had been back she pretty much pretended that I didn’t know that she was not my biological mother. I was fine with that for the most part. I was sick of arguing and yelling. It never
