“Don’t go, Finn. If you really need money, I’ll lend you some.”

The moment he finished speaking, he suddenly dropped to the floor, smashing his head hard against the coffee table beside him.

“Ah... that hurts!”

Bang!

Without a second thought, Yuna rushed over and shoved me away with all her strength.

I was thrown into the hot-water dispenser beside me, knocking it over.

Scalding water poured all over me.

I cried out in pain.

“Finn, why did you push Joshua?”

Yuna glared at me furiously.

“If you’re angry, take it out on me. Don’t take it out on Joshua!”

Hearing her call him Joshua again and again was like nails scraping against my ears.

Could she not see that I had been scalded?

But I no longer had the strength to explain myself. I only wanted the money so I could make arrangements for Grandpa.

Then I could return to my original world.

“Yuna, just give me a hundred thousand dollars.”

“Give me a hundred thousand, and I’ll leave immediately. Otherwise, I’ll keep bullying your Joshua.”

“Finn!”

She glared at me, her eyes sharp as blades.

Then she suddenly rushed forward and wrapped her hand around my throat. Her grip was so strong that it gradually squeezed the air from my lungs.

“Why do you have to be so vicious? Can’t we just part ways amicably?”

“I want to... but you won’t let me. I just... want the money.”

I forced the words out.

She shoved me to the floor.

“Fine. I’ll give it to you. But I have one condition.”

“What?”

I coughed as I looked up at her.

“Get on your knees and apologize to Joshua.”

I froze. I had not expected her to say something like that.

I thought she still felt something for me.

After all, we had been together for so many years.

“Fine.”

I answered her, rose to my feet, and walked toward Joshua before kneeling in front of him.

“I’m sorry.”

As I spoke, I lowered my head to the floor.

Suddenly, Yuna grabbed my head and slammed it down hard.

The pain made me bite through my tongue.

“You made Joshua hit his head earlier. Now we’re even!”

“Fine. Can you give me the money now?”

She took out the bank card and placed it on top of her shoe.

“Crawl over and take it yourself.”

“Fine.”

She looked surprised by my answer this time.

Perhaps she had not expected me to agree to everything.

After all, I was once such a proud person.

But I would be leaving soon. For Grandpa’s sake, I was willing to do anything.

I crawled over and reached for the card, but she suddenly grabbed my hand. Through gritted teeth, she said, “Finn, you really have no dignity when it comes to money.”

I clenched my fists, suddenly remembering how resolutely she had set me up to be hit by that car.

She no longer cared about me, so I had no reason to care about Joshua.

I took the card and got to my feet. Just then, I received a message.

Something had happened to Grandpa, and he was rushed into the emergency room.

I immediately tried to run to the hospital, but Yuna caught hold of me.

“You think you can just leave after taking the money? Nothing comes that easily!”

“You’ll stay here and wait on us for the next few days!”

“Let go of me!”

I tried to shake her off, but her grip was tight.

“Yuna, something happened to my grandfather. Let me go.”

“How ridiculous. The moment you get the money, you say something happened to your grandfather so you can leave. Finn, you’re even willing to use your own grandfather to deceive people for money.”

“I’m not.”

Panic surged through me.

Then the System suddenly spoke.
