Amelia’s POV

Rowan’s face froze. The icy fury radiating off him made the air at the table tighten.

"Excuse me?" His voice was low, sharp, dangerous.

Sienna tilted her chin. Her lips curved into a saccharine smile. "You heard me, Ro-ro."

I cringed at the pet name, and Rowan’s eyes flickered with rage.

"Our marriage was arranged by our families in the first place," she went on, "We both know it was strategic, and… it worked. Your mother and I have been talking, and we both agree—it just makes sense to reunite."

Rowan barked out a bitter laugh. "This is all very funny, Sienna. But unless the calendar switched to April first without me noticing, I’m not laughing."

He shoved his chair back with a screech. "Amelia and I should get going now."

I rose slowly, my heart pounding. But before I could fully stand, Evangeline’s voice cracked through the room like a whip. "Sit. Down."

The force in her tone made me falter, caught in an awkward half-squat. Rowan’s eyes narrowed at her, his jaw flexing

Amelia’s POVRowan stood in the middle of my living room like he owned it, jaw tight, eyes blazing with determination."I’m handling the plagiarism situation," he said, voice low but firm. "Discreetly. You don’t need to resign."I folded my arms, trying to keep my own pulse steady. "Maybe I don’t need to. But I want to."His brows shot up. "Amelia, come on. Don’t throw away your entire career because of this—""I’m not throwing it away." My throat tightened. "I’m protecting myself.""I will make a plan," he insisted, stepping closer like his sheer proximity might sway me. "Until then, you’ll be on extended paid leave. Full salary. It’ll help with… all of this." His gaze drifted past me—finally taking in the shelves I’d painted, the warm lights I’d strung, the rugs still half-unrolled on the floor. "Wow," he murmured. "This place is… beautiful."I let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "You don’t get to be impressed, Rowan. You don’t even get to see my space. You barged in without asking—

Rowan’s POVBy the time I reached Amelia’s house, I was shaking with rage, jealousy, panic—an unhinged cocktail that made my vision blur.I didn’t knock or ring. I hammered on the damn door. She opened it a second later, eyes wide. "Rowan? What are you—"I shouldered past her, shoving the door wider. She stumbled back with a shocked gasp. "Hey! You can’t just—"I didn’t stop. I paced straight into the living room, barely taking in the fresh paint, the soft earthy tones, the warmth she’d woven into the place. Not now. I was here on a warpath."Rowan!" she snapped. "You can’t just waltz in here like this!"I spun toward her, chest heaving."Oh, can’t I?" I barked. "And you—what—what the hell were you thinking? Going jewelry shopping with another man already? With him?"Her eyebrows shot up. She actually laughed, disbelieving."Seriously? You have no right to tell me what I can or can’t do.""The hell I don’t!""No," she repeated firmly, stepping right into my space, "you don’t. I don’t

Sienna’s POVAmelia spun toward me, wide-eyed and blinking fast like a startled little deer."So," I drawled, folding my arms as I sauntered closer, "you’re done with Rowan and already moving on, hmm?"She lifted her chin—as she always did—like she thought that made her look strong instead of painfully transparent."None of your business," she snapped.I smirked.Oh, sweetheart. Everything about you is my business. The man beside her was handsome in a polished, classy kind of way. Though absolutely nowhere near the lethal sex-appeal and command Rowan carried. He turned to face me. His eyes narrowed just a fraction, calm but assessing."Hey, I know you!" I said brightly. "You’re that guy from the restaurant the other night."He didn’t flinch. Didn’t smile. Didn’t even blink.Just looked down at me with maddening composure."I am indeed," he said. "And you’re Sienna…"His voice was smooth yet sharp as he added, "Rowan’s ex-wife. The one who likes attention almost as much as she hates n

  • After My Wedding Was Stolen, I Married Ex's Uncle   Chapter 151 - Couple Goals

Amelia’s POVThe first thing I saw when I checked my phone the next morning was a post from Sienna. Only posted half an hour ago, and it was already going viral.@thesiennarhodes : "Woke up like this. Had the best night ever with my mystery lover… #blessed #guesswho #mysteryman"I blinked, then actually snorted. "Oh, for god’s sake," I muttered as I tapped the post. There she was: Sienna, with obnoxiously swollen lips, the black lace from her push-up bra sticking out of her barely-there top.I stared at the photo."…is she serious right now?" I groaned, dragging a hand over my face. Then, despite every cell in my body screaming don’t do it, I scrolled to the comments.OMGGG it’s Rowan right??Wexton’s king and queen reunitedThey always find their way back to each otherHe totally spent the night Couple goals!!"Ugh," I said out loud. "Couple goals my ass."Still half-asleep, I scrolled on.More comments. More theories. More people tagging each other and screaming about their "favori

Rowan’s POV"Get the hell off me!"I shot upright so violently the room spun. I shoved her away with enough force that she toppled backward and hit the floor with a loud, graceless thump."OW!" Sienna yelped, scrambling onto her elbows. "What the hell, Rowan?! Is that your way of thanking me?""Thanking you?!" My voice tore out of me, raw and furious. "What the HELL were you thinking?"I dragged my pants up and began pacing, hands in my hair, my pulse a deafening roar in my ears. Everything in me was white-hot, vibrating with rage. If I didn’t keep moving, I’d grab her and throw her out of the damn window.I must’ve left the secret door unlocked. In all my frustration and grief and fucking desperation for Amelia, I hadn’t double-checked it.Of all the places she could’ve violated and ruined… she chose this room? Our room?Sienna rose slowly, dusting herself off. Her lips curled into a smug little smile—the exact kind that always made me want to slam a door in her face."I just couldn

Rowan’s POV"Fuck. Fuck, fuck!"The words tore out of me before I could swallow them down. Here I was again—left in the dust, watching her drive away.Amelia was really done with me.Not pretending. Not bluffing.Done.The realization hollowed something out inside my chest. Not even the wildfire chemistry between us—the kind that could ignite whole cities—had been enough to make her stay. She wanted to sever everything. Every tie. Every thread. Every chance. My heart fucking ached. What if she didn’t even take my extended leave offer? What if she walked out of my life, slammed that door shut, and never—never—came back? What if this was actually the end of us?No. No, I wasn’t accepting that. I couldn’t.I raked a shaky hand through my hair, my breath choppy with frustration, and spun on my heel. If I let her get away without a fight, then I deserved to lose her. But I wasn’t losing her. Not again. Not this time.I strode back toward the building. The one she had designed from nothin
