Chapter 4: Tell Me The Truth!

The couple woke up at 10:00, and they were both feeling hungry. They looked at each other and smiled.

"I'll make us breakfast in the kitchen," Briana said, getting off the bed.

"I'll help you, babe," Jack said, getting up from the bed as well.

"Okay, I'll use the bathroom first," Briana responded with a smile.

Jack loved Briana's hourglass figure, full breasts, and rounded hips, but above all, he loved her personality, her confidence, and her sunny disposition in life. She is a good person on the inside, loving and kind.

Briana is good wife material, which he was looking for in a woman but couldn't find anywhere.

A few minutes later.

Briana emerged from the bathroom door, and it's now Jack's turn to use the bathroom.

"See you in the kitchen," Briana said as she walked to the dresser table.

"We can order food if you want," Jack suggested.

"No need, we will just make an egg sandwich in the kitchen," Briana replied, and she began brushing her hair.

Jack went inside the bathroom to wash himself. He joined Briana in the kitchen a few minutes later.

Briana was already cooking the scrambled eggs when Jack joined her. She placed the slices of bread, peanut butter, strawberry jam, plates, and utensils on the table. "Help yourself," she said, and continued her cooking.

"Thank you, wife! I love you!" Jack said with a wink.

Briana giggled and corrected him, "I'm not your wife yet!"

Jack grinned. "Soon, you will be my wife! I'm already your boyfriend, right?"

Briana raised a brow. "Since when?"

Jack's face grew serious. "Babe, everything that I told you last night and this morning, I mean it. Please don't break my heart. I can't take rejection right now," he said in a pleading tone.

Briana smiled and raised a brow. "Alright, give me one reason why I should enter into a relationship with you?"

"Because we are good together, not only in bed. Our personalities are a perfect match, and we're happy when we're together. Just admit it to yourself, babe," he said confidently.

Briana smiled while shaking her head in amusement. After she finished her cooking, she sat on the chair beside Jack.

"Let's eat first and then talk about our situation later," Briana said as she filled the sliced bread with scrambled eggs.

"OK, babe, you're the boss!" Jack said, taking a big bite of his sandwich.

The couple ate their breakfast in comfortable silence, occasionally looking at each other.

A few minutes later, they had finished eating.

Briana looked at Jack and said, "I'm going to call my dad and ask how the two of you met each other."

Jack felt uneasy all of a sudden. "Can you call him after one week?"

"Why not now?" Briana asked.

"Because right now, he's honeymooning on a cruise ship with his new wife," he explained.

Brianna noticed his discomfort. "Wow, you even know that my dad recently married his lover, whom he met through online dating! Interesting!"

"Yeah, I do," Jack responded, avoiding her penetrating gaze.

Briana sipped her coffee while observing Jack's sudden change of behavior.

Suddenly, she found his mannerisms suspicious.

"How close are you to your dad?" Jack inquired, recalling that neither she nor he had attended their parents' civil wedding. It's not that he didn't want to attend the wedding, but her mother didn't invite him because it was a spur of the moment decision.

When his mother sent him a picture of her new lover a few months ago, he looked him up online and discovered a lot about the guy. Then he also discovered that he has a daughter, and it was none other than Briana, the woman that he had a one-week affair with at the Diamond Resort one year ago.

Then he called his mother and instructed her to stop her relationship with the guy because he wanted to pursue his daughter. Her mother refused and continued her relationship with the guy.

Then one day, just two weeks ago, his mother sent her the wedding picture, informing him that she and her lover got married in a civil wedding ceremony and were on their way to their one-week honeymoon on a cruise ship. He was devastated.

Briana eyed him warily. "Hello! Jack, you suddenly went silent. What's wrong?"

Jack snapped back to the present. "Sorry, I just remembered something. Um, what was my last question to you again?"

Briana sighed. "You asked me how close I am to my father..."

"Yeah, can you answer my question, please?" he said.

"We're as close as father and daughter can be, why did you ask?" Briana inquired while observing his face closely.

"Nothing. Can you just let your father enjoy his honeymoon first before you call him to inquire about me?" Jack begged.

"Why? Are you hiding something from me?" Briana asked, not liking the mystery surrounding Jack's association with his father.

Jack fell silent again. His plan was to inform Briana of the truth the moment he sees her, but he fails to do that because the pull of attraction between them was too strong, he couldn't fight it. He ended up seducing her, resulting in them making love twice in a 24-hour period.

He realized that he couldn't lose her. He thought that he would be ready to let her go once he saw her again, but he was wrong!

"Did your father inform you that he is going to marry again? Have you attended his wedding?" he asked.

Briana shook her head. "He told me that he's going to marry again soon, but he didn't tell me that he already went ahead with the civil wedding, and the next time I heard from him, he was onboard the cruise ship with his new bride. My father and I always do our things separately without telling each other. We're not that overly close, but we're still family."

"I see..." Jack murmured.

"So, tell me, what is your relationship with my father? Spill! Or I'll call him right now!" Briana threatened him.

"Babe, if you know the truth, you will avoid me," Jack said sadly. He had already anticipated this situation. He tried to extend their good times together, but it seems their happy tryst is about to end right at this very moment.

Briana was getting restless, and she was feeling anxious. "Jack, tell me the truth, or I'll call my father now!" she demanded.

"Alright, I'll tell you the truth, but you have to promise me first that no matter what you hear from me, you will never avoid me? Can you promise me first?" Jack said, wanting assurance from her because he didn't want to end their wonderful moment together.

"Alright, I won't avoid you as long as you haven't killed anyone or stolen millions from other people. Just tell me the truth, please!" Briana said. She was getting nervous about the things she was about to hear from him.

Briana rose to her feet, wanting to get her phone that she left in the bedroom.

Jack stood up and hugged Briana tightly. "I don't want to lose you. I'm afraid that after you hear the truth, you will never look at me the same way. Please don't avoid me. I really love you!"

Briana looked at him in the eyes, seeing the sadness and panic flashing from his dark orbs. "Tell me now, please! I'm dying of suspense! If you don't tell me, I'll just call my father and ask about you," she said, disengaging herself from his tight embrace.

"Alright, I'll tell you the truth now," he said in a voice filled with misery.

"Hurry up! Tell me now!" Brianna demanded.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

The couple glanced at the door.

"Let me check who is outside the door," Briana said as she approached the door.

Jack let out a deep sigh as he thought about how painful Briana's anger would be when she found out they were stepsiblings. Instead of telling her the truth directly, he went ahead and seduced her.

He's doomed!
