Chapter 360

Author: Aurora Wells
Miles looked at me, still frustrated, and let out a cold laugh through clenched teeth. “I knew it. You don’t care about me at all.”

That accusation hit like a brick to the face.

I blinked, stunned, thrown off by how serious he sounded.

It wasn’t just a petty complaint—he meant it.

I shuffled closer and gave a sheepish smile. “Miles, how could I not care? That Joanna woman clearly isn’t some sweet innocent.

"I was jealous—super jealous. I mean, have you seen her body? Of course, I’m jealous. And the way she looked at you? I hated it.”

Miles finally glanced at me. “You mean it?”

I gave him a pitiful look. “Do you actually like jealous women?”

Once upon a time, I used to get jealous easily, but that never ended well.

Honestly, when Joanna showed up, my radar did go off, but Miles didn’t even look at her, so what was there to react to?

He looked at me seriously. “Yeah. I like it when you get jealous. In fact, I want you to chase all those women off for me.”

Miles wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said to Julian, "Since Mr. Moore is so eager to do charity work, we ought to support him. "But this time, I’ll be going with Evelyn. I don’t feel comfortable letting her head to an unfamiliar place alone."There was nothing but tenderness in his eyes."I need to keep her safe."I saw Julian clench his fists. After a moment, he forced out a reply."Fine. We’ll go together then."He turned around to leave.Unfortunately for him, Miles was here today, and whatever plans Julian had carefully prepared were completely ruined. There was no point in staying any longer because that would only embarrass him.Miles suddenly called out, "Mr. Moore? The second mediation is the day after tomorrow. I hope you’ll cooperate."Julian let out a cold laugh."I’ve already submitted new evidence. Evelyn only wants a divorce because of her amnesia. Don’t waste your effort, Miles. I’m not divorcing her."Miles smiled faintly."In that case, I guess there’s no nee

Julian’s face shifted. “I... I...”But nothing came out.Miles let out a disdainful laugh. “Nothing to say? After everything you did to Eve, do you really think you get to stand here now playing the role of a man who’s suddenly ‘seen the light’?“Mr. Moore, maybe the entertainment industry could use a performer like you. Might be your true calling.”Julian’s expression twisted in fury. “Miles Wynn, if I didn’t respect your status—”Miles cut in, voice like frost, “Shouldn’t I be the one saying that? If it weren’t for Eve, you wouldn’t even be worth speaking to.”A vein pulsed visibly on Julian’s forehead, but he didn’t say a word. He turned to me instead, his tone softening to a near-plea.“Eve, can we talk? Just the two of us?”Miles’ voice was flat and final. “Then talk now. If not, we’ll see you in court.”I gave Miles a glance, then looked at Julian. “Mr. Moore, if you have something to say, say it.”Julian glared at Miles before hesitating, then finally spoke. “Do you remember th

Kira’s eyes were now fully rimmed with red. She glared at me, her voice shaking with fury.“Evelyn, you used, secondhand woman—what right do you have standing next to my cousin? Did you trick him? Tell me, what disgusting things did you do to manipulate him?”Me? Secondhand?I let out a sharp laugh. “Secondhand? Look in the mirror. You and your entire drama-starved family are the ones who’ve been passed around. "And please, enough with the ‘cousin’ act. Miles already said it that you two aren’t even related. "You’re not family, not even remotely. And the fact that you had the nerve to live in the Wynn household like some clingy stray? You want to talk about shame? You’re the definition.”Kira looked like she was about to lose her mind. All sense of decorum flew out the window as she pointed a trembling finger at me, shouting, “You evil woman! No wonder Julian Moore dumped you. You’re greedy, shameless, and just trying to latch onto my cousin for status. "I’m telling Mrs. Wynn—you’l

The two of us looked up and noticed Kira, standing at the doorway with fire practically shooting from her eyes. She was glaring at me like I’d just stolen her entire world.I got off Miles and looked straight at her. “Miss Smith, what brings you here?”My tone wasn’t friendly. What was this place now, a public square? First Joanna, now Kira? Was this some kind of parade of women?I cast a silent, accusatory glance at Miles—this was his fault!Miles adjusted his glasses and asked coolly, “What are you doing here?”Kira stormed in and slammed a box onto the only table in the living room. “Your mother asked me to bring this.”She looked like she was on the verge of tears as she said it.Miles barely glanced at the box and replied, “You’ve delivered it. You can leave now.”Kira’s eyes turned red. She staggered slightly, clearly shaken. “Miles, how could you treat me like this?”Miles gave her a blank look. “How exactly did I treat you?”She couldn’t answer.Miles frowned, clearly runnin

His serious face hovered over mine as his ten fingers pinched and pulled at my cheeks, stretching them into every ridiculous shape imaginable.“Mmph... What jealousy... I’m not... I’m not jealous. Why would I even be— Ow! That hurts!”I yelped, “Miles Wynn, stop it! Why should I be jealous? Mmph... why—”He narrowed his eyes, and behind the lenses, those deep irises took on a dangerous gleam.“Oh? You really don’t know? Seems I’ve been spoiling you too much.”He leaned in. “Time for a little lesson.”I panicked. “W-What lesson? You—hey, I’m warning you, don’t do anything crazy, this is—mmph!”Miles’s lips curled into a wicked smile, enough to send a chill down my spine. My heart skipped a beat as his face loomed closer. The next second, he grabbed my waist with one hand, then…“Ow!” I cried out as he bit down on the side of my neck.I shoved him off and frantically pulled out my compact mirror to check.Sure enough, a glaring red mark stood out against my pale skin.I glared at him. “A
