Chapter 6

Author: Blessings Flow
Like an invisible hand, the disgusting stench tightly clamped Sean's throat. He staggered backward a few steps, grasped the nearby wall, and began to vomit violently, his face as pale as paper.

Inside the shipping container, the heat wave attacked him with the stench of death. A small, curled-up figure lay quietly in the corner, motionless, with her skin taking on an unnatural bluish-gray color, showing no sign of life.

"No... No way..." Sean muttered to himself, his voice shaking uncontrollab

They spent the rest of their lives confined in the magnificent cage forged with remorse. Every morning when they woke up, what greeted them was not hope but another silent judgment of their past sins. The path to redemption seemed to have been completely broken when they turned their backs. In another world, sunlight streamed through the clean glass windows and fell on the wooden floor. There was a faint fragrance of laundry detergent in the air. This was an ordinary yet warm apartment."Estelle, eat slowly, be careful of the heat," my mother said, wearing an apron, placing a steaming plate of pasta in front of me. Her eyes were filled with tenderness and the preciousness of regaining what was lost."Yeah! Your pasta is the best!" I nodded vigorously, picked up the cutlery, blew on them, and ate contentedly. This was the taste of my mother's food, something I had missed for far too long.We lived in a modest but cheerful house. Beyond the window were ordinary streets and lush gree

"Dad... Brothers... I'm... I'm really sorry. Please forgive me! "Cynthia cried heart-wrenchingly."Sir, since we're married, please spare Cynthia. It's all my fault!" my once elegant stepmother pleaded, looking disheveled. However, their pleas only reminded my father and brothers of my helpless cries and explanations, as well as my final desperate gaze."Do it," my father commanded emotionlessly. The bodyguards forced Cynthia and her mother to place their hands into the draw box, one by one.The punishments drawn were carried out without mercy. The basement echoed with painful wails and desperate cries. However, the belated punishment could never bring back the little girl who would call them "Dad" and "Brothers" sweetly, and who would be happy for hours because of a single compliment from them. The Lambert family villa remained luxurious, but it had turned into a cold and empty tomb. The rush of revenge evaporated like dew, leaving behind a deeper, almost consuming emptiness

  • After I Died in A Shipping Container   Chapter 8

Cynthia sneaked near the storage room, seemingly holding something in her hand. She fiddled with it at the door for a while and then ran off.Not long after, thick smoke and flames emerged from the storage room door! The truth was revealed! The arsonist was none other than Cynthia herself! She did this to create chaos at the birthday party and then blamed it on me, who was locked up! She never expected the fire to get out of control, let alone that she herself would be affected. When the surveillance video was placed in front of my father and brothers, the study fell eerily silent. Then, my father slammed his fist onto the expensive redwood desk with a thud. The back of his hand quickly reddened and swelled. "Impressive! Cynthia truly is impressive! A 'pitiful' child left by her mother on her deathbed!"My father's voice trembled with extreme anger, his eyes bloodshot. The truth about Cynthia's arson was like the final straw that crushed the last shred of compassion and guilt tha

"Yesterday?" My father's voice was hoarse and calm, yet it was intimidating. "You said... Estelle pinched you yesterday?"Cynthia was frightened by my father's gaze and instinctively took a step back, but still forced herself to nod, following her usual success. "Yes! Yesterday afternoon! In the garden!""Ha..." Jacob suddenly let out a very faint laugh, and that laugh was filled with endless sorrow and mockery.Axel closed his eyes. When he reopened them, his eyes were deep crimson. He stared at Cynthia, uttering, "Cynthia, you said Estelle pinched you in the garden yesterday afternoon?"Scared by Axel's never-before-seen stern gaze, Cynthia trembled slightly and stammered, "I... I might have mistaken it. It was... it was the day before yesterday..."Sean's voice was as cold as ice. "The day before yesterday? Estelle had been locked in the storage room the day before yesterday. Then, a fire broke out, and she was locked in this shipping container! How could she come out and attac

A small, curled-up figure lay quietly in the corner, motionless, with her skin taking on an unnatural bluish-gray color, showing no sign of life."No... No way..." Sean muttered to himself, his voice shaking uncontrollably. He could not believe what he was seeing. How could the little girl who had been crying as she talked back and meekly said she missed her mother just a few days ago have turned out like this?He almost crawled back to the villa, shouting incoherently. "Dad! Dad! Estelle... Estelle... "My father was in his study, and Axel and Jacob rushed over upon hearing Sean shouting. Seeing Sean's distraught and frightened appearance, they simultaneously felt a foreboding sense of unease."What's wron

Cynthia was also somehow exposed to the smoke, or perhaps frightened. She curled up on the ground. Her small face was red as she breathed rapidly, as if she was about to suffocate."Cynthia!" My father's expression changed drastically as he immediately dropped what he was doing and rushed toward her.All my brothers also gathered around Cynthia. Jacob knelt on the ground, anxiously checking her condition. Axel and Sean helped him with solemn expressions. My father suddenly turned his head around. The eyes that had once been full of affection for me now only held overwhelming anger and icy disappointment as they stared at me. "Estelle!"His voice seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, filled with incredulous rage. "It was you who started the fire, wasn't it? Do you hate Cynthia so much that you want to burn her to death in such a vicious way at her birthday party?" His yelling made me tremble. My throat, which had been choked by smoke, was dry and painful. I could only
