Charlotte’s POV

Slowly days passed by; nothing much happened until the first scheduled meeting the government had with my company and Watson Holdings. Just as expected, Drake was the one that showed up for the meeting.

It was an important one; there was simply no way that he would have sent a representative, just the same way I wouldn’t have sent any representative to the meeting and would have begged Sawyer to help me deal with whatever would have kept me busy if it couldn’t be postponed.

“It’s nice to meet you, Miss Charlotte Torres and Mr. Drake Watson,” the government representative said to welcome both of us when he made his way inside.

“I will be the one representing the government for these meetings and almost everything that has to do with the contract,” the man, clearly around his mid-sixties, said to us with a faint smile that didn’t last long on his face.

He sat at the head of the long rectangular table and slid documents to both me and Drake.
