Chapter 23 - The end ?

"Have you heard back from Ishaan?" Swati asked as I took a sip of apple juice.

It had been a month since he had left for Mumbai. His father was critical but now he was better and recuperating.

Ishaan's calls had reduced and he used to be curt whenever we spoke or chatted. I assumed it was due to work pressure.

"He called me 3 days back. He is under a lot of pressure. His dad is unable to work and Ishaan has to manage everything on his own. This juice tastes disgusting! " I said.

"Tastes fine to me," Swati said finishing up her glass of juice.

I walked into the kitchen and emptied my glass into the sink.

I missed Ishaan terribly but I tried to keep myself busy in my work.

"I am feeling tired Swati. I am going to bed." I said.

"What's wrong with you? You hardly eat anything and you are always tired." Swati said.

"I don't know maybe some vitamin deficiency," I replied.

"Visit a doctor," she said.

I nodded.
