Hayes’s POV:

It was only getting worse by the day. More partners were pulling out, the company’s sale was declining, and even my cash flow has now been cut off by Adam Kraven, who has blacklisted me for reasons I don’t know. I mean, what did one of the biggest names in the business have against me?

And in all of this, Hannah still wasn’t relenting. Her lawyer had reached out, ‘COURT DIVORCE HEARING—2PM.’

So here I was, on a Tuesday afternoon, seated behind a wooden table in a courthouse, and the cause of my misfortune was seated across from me, her demeanor annoyingly calm, like she hadn’t set fire to everything I’d built all my life.

“Case 1245—Divorce hearing between Miss Hannah and Mr. Hayes.” The registrar called the case to order.

The judge was seated in front of us on an elevated seat, which overlooked the whole courthouse, giving one a sense that he was the one with the most power in the whole room. “The plaintiff may identify herself and present her case.” He said, his voice

Noah’s POVAnother knock.I froze. My heart skipped, then stumbled. I was still on the couch, the weight of everything Sophie said lingering like a bad taste in my mouth. Please no. Not again.I stood slowly, knee stiff, body tense. My fingers curled into my palm as I approached the door. The last knock brought chaos. My pulse picked up. Every part of me braced for her, Sophie, round two.But when I opened the door, my breath hitched. It wasn’t Sophie. It was Stacey.Her.She stood in the doorway, hair pulled into a messy bun like she’d thrown it up in a hurry, her cheeks flushed, her eyes, God, those eyes, soft and unsure, but lit with something deeper. Guilt? Fear? Regret? All I knew was that she was here. And suddenly, everything inside me stilled. Her eyes met mine. Apologetic. Soft. And full of that same vulnerability I always saw in her when no one else was looking. She opened her mouth. “I got your message,” she said quietly. “I’m sorry for… disappearing like that.”My throat t

Lilian’s POV: “I’m sorry—what!?” I blurted, my voice cracking as I stared at Swayne and Dwayne. My chest tightened, searching their faces for some sign I’d misheard. But their jaws were locked, eyes cold, as if my plea had bounced off stone. The room seemed to tilt. My ears roared with the pounding of my own heart. “You… you won’t help them?” The words scraped out of me, almost a whisper.Swayne’s gaze didn’t waver. Dwayne’s arms stayed folded, his silence louder than any shout.A lump burned its way up my throat. “That’s my home,” I breathed, stepping forward, my fingers curling into fists to stop them from shaking. “If we turn our backs now, the West will tear itself apart. My people will vanish—wiped from the history books as if they never lived.”The air between us crackled, heavy and suffocating, but neither Alpha spoke. The twins rose, their shadows stretching over me. Swayne’s eyes pinned me in place, his voice a cold blade. “In case you’ve forgotten, these are the same people

Stacy's POV:I rushed to the door but slipped and almost fell. My heart dropped as the beeping noise kept going on outside, and I heard the other door open. I found my footing and moved to the door before pulling it open fast, and I jumped out.Scanning the room, I saw the nurse and the doctor, and relief flooded my system when I saw him looking at me with a playful grin. Oh my God, he was fine. I took a deep breath and walked towards them."What happened? What was that sound?" I could still hear my heartbeat in my ears, and my fingers trembled from my little panic attack."Nothing to worry about," he smiled, but I looked at the nurse instead."He just accidentally pulled on this, which seized his breathing momentarily. But he's fine. Like he said, nothing to worry about."The doctor looked a bit shaken, but he remained quiet while staring at the patient board with such interest."Doc?" He raised his head to look at me before closing the book."He's fine. Excuse me I'll be back." He w

  • After Divorcing My Ex-Husband, I became His Boss   Chapter 33

Hannah’s POV:Hayes was asking why I wanted a divorce and then deliberately painting the situation like I wanted a divorce because I was cheating on him with Josh. I couldn’t just come out and say, ‘I was reborn three years into the past after you and your twisted sister pushed me off the stairs and then told the doctor to pull the plug,’ so instead I said the next best thing. “Mr. Hayes is sexually dysfunctional.”Hayes went mad with anger. His fist slammed on the table, and he rose to his feet, fire burning in his eyes. “WHAT!! That’s a big fat lie, and you know it!” His lawyer was trying to calm him down but to no avail. The dog’s tail had been stepped on, and he was on a full barking spree.“Order in the court!” The judge hit his gavel, the clacking of wood against wood doing nothing to caution Hayes.“Am I supposed to just sit back quietly and watch her spread preposterous rumors about me?” Hayes barked in response, his breath sounding more untamed by the second. The judge spoke
