Hannah's POV:

Entering my room, I decided to give the whole place one last search. I uprooted the bedcovers, turned over the flower vases, and checked under the rug, but I still wasn't finding anything.

I was midway between checking under the drawers when I heard a knocking sound on the door. I walked to the door and opened it to see Alina.

“Hey, sleep well?” He gave a cheeky smile.

I didn't return the smile.

“Thank you for yesterday, but you really didn’t have to come check up on me.” I said, walking back into the room. I went back to checking under the drawer.

“I know, but still I wanted to check up on you; it seemed like you were dealing with a lot yesterday, and I was hoping our little adventure helped.” He strode over to where I was crouched.

I didn't turn to look at him; I was still busy stretching my hand under the drawer, clawing for…something I wasn't even sure of yet.

“Sooo…,” he tapped his feet, “do you feel better?”

I sighed, a bit annoyed now. I was grateful for yesterday

  • After Divorcing My Ex-Husband, I became His Boss   Chapter 75

Hannah's POV:The audacity was mind-blowing. He pinned me down in the elevator against my will and tried to kiss me but still had the guts to ask me to explain the situation to his fiancee. This must be some sort of stupid joke.“You want me to explain what exactly?” I questioned, trying to understand what made him think this was a good idea.“Just explain to her that she saw wrong.” He read out with ease, like that was the truth.“She saw wrong? So you didn't try to kiss me against my will?” I retorted. He rolled his eyes like I was being dramatic. “Oh please, you wanted that kiss too. You didn't move.”“Yes, because you held me down!!” My words came out louder than intended. Is this man delusional or just purely crazy?I took a small breath to relax myself.Stiles was the last person I ever wanted to get me worked up. He was scum and wasn't worth it.“You caused the problem yourself, so deal with it.” I pushed him backwards, and his foot blocking the door retreated as he struggled t

Hannah's POV“I really didn't think you would take it this far,” Lenora said when she stopped clapping. “But I'm impressed that you're willing to ruin your own brother's happiness just for your satisfaction.”I surged up, not with anger but with disgust. Fully repulsed that Lenora would try to use the issues with my brother against me. Especially when she knew what that felt like now.“What are you talking about?” I questioned. Her eyes dropped, a sad girl persona dawning on her features in an instant. "Don't act like you haven't been telling me Michael is no good for me. That he gets too emotionally dependent on people and drags them down.”I flinch at the sheer lie.Lenora knew exactly what to say that would hit. I knew what she said was a lie. She herself knew it too. But that didn't matter; the only thing that counted was that Michael believed her.Micheal ran to stand by her side; he cast me a hurtful glare, like I had betrayed something growing all over again.Lenora cut deeper.

Hannah's POV:Stiles inched closer, his lips stretched out like a chicken anus. I reclined back and turned my head just in time for the elevator door to ding open on the first floor. The doors slide open to reveal Maria standing on the other end.Maria's eyes widened. Stiles froze.I used that chance to cut loose and walked out. I went the other way to the elevator at the opposite end and took it down to the basement floor. I walked some distance before I saw the door leading to the pool area.Immediately I got in, I was hit with the light smell of chlorine whiffing through the air, and the hums from the water pumps created a very tranquil atmosphere. The pool was empty, save for someone sitting on one of the in-pool loungers. On closer look I recognized the person—Micheal. We haven't spoken after him and Lenora. It wasn't like we spoke before, but now, because of what happened that day with Lenora, it has caused an even bigger rift between us. I knew Lenora was playing a game here, a

  • After Divorcing My Ex-Husband, I became His Boss   Chapter 71

Hannah POV:The next morning, sunlight streamed through the hotel curtains, spilling golden light across my face and nudging me awake. I stretched, feeling particularly refreshed after yesterday’s adventure through the streets of Paris. It was strange how a little adventure could wash away worries like that. I hopped out of bed, exhilaration still bubbling inside me as I shuffled to the bathroom. The hot water danced over my skin in the shower, washing off remnants of sleep and invigorating me for the day ahead.I took my time applying a light touch of makeup; just enough to highlight my features without masking the excitement shining through my eyes. I glanced around our lavish hotel suite. Everything felt so luxurious—the gold accents, the plush carpets, and the view of the peeking through the window. It made me giddy just to be here. Once I felt ready, I settled at the table top to catch up on a bit of work I had left undone. After forty minutes I was done and then I knew it was

  • After Divorcing My Ex-Husband, I became His Boss   Chapter 70

Hannah's POV:As I stood in the middle of my hotel suite, I didn’t just feel like a storm had hit; I felt like I was the storm itself. Clothes were strewn everywhere, and the bed looked like it hadn’t been touched in days. I tossed aside the duvet cover for what felt like the hundredth time, half convinced that Maria had planted something here, though I really couldn’t tell what or why. It was ridiculous, really. I could hear my own thoughts echoing off the chaotic walls of my mind.Just then, Alina entered, his brow furrowed with concern. “Is everything okay?” he asked, taking in the mess with wide eyes. His voice startled me out of my frantic search, and I froze, hands gripping the sheets.Of course, everything wasn’t okay. How could it be? My life felt like a tangled ball of yarn, with stress from work, the weight of Adam's expectations, and now this ridiculous situation with Maria hanging over me. I felt like I was drowning, but more than that, I felt trapped in my own head.Befor
